Good video Jack. One question about the 75mm long range macro, how far away can I be from the subject matter I’m shooting? And is that using the normal camera or telephoto camera (on iPhone 14 max pro)? I have a RUclips channel where I review watches and typically shoot 6 inches away. Really torn on whether to go with Moment, Sandmarc, or Shiftcam. I’ll likely be purchasing a 15 Pro Max when they’re released but it’s a tough decision.
Moment and Sandmarc are second class. The new Shiftcam lenses are likely to be the best lenses for iPhone in the market but lack a very important accessory: lens cap. Wait to see if Shifcam is going to provide lens caps (they don't have them even to sell separately at the moment). If they don't then go Beastgrip. It's better than Moment and Sandmarc. I am reporting Shiftcam to the Better Business Bureau in the US.
They had a in case lens mount for the 13 Pro so you could use the lens with any case what was really good considering that Shiftcam cases are rubbish. But so far they didn't make one for the 14 Pro so you will be forced to use their case.
I'm still waiting for my product and have just been told (after several emails) there are 'delays' and they won't be shipped now till November. I've asked for a refund. I get the feeling this is a scam operation :-(
Upbeat, credible review, Jack! Smartphone photography is coming along and products like these push the boundaries. My sense is that folks who would get extensive use of these add-ons would soon opt to move on to conventional cameras. Smartphone accessory lenses kinda detract from pocket-ability and compact use advantages of smartphones, IMO. Lack of EXIF data (at least device ID of what smartphone lens focal length was used) is another limiting example. Same for serious editing apps. My guess is that LR doesn’t have lens profiles for add-on smartphone lenses (yet😊). Long range macro, a plus. Do these lenses work with iPhone LiDAR? Apertures? Weather sealing? Your cat?😊 Would like to see vids on smartphone off-device flash options (using device camera). Cheers!
Cheers Paul! Yeah I think these are great for anyone starting out before moving onto more dedicated cameras and lenses. Easy to use and great results. Yeah would be great to have that data in the EXIF! I had to add captions to my images as I was shooting to remember what was what! But that’ll be down to app developers to support I guess. Haven’t done any testing with the LiDAR but my guess is most of the lenses would block the sensor. Thanks for watching! ✌🏻
It took me a while to understand your comment and I still don't know what LR means. This looking down at iPhone shooting is unwarranted to say the least. iPhones are not a 'camera for beginners'. Your "sense" is not confirmed by the market. BBC is using phones to shoot now and I remember seeing a reporter doing a live broadcast for Sky News using a phone. That was years ago. Soderbergh, one of the best , more relevant film directors today used an iPhone to film one of his features, 'High Flying Bird" . And it was the iPhone 8 if I remember right! The 14 Pro is far, far better than the 8. I worked with big , 10-12 kg broadcast cameras, three 2/3 inches ccds/cmos all my adult life but am shooting with iPhone now whenever I can choose. On this matter of preference: I've seen a few reviews comparing 'conventional' cameras with iPhone 14 Pro and they were all poorly designed and executed. In a dishonest review comparing a Red camera with iPhone 14 Pro , for example, the reviewer does use a ND filter on the Red's lens but not on the iPhone's lens. That was the poor design. The dishonesty was a fake test with a Casetify phone case. Smartphone accessories do not detract from 'pocket-ability' of smartphones. I shot a review with two lenses, an on camera shotgun (a real one , not those toys they have for phones) , two VND filters and cables. It all fitted in a small camera bag. I had a small tripod. To begin with , the tripod would need to be much bigger if I had used a conventional camera. I shot a story about bionic arms. I got a very nice (and informative) angle showing the hands of the lab staff i and her work in real time, not staged, from the top. All I had to do was to turn my phone and shoot using the lens facing down. A piece of cake and a very good result. The same shot using a conventional camera would require a rig ( a tripod wouldn't to0 , staging, and would be much more complicated and much more time consuming. As for the lack of EXIF data: Have a look around. The world of iPhone shooting is not limited to filmic pro. Cinema P3 cam app has good metadata and does say which "smartphone lens focal length" was used. It also mentions which focus, exposure mode were used. Which White balance.Which white balance tint. Which ISO and shutter etc. As for "serious" editing apps... Not a single serious shooter will edit on the phone. They will use, as they do, FC, Adobe or DaVinci for the most part. Just like everybody else in film studios, TV broadcasters etc. Small is beautiful. And it's the future.
It’s currently a project you can back and pre-order on Kickstarter, there’s a link in the description. Sometime after the Kickstarter ends the gear will be available to purchase from ShiftCam, but Kickstarter backers will get theirs first! Thanks for watching! ✌🏻

I have a question. Can the 75mm be used just as tele 60mm? I know it’s a macro lens, but it’s also a tele lens. I have found 0 videos or posts about it, people shoot only macro with, but I need longer range than 60mm, and looking to buy just for the longer range if it acts as good as 60mm.
I was looking where i could buy this, and i couldn’t find it. I went to comment for link below, i went you channel page, web site… nowhere. so weird, are you making video just to show or you want to sell?? Doesn’t look like you wanna make money
Literally all reviews about the Shiftcam LensUltra kit discredit the soundness of reviews on RUclips because not a single reviewer criticised the lack of lens caps in the kit. I do wonder if those reviewers would be so indifferent to the lack of lens caps if they had paid $1,200 plus shipping and heavy taxes (if outside the US) for the kit. In any case, I am reporting Shiftcam to the Better Business Bureau. I asked all reviewers why they didn’t criticise the lack of lens caps. I deleted the question so I will have just this comment here. I think it will be easier to focus on the matter this way. Two of the reviewers got nasty and threatened me. They didn’t answer my question. A third one said that his kit actually had lens caps!!! But Shiftcam doesn’t even make lens caps!!! Most reviewers just ignored my question. They know they can't answer my question and keep face as to not criticise the lack of lens caps in the kit is indefensible. Just two reviewers answered my question. The first one said he doesn’t care about lens cap for the front lens. Still , he didn’t criticise the lack of lens cap for the rear lens. In any case, that reviewer is contradicting himself because he claims to care only about the quality of image when choosing a lens but the lack of a lens cap will certainly affect the quality of the image as the more a lens is kept without a lens cap the more it will be exposed to dust, debris, moisture, bumps etc. Unless you keep your seven lenses in the carrying case forever and never use them! A second reviewer said that it didn’t cross his mind as he thinks a cloth pouch is protection enough. Both reviewers let their personal habits when it comes to gear protection get on the way of providing important information to viewers. Let’s not forget that Beastgrip, Sandmarc , Reeflex, Moondog Labs and Moment sell their lenses with lens caps for both rear and front lens (Moment provides caps for the rear lens only but they sell caps for front lenses separately ) Doesn’t that fact deserves to be mentioned in a review about the new Shiftcam lenses seeing that Shiftcam is the only company manufacturing professional lenses for iPhone that doesn’t provide lens caps for their lenses ? Shiftcam doesn’t even have lens caps to sell separately!!! They don’t care about protecting their lenses. It’s called irresponsible manufacturing. And I am not referring only to the kit. Individual lenses sold separately will also ship without lens caps. Some reviewers replied that Shiftcam individual lenses will come in cases. First of all, their reviews are about the kit, not individual lenses sold separately at a higher price per lens. Second, lens cases are not as crucial as lens caps and they don’t do the same job. Cases don't protect the lens when it is on the phone , for example. Say you are walking in a park with your phone in a windy day. You are looking for a next place to do some shooting. What do you do? Put a lens cap on the lens and know the lens is protected against debris brought by the wind etc? Or you take the backpack from your back, take the case from the backpack, remove the lens from the phone, put the lens in the case and back in the backpack just to invert the process 15 min later? Or maybe you don’t care about protecting your lenses at all? But if this is the case then it's likely that the quality of your work will be pair with your standards and it won’t really matter which lens you use. I can improvise my own lens case and have two Beastgrip tele lenses (with lens caps on both ends) in a hard sunglass case which easily fits in my backpack or camera bag. But I can’t improvise lens caps, especially for Shiftcam lenses which have a unique size. Viewers rely on popular reviewers such as the ones who received a free kit from Shiftcam. They should hear from those reviewers that the new Shiftcam lenses are likely to be the best lenses for iPhones in the market BUT they are shipping without lens caps so think carefully before ordering their lenses. A protest against Shiftcam on RUclips reviews would send a loud, clear message: Act as a responsible manufacturer and start the production of caps for all your different lenses. Rear and front. But no reviewer is protesting. This way, I am. P.S. I walk my talk. I bought lenses from Sandmarc, Moment, Beastgrip and Shiftcam last year. I compared them. The Shiftcam tele lens was clearly better than Moment and Sandmarc and a little better than the Beastgrip 2.0 tele. I sent the Moment and Sandmarc lenses back without hesitation. I kept the Beastrip and sent the Shiftcam lenses ( I had three) back after some deliberation because they didn't have lens caps and were not compatible with ND filters. I really wanted to keep the Shiftcam tele lens. I thought that maybe I could live without a ND filter and use the lens just for indoors shooting. But I couldn't live with a lens without lens caps. To end: Let me state the obvious and list the importance of lens caps according to K& F Concept: "A lens cap protects the lens from dust and debris. Dust and dirt can build up on the lens, reducing image quality and causing loss of focus. It can also cause scratches on the lens, leading to permanent damage." It also protects the lens from moisture. "Moisture can cause the lens coating to degrade, reducing image quality." A lens cap provides a barrier against bumps and scratches. "It protects the lens from fingerprints and other smudges. Fingerprints can reduce image quality and contrast, so it’s important to keep them off the lens. By using a lens cap, you can keep the lens free from fingerprints and other smudges.” (Interesting here is that one of the reviewers who threatened me mentioned that “The glass on these lenses is so clear every little bit of dust, every little bit of finger smudging …will show up on these lenses like nothing else” . But he doesn’t mention the lack of lens caps in the kit, much less that it is a contra) They protect the lens from UV rays. "Exposure to UV rays can cause discoloration and fading of the lens coating, which can reduce image quality and contrast.” Yet, Shiftcam doesn’t provide lens caps for their lenses. Unlike Beastgrip, Moment, Sandmarc, Reeflex and Moondog labs. .
@@jonsnow8629 I checked the ten reviews posted by reviewers who received a free kit to review. Many posters comment that they've already bought the kit. The price is not an issue at all. It went down 30% so the deluxe kit costs just under £900 in the UK (it should be about $900 in the US. Electronic goods somehow never follow exchange rates 😡). This way, customers will be paying about £130 per lens, what is less then you would pay for any Beastgrip lens. The real issue is the lack of lens caps. I can't afford to buy any more gear for my iPhone at the moment but I would never ever buy a Shiftcam lens because they come without lens caps. I believe their new tele lens is the best one in the market now and would be willing to make a sacrifice and buy it individually but will never do it because the lens ships without lens caps.

Wait to see if Shifcam is going to provide lens caps (they don't have them even to sell separately at the moment). If they don't then go Beastgrip. It's better than Moment and Sandmarc.
I am reporting Shiftcam to the Better Business Bureau in the US.
Sandmarc lens case is crap
Hi jack! I’m wondering if the lens mount is proprietary or i can use other case with the shiftcam lenses?
They had a in case lens mount for the 13 Pro so you could use the lens with any case what was really good considering that Shiftcam cases are rubbish. But so far they didn't make one for the 14 Pro so you will be forced to use their case.
ShiftCam or Beastgrip?
Can you use these lenses with a sandmarc case?
No, SANDMARC uses a larger thread size so you’ll need to use a ShiftCam case ✌🏻
@@JCKRGB awesome, thanks so much for the response
I'm still waiting for my product and have just been told (after several emails) there are 'delays' and they won't be shipped now till November. I've asked for a refund. I get the feeling this is a scam operation :-(
Is there any of these lenses that make it easier to shoot light sources without getting so much lens flares and ghosting?
CPL filter helps
Your cat?😊
Would like to see vids on smartphone off-device flash options (using device camera).
And it's the future.
hello, has cpl filter thread to mount nd filter on top?
No, the filters can’t be stacked. Thanks for watching! ✌🏻
Where can I find this kit of lens from?
It’s currently a project you can back and pre-order on Kickstarter, there’s a link in the description. Sometime after the Kickstarter ends the gear will be available to purchase from ShiftCam, but Kickstarter backers will get theirs first! Thanks for watching! ✌🏻
Nice kit but very happy with all my moments and I spent less than half purchasing open boxes and sales.
I backed on Kickstarter after seeing your video, no updates coming for over a month now. Shipping, although promised several times, is also not done and there is no info. Maybe fraud? Can you reach someone there?
Where can i find this whole kit , please tag the page or anything?
You can back it on Kickstarter! You can find it here 👉🏻 www.kickstarter.com/projects/shiftcam/lensultra-new-generation-of-mobile-lenses-for-ultra-clarity?ref=cg1glq
I have a question. Can the 75mm be used just as tele 60mm? I know it’s a macro lens, but it’s also a tele lens. I have found 0 videos or posts about it, people shoot only macro with, but I need longer range than 60mm, and looking to buy just for the longer range if it acts as good as 60mm.
can fit 15promax
There's not any huge changes with the 15 Pro Max so these should work fine! 🤞🏻
Which one is best for model portraits like 50 mm?
Telephoto 60mm the best
It’s so good! ✌🏻
@@JCKRGB I believe you 💚
Freewell Sherpa System Vs ShiftCam System ?
The comparison makes no sense whatsoever. Freewell Sherpa has so far one lens whilst Shiftcam has seven.
The only problem with this company who made this they're making these prices so expensive it's hard to buy this lenses
my iphone 13 pro makes much better pictures than ShiftCam lenses deliver. What am I doing wrong???
I was looking where i could buy this, and i couldn’t find it. I went to comment for link below, i went you channel page, web site… nowhere. so weird, are you making video just to show or you want to sell?? Doesn’t look like you wanna make money
There are links in the video description ✌🏻
Let’s not forget that Beastgrip, Sandmarc , Reeflex, Moondog Labs and Moment sell their lenses with lens caps for both rear and front lens (Moment provides caps for the rear lens only but they sell caps for front lenses separately )
Doesn’t that fact deserves to be mentioned in a review about the new Shiftcam lenses seeing that Shiftcam is the only company manufacturing professional lenses for iPhone that doesn’t provide lens caps for their lenses ?
To end: Let me state the obvious and list the importance of lens caps according to K& F Concept:
"A lens cap protects the lens from dust and debris. Dust and dirt can build up on the lens, reducing image quality and causing loss of focus. It can also cause scratches on the lens, leading to permanent damage."
It also protects the lens from moisture. "Moisture can cause the lens coating to degrade, reducing image quality."
A lens cap provides a barrier against bumps and scratches.
But he doesn’t mention the lack of lens caps in the kit, much less that it is a contra)
They protect the lens from UV rays. "Exposure to UV rays can cause discoloration and fading of the lens coating, which can reduce image quality and contrast.”
Yet, Shiftcam doesn’t provide lens caps for their lenses. Unlike Beastgrip, Moment, Sandmarc, Reeflex and Moondog labs. .
Who is going to pay over 1200$ for phone lenses honestly
Biggest down fall. Only iPhone compatible unless you wanna use their lens clip that you would get from a cheap phone lens company
This is a scam you send ShiftCam your money and get emails about being patient and no tracking number or nothing it’s a scam this guy is lying‼️‼️‼️‼️‼️
Somehow it feels like a copy to mkbhd :(. Good video but especially the style is literally like mkbhd does his stuff from time to time..
All backers be carefull! for the company shiftcam
On the webshop they offer free shipping from a certain amount but they will charge you enormous amounts if you back them here. I did the biggest pledge and they now change me $275,00 dollars just for shipping. This is a scam that they are running. So you do not get the discount they offer here. They just charge you a lot extra after they completed in the form of shipping cost.
What about a kit lens giveaway for your suscribers…. Good idea don’t you?
