The problem I always ran into was one scripture can be in more than one categories so I list my colors in order and color the first three letters in main color, then each additional color on the next three letters of the verse. It looks great and then if I choose to highlight or underline the rest of the verse it's neat and tidy and colorful.

I have trouble deciding what to color certain passages. You can just use the category God impresses on you the most in that reading.
