I actually loved the jorts and brown top 😭maybe I would take a few inches off of the jorts but longer shorts are just so much more comfortable for me

I don’t think the genre can recover. I never had a long denim skirt. I kind of wanted one but never found ont that was flattering. And I had a good shape. Something about the lines looked bad on my mostly straight waist.

outfit three - my ugly postsoviet childhood where everyone wore those ugly dark blue sports pants with white stripes on the sides - from grannies and grandpas to little children ugh and for sure those criminal groups love this style still/
cant look at it without cringing - and here we are some stylists and fashion gurus with the same childhood trauma brought it all back for last 4 years to the world fashion agenda and people who didn't see it like Americans are - oh wow so fashionable so nice 😵🥴

The streetwear fit, absolutely. I actually really liked the Sophie Richie look on you. From this side of the screen, everything about it was lovely. I love these videos. I have a serious Pinterest habit and that is the thought that constantly runs through my head when I fall in love with an image - is the OUTFIT good or is it just a really well executed posed picture? Ultimately we can’t know for sure until we see it on US, but it saves a lot of disappointment and self criticism when we can look at the images more critically in the first place.

i think with some of these outfits it would look really good, its just not the right colour? i find this irl with a lot with my friends is that they look so good in these outfits but it doesnt look as good on me because we have different skintones and hair colour. i.e. my friend looks good in oranges but i CANNOT wear almost any orange but i can wear the same top in blue and it would look great. and also some outfits just suit different body proportions more too. i think a lot of looking good in clothes is finding a colour palette and like fits/cuts that suit your body
You’re 100% right!! I’m such a big believer in both colour and body type analysis and wearing the right clothes for you! For fairness sake I wanted to replicate them exactly as they were on the influencer but there’s no doubt different colours etc would make a huge difference!!
Most of them just SCREAM low quality fast fashion, the materials are just bad. (I think the blue vest would be worth tailoring for you, definately would be cute if it was more your size!)

I think the penultimate outfit works well, but would work better with some darts at the waist. It's a bit too boxy. A tailor could do this for you easy.

I think it’s important to consider body types. Not everything will good on everyone. So this is inaccurate if you’re trying to see if the outfits work. But it’s great for people with your body type. And my body type is similar

I actually think most of the fits translated - not saying I'm a fan of all but the scores were definitely biased to what they would personally wear / want to see others wearing. Pretty much only basic fits have hopes of getting a 10

For outfit one, I grew up in a very strict church where women had to wear long modest skirts and a lot of women opted to wear denim skirts like that. I genuinely had nightmares at least once a week of not being able to run away from someone while wearing a skirt just like that - or even the denim PENCIL skirts were a literal fear of mine

Oh my gosh... I feel so dumb, but i just stumbled upon your channel and this was the first video, then I watched two other Instagram v Reality videos that featured Jem.
Being borderline face-blind and unaware of the chronological order, all I could keep thinking was "wow, she completely lost her American accent! I wonder if they still think she has one?"
To my utter shock, no one else was commenting on this, so i came back to listen to her accent again and see how long ago this was...to find this to not only be a year in the future, but a completely different person 😅

I think the black lace pants would look better flared and not cropped with the same shirt but crop it because I don’t like that the triangle part of the shirt goes over the pants, if it was cut straight across I think it would look better. I love the black lace though, just hate the cut of both pieces

Lovely video but the quality of ALL the clothes is so poor. Influencers are really selling everyone trash… The vest suit doesn’t translate because to make that look work the tailoring must be impeccable. But because the clothes are so poorly made and in such a bad material, it’d cost more and not be worth tailoring.
