@@WesternEquipment Great review, one of our gamekeepers has an older gas model with a fully enclosed cab with heater and he says it's really warm, the dogs like it too, also it is road legal with the lights and turn signals, front winch is used quite a lot as well.
just purchased 2022 john deere 1025R yesterday, and i seen the 2022 Honor edition ol wow is all i can say super nice and the fit and finish from john deere was amazing, that be next on my list of purchases in the future…
Great videos! Very informative! I just purchased a 2022 XUV835M with the cab, headliner and doors. I am thinking of adding the center rear view mirror and wondered how difficult it is to install with the headliner already installed. It appears the side mirrors are relatively easy to install. Also, I want to add a winch in the front. Near the rear of the winch mounting plate on the gator I noticed a large Anderson-style connector with large (maybe 6-10 AWG) red and black wires coming out of it and going to a harness someplace. I assume this is to provide power for the winch and perhaps other add-ons such as a plow. It does not appear that power currently exists in this connector. Is there a fuse or switch somewhere that would activate this outlet?
Installing the rear view mirror is easy even with the headliner. And for the winch, the kit will have full instructions on how to activate that plug. But you are correct, that will be used for your power source. Thanks for watching!
Yes, the rear differential lock is what acts as your "position trac". It will not automatically lock in like a car but you can turn it on when you need it.
@Western Equipment I am.sorry for the stupid question. I just got one and finally noticed the shift lever by the steering wheel to lock and unlock diff. Thanks for not calling me a stooge lol.
Yes, there is a straight blade option or v-blade option. They have to be ordered as a whole goods item meaning they would have to go through a salesman at a dealership but if you are interested shoot me an email at brent@west-equip.com and we can get you fixed up. The kits look it has almost everything you would need in it except the dash port harness(which is only needed if not already installed). It is suggested that you have heavy duty suspension and the blades can only be used with the Maxxis Bighorn tires.
Thank you for the walk through! I have a question. Do you know how to remove or adjust the governor? The one that I have will only go up to 29mph and then throttle down. Thank you
Great overview. Thanks. We are moving up from a TX machine mainly due to the 4WD, but I see that this machine will be even more useful. Much appreciated!
Great overview. Test drove one today and trying to weight a nice used 815I or really taking a big hit for a new 835M. The 835M feels like a big step up? Thoughts comparing the two? Thanks!
Yes, I would agree that the 835M is a huge upgrade from the 825i. But I can assure you that the upgrades with the 835M are well worth the jump. The upgraded transmission in the 2021 models to the more automotive style is by far the best new feature. In my opinion if it were me that was looking for a new gator I would heavily lean to the 835M. You also have a more powerful engine and way more room I the cab. And lastly, it is by far easier to add attachments to the 835M. I hope this was helpful!
How do you remove the battery when it comes time for a replacement? A salesperson at the dealership told me that I would have to remove it from Underneath the cargo box. That appears to be quite a cumbersome ordeal. But the salesperson wasn’t really sure. Couldn’t find anything on the internet either. Can you help me ?
There is a really detailed portion on removing and installing the battery in your operator manual. It is sort of difficult to explain through a comment let me know if you can't find it in your manual or if you still have trouble. I will try to do a video on this when i get a chance. Thanks for watching!
They are great! Just make sure you get the right unit based on your application. Meaning really look into the battery times to make sure you have enough for the job you are doing!
Have you had any complaints about the front shocks (or somewhere in the front) squeaking over bumpy terrain? My dealer said it's normal shock noise, but I find it hard to believe. Really noisy and annoying. Thanks!!
There is not a separate reservoir. The dipstick is directly on tope of the transaxle housing. It looks sort of like just a plug, but it will have two knobs on it that allows you to twist it off. I hope this helps and thanks for watching!
@@WesternEquipment thanks for your reply! A brand new 835E is coming to a local store in the near future and I have a down payment on it. Is the steering unbearable or uncomfortable in any way without power steering?
@@WesternEquipment Also, are you able to install power steering later on (install through dealer) if I were to get the 835E now and decide I want it down the road?
Sadly, I just purchased a 2022 xuv835m with many extras. One accessory was half doors...they do not close and, if you manage to close them, they fly open while driving or when the gator is just sitting.....I have complained to the dealer...the reply was "the doors are defective and JD has not fixed the problem"...but, JD continues to charge $800 for them in 2022!!! My message to potential owners is think twice about buying those half doors...
This depends on what model you order. Some they will be standard from the factory and some will have to be added at the dealership or by the customer. Good question and thanks for watching!

This depends on your city/town ordinances. If it isn't, most of the time you can add the proper attachments (turn signals, mirrors, slow moving vehicle sign, etc.) to make it street legal. Thanks for watching!

Is there a interior dome light kit for that unit as it’s equipped in this video?
You would have to install the headliner to get the dome light.
Other than half doors, is there a full door add, so it could be made waterproof? Yes, I know you can get one with a full cab.
Yes, you can add the full doors. Good question and thanks for watching!
@@WesternEquipment - where? I cannot find that as a kit option, only the half-doors.

Can you do a video installing a winch on a 835R
I will put this on the list!
Did you ever do a video on how to change out the battery? Thanks great video.
Not yet, but it is on the list. Thanks for watching!
Is there a phone app like TractorPlus or MowerPlus for the XUV835M?
And if so, what is it, and does it need a connector module?
Currently there is not. But you can add guidance equipment, like in the larger tractors. Good question and thanks for watching!
Forgive me if he covered this but does this deere have a "position trac" rear end?
It has a rear differential if that’s what you mean. Sorry if I don’t understand. I just took delivery on one yesterday.

Is there a video on how to install a windshield on the 835E?
The air filters plug pretty quickly in dusty conditions, but there is a fix. If you own one of these and have this problem, contact your local dealer.
Good advice. Thank you and thanks for watching!
Thank you for the walk through! I have a question. Do you know how to remove or adjust the governor? The one that I have will only go up to 29mph and then throttle down. Thank you
I think this would be a question for your dealer. Even if I did know, I wouldn't want to be the one to put that out on the web!
Hey Brent, do you think you could review the HPX815e thanks
I will see what I can do. Thanks for the request and thanks for watching!
Aw damn, we just got a Xuv590M in November 2020 and we just missed the refresh lol.

Can anyone comment on if it’s worth the upgrade from the 835 E to 835 M for just the power steering? Or if you can get away without it
