The song "A Lot More Free" by Max McNown explores the emotional journey of moving on from a past relationship and finding personal growth and freedom in the process. In the first verse, the changing seasons serve as metaphors for the different stages of healing. The falling leaves and cold wind represent the end of a relationship, while the winter snow symbolizes the cover-up or burying of emotions. However, with the arrival of spring, depicted by the singing birds and blooming flowers, there is a sense of moving forward and renewal. The second verse delves into the pain and acceptance that comes with letting go of someone you once loved. The mention of the sun shining signifies the ability to find happiness and peace once the attachment to the past is released. The lyrics convey the idea that the healing process takes time, but the passing of time can eventually lead to healing and growth. The chorus reinforces the central theme of the song, expressing a mixture of hurt and newfound freedom. Despite the emotional pain experienced, the protagonist acknowledges that they now have a greater sense of independence and self-discovery. They have learned from the relationship, acknowledging that it had an impact on them, but now they see it as an opportunity for personal growth and liberation. In the third verse, the protagonist reflects on their perspective from a metaphorical mountain. They have gained a broader view of life and can see things more clearly. The description of rivers running like deep scars implies that the journey of healing has left its marks, but it has also carried life and experience. Surprisingly, the protagonist expresses gratitude for the pain they have endured, as it has played a significant role in their personal development. Overall, "A Lot More Free" portrays the bittersweet reality of heartbreak and the transformative power it can have. The song emphasizes the importance of letting go, embracing the pain, and ultimately finding freedom and growth in the aftermath.
Lost my husband of 42 years 3 weeks ago. Came upon this song and listened to it as a death instead of a breakup. It actually says exactly what I’m feeling! He had a long illness and I took care of him and now he is free and I am free of watching him suffer. I love this song in a different way than others. You will never know what this song means to me! Thank you! Thank you!
Just want to leave an encouraging message here! If you're struggling, hurting, lost, or feeling like giving up, keep going. Tell yourself one more day, embrace the pain, push through the pain, and grow through the pain. It is not going to be easy, but it is worth it. You are worth it. Jesus loves you when He died on the cross, He was thinking of you, He did it for you. No matter how you feel, what others say, or how hard life knocks you , he loves you more than anything.
Sunday, November 3, 2024-if you should read this in the future I want you to know that I had a beautiful day. My mother is happy. My family is happy. The sky is a beautiful blue. The leaves are turning golden brown. I am here. So are you. Take a breath. Go look at the sky. Look at the clouds. Fall in love. Live. Fall out of love. Look at the sky some more. Live again. I love all of you. May you all be blessed. ❤

I lost my son who was 35 he faught spinal musclear atrophy type 2 his whole life. He was not expected to survive this long. They gave him 6 months when he was 18 months old. He was my whole world. I took care of him his whole life so he wouldn't be put into a nursing home. He was my strength my light to shore. Now I don't have him anymore. Found this song by accident and it completely describes what I am and have gone through over the past 2 1/2 years. The timing of me stumbling across this song is amazing. Thank you to the singer $ song writer
You have a presence and ability which are tremendous. It is as though you are performing directly to every individual who watches you. I'm an instant fan, something I don't often say. And I am way beyond the age of what I imagine your usual audience might be.
lived with someone for 14 years with an alcohol problem. How I loved seeing that man, had 2 children together, I wanted so badly to help him, eventually had to make the choice to let him go or go down with him. Sometimes I feel guilty because I have very well and he is wasting away in the drink nothing helped
From the time I heard this on tik tok the first time, it spoke to me, and sent chills through me, I remember a relationship I was in, I was so in love with her, she kept doing things that hurt me, but love is blind, eventually, I finally left, after months of friends pushing me, I was hurt, but man the freedom, and the fresh air
This kinda gives me a Phil Collins vibes. We haven’t had any good Anthem Songs in a Long Time! Sooo different than anything out right now! Absolutely love it
I'm going through a legal separation where marriage counseling is not helping. Hard when 3 young children are also caught in the middle. Your song brings tears to my eyes. Thank you for expressing what I feel in this moment of my life.
You have spoken to my soul with this song. Everything thing is about what I'm currently going through. Thank you for messaging my feelings into words that help.
Good god, i have walked away from people in my life who have been shitty towards me for a long time, this song says everything i feel now, they are no longer in my life, just could not say the right words how it made me feel, this song says it all, my life is so much better now, thank you for this amazing song xx
This song has got me through chemo … stage 4 cancer no cure. But just before my diagnosis I was going through a lot of emotional pain and was losing my mind. In a way this cancer diagnosis freed me of all the things that don’t really matter. I feel free … I’m at peace after 42yrs of “life”
I, too, had stage 4 of an incurable cancer. Every day new advancements are being made. Gratefully I found a clinical trial and am 2+ years in remission! Never give up!
I thought about my mom who passed about a year ago. I didn’t have the best relationship with her. She hurt me and she was also kind and generous. I wished for a better relationship but that never came. Ever since her passing, I am more free even though I hurt. This song really resonates with my grief journey.
I experienced the same. My Mom wasn’t the most supportive or interested in me but she wasn’t a bad person. Losing her wasn’t too hard, sad but only because I yearned something that we weren’t. After she passed I have been feeling lighter, more relaxed, confident & generally better.
My mom died in April after being on hospice in our home for several months.. I was blessed to be able to have the time with her! I miss her something awful!
@iJoshEasonI get their reasoning. The song is about loss. You can apply it to the pain of witnessing someone you love that is sick and dying . And when they’ve finally passed & at peace, there is a freedom from the pain of witnessing it!
@@terrimcintyre4701so very true- wheb my mom passed I was more at peace because I knew she would be free from the pain and I would be free from not having to worry about her all the time and know she’s in heaven watching me.
@@michellewilliamsau same!! First, so sorry for the loss of your momma! My mom passed in February! My sister & I were with her when she took her last breath. She had lost her dignity & mobility. She was so tired of it all…that worrying about her seeing her decline was lifted after she passed. She is at peace & watching over us all! So yeah, “I’m a little bit hurt, but a lot more free!”❤
This song describes perfectly where I’m at right now. I’m so grateful for how I grew and also for this new chapter in my life. Thank you for letting me go. I’m learning more about myself and loving myself everyday. What a blessing ❤️🙏🏾

For what it's worth, I can finally see
That I'm a little bit hurt but a lot more free
Yeah, I'm a little bit hurt but a lot more free
From this mountain, I can see so far
Rivers running like deep, deep scars
Carrying the lifeblood through my veins
Is it crazy that I'm grateful for all the pain?
'Cause I'm a little bit hurt but a lot more free
I ain't sayin that you never took a toll on me

Found this song by accident and it completely describes what I am and have gone through over the past 2 1/2 years. The timing of me stumbling across this song is amazing. Thank you to the singer $ song writer
Tell me why I randomly heard this song in a restaurant by myself after a horrible break up. This song is deep and I felt it in my soul. Amazing song!
Is it crazy that I’m grateful for all the pain. Have this song on repeat…
Nice . Real Nice. Fantastic lyrics, gorgeous vocals and the harmonies are sublime. Thanks for This Wonderful Upload. Regards Frank
You have a presence and ability which are tremendous. It is as though you are performing directly to every individual who watches you. I'm an instant fan, something I don't often say. And I am way beyond the age of what I imagine your usual audience might be.
me too.
lived with someone for 14 years with an alcohol problem. How I loved seeing that man, had 2 children together, I wanted so badly to help him, eventually had to make the choice to let him go or go down with him. Sometimes I feel guilty because I have very well and he is wasting away in the drink nothing helped
You can only help so much until it's in their hands to do the rest!!! ♡
It was for the best for you and the kids. I know I was married to a drunk.
You're music is healing Matt
I cried
Life is too much
Love isn't easy these days 😢
Thank you for writing a true song. Don’t get lost in the fame. We need real easy songs like this. Music and words ❤
God, what a beautiful song ❤
My wife moved out 2 months ago. This song just hit me. But as the days go on, I'm a little more free. 😊
Stay strong brother 🙏🏽!!
Wow, this music is so refreshing to hear in today’ world. I feel like I stumbled on a pitcher of cold water in the middle of the desert.
Most underrated country singer out there

I feel free … I’m at peace after 42yrs of “life”
😇🙏
Wishing you the best. Your strength and personal power carries you. Much aloha.
I, too, had stage 4 of an incurable cancer. Every day new advancements are being made. Gratefully I found a clinical trial and am 2+ years in remission! Never give up!
What a incredible song and talent.
I stood in the rain and belted the chorus out off key and felt great afterward. #freeyourself
Brings me to tears. Love the emotions this brings to the surface for me
Love the harmonica & whistling fantastic song
He can write.
He can sing.
Thats all you need.
In life.
Even though I’m ending mine.
I hope his go’s far.
Along with anyone reading this. ❤
I really hope all is well with you... Wishing you all the best in life
Still with us? Trust me life is worth living.
@@joecherichello2428 My dad stopped me, then he killed himself. So ye, I'm still here.
@@Marigold976 I can relate to that.
My mom died in April after being on hospice in our home for several months.. I was blessed to be able to have the time with her! I miss her something awful!
🫶🙏😢
Didn't expect to be crying my eyes out at midnight....but its a healing cry. I will forever love this song.
I love that song, has a lot of meaning in it. Makes you want to cry! Has a true story.😢
The song has made me realize after 17 years and three kids I was NEVER going to be loved liked I wanted.😢 Thank you for helping me realize!!!!!!
Dont give up. There is someone out there for us all. I pray you find yours !
Sweet mama, there's someone out there who's going to love you for everything that man didn't. Keep your head up 🩷
Should have kept your legs closed then. Nobody wants a single mom. You decided your fate nobody else.
Incredible, powerful, wow. 😢❤😊
This is such a beautiful song. Thank you so much for this. You sing beautifully. ❤
You are amazing. Please never stop. Incredible all around
This song describes perfectly where I’m at right now. I’m so grateful for how I grew and also for this new chapter in my life. Thank you for letting me go.
I’m learning more about myself and loving myself everyday. What a blessing ❤️🙏🏾
