Eve was made into the "rotten apple" because a negative type of materialistic patriarchy had taken hold that is now coming to an end... but there is a healthier masculinity and femininity that can be understood and brought forth, if we want it to be.
Read this a few months ago, I get what you mean about it being life changing. That book arrived in a moment when I was thinking in my spirituality and the teachings she shares really resonated with me. Also, as a biologist, it was crazy interesting to read. I can't recommend it enough tbh
Sitting in a Circle was my favorite chapter too! It was such a fun read and I learned so much- who knew so many of the plants I grew up around were so useful for so many things!! And the last line, where the student wakes up with the sunrise, raises her arms and thanks the new day- this warmed my heart! I miss feeling that connected to the land and myself in that way.
I read this book probably once a year since I’ve discovered it. It’s also a huge inspiration and guiding source for my undergrad thesis :) thank you for sharing your perspective of the book, and for helping it reach more people!
thank you for this video! I read Braiding Sweetgrass a while ago and need to refresh my memory. While your insights closely resembled mine, I love and admire the level of care you took in deeply learning her stories to the extent that you can cite the chapters you were inspired by. I'm going to give it a re-read and hopefully, I can incorporate these lessons more fully as well!!
Hi, I´m just reading this book in spanish "Una trenza de hierba sagrada" and I can said that is amazing. I live in Doñana Natural Reserve in Andalusia, I work with students in this Natural Reserve and I think that this book is going to change my point of view about the relation between humans and the rest of nature.
Hola. Me encantó el libro. No sabía que esta traducido en español. Es una buena traducción? Algunas veces lo traducen literalmente como dice el libro y así no tiene sentido. Muchísimas gracias!
Thank you! I was curious about this book and you gave clear interesting sample texts. Exactly the information I was hoping to find. I’m looking forward to digging into this book on my own now! Thanks again!
I took a pacific coast highway road trip last summer and the audiobook for Braiding Sweetgrass was the perfect companion. I enjoyed hearing your take. Btw on the audiobook Kimmerer pronounced Potawatomi as Pah-tuh-wah-tuh-me.
Hello 👋🏾 from Ohio! I just received my book from Amazon! I am in a book club, I hope I discover something great like you did when I read it! Thank You for posting this❤
I never liked the story of Eve. Punishing women because we want more knowledge and power. I am glad women have gone far in history or herstory...
Me too ❤️😍
The Christian view of Eve very problematic. It’s not the same in all Abrahamic traditions.
Eve was tempted by Satan to sin and leading adam to sin as well. That's different from wanting to obtain knowledge.
