this is a lovely homestead.. simple and vintage.. I like the old stuff, built right and taken care of sometimes.. a little paint but not too much.. just some love and laughs and attention goes along way to make this the right home for anyone.. Beautiful to say the least!!!

I certainly share your dislike of Monsanto and all things corporate. However, until 6.7 acres brings in enough money to fund a retirement account and send three kids to college.....it's just a big hobby garden, not a 'farm'.

It also depends on what you consider as a living. The definition of a farm does not equate to size. There are many successful people with market gardens making a living. Maybe you should do some research and not despise small beginnings.
I'll bet whoever lived there had lots of great family gatherings, reminds me of when i was a child. But, lets not forget that not everyone got to experience it that way. Keep them in our prayers.
You're going to need to redo that roof whoever buys this house, keep that in mind. 3 tab roofs like this suck and you can even see that it's buckling near the step flashing.

Added insulation, triple glaze windows, energy efficient doors, energy efficient heating and cooling systems, energy efficient appliances, LED lighting, solar panels combined with battery storage and a electric vehicle charger in the garage or car park. People are too focused on the short term costs and miss out on long term savings. Blower door testing and air sealing are under appreciated tools.
