  • Japanese house "Shirakawa-go Gassho-zukuri" Gifu Prefecture, Japan.
"Shogawa-river" in northern Gifu Prefecture, Japan.
In the middle reaches of this river, Shirakawa-go and Gokayama, the beautiful landscapes of Japan that are proud of to the world, spread out.
This gassho-zukuri village with its beautiful scenery was registered as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1995 as a cultural heritage site as "Shirakawa-go and Gokayama Gassho-zukuri Village".
The season when Gassho-zukuri is most beautiful is the midwinter.
Looking at the entire village, the majority of the roof faces face east and west.
By doing this, the sun's rays are received evenly and the snow melts quickly.
It is said that the reason why there are three villages registered as World Heritage Sites is to show the diversity of the villages: the large village of Shirakawa-go, the medium-sized village of Ainokura, and the small village of Suganuma.
You can see each culture and beautiful original scenery in the three villages.
I am truly grateful that our predecessors gathered their wisdom to survive the heavy snowfall and handed down this landscape to the present day.
    Thanks for watching!
    Everyone who visited Japan!
