Ok ~~~. Six years ago. Yes yes yes. The only word: Brilliant. For what it is worth, for me here in New Hampshire at this moment. Brilliant. Oh my goodness! Thank you so much for this.. I hope all is well for you and your loved ones. Wow! ✨🌸🙏🌸✨
Brilliant! Well done, Solway. The "latch key" strut assembly is very clever. This is the first up close look I've seen of this trimaran. Thank you, David.
Terrific video David! Would love to see another by you showing just the sail rig ... especially all of the block, tackle, cleats, etc., up close. That would be very helpful.
Isn't he aware of Hobie's Adventure and Tandem Islands? Rotating mast (ie completely furlable sail, pedal drive, built in centreboard, sealed hull, foldable amas (no need to disassemble to fit on a trailer) etc etc. Here's mine
Yes and wildly over priced for what they actually are... They are also pretty slow and wet enough that you may as well sit in the water. I think Hobie was on to a good idea when they designed it originally. It is too bad they haven't went about improving the design really whatsoever. If you go buy one, spec it out nicely, get a trailer for it, you will be near 10k. There are too many superior options for that price range. I built a superior option (a Dierking designed Tamanu) for about 15% of that.
That has to be one of the worst examples of boat launching that I have ever seen. If the sail was larger, or if there was a bit more wind, he could have said goodbye to his boat.

That is the cutest tri. Really like the shape.
It would be nice if you could use your dolly as the leeboard. Nice video, thanks.
