Fuck do I feel old watching these Live & Kicking clips. How can so many years have elapsed since this fantastic family entertainment show left our screens. Bring it back for the new generation of kids I say, it's got to be better then the dull cookery programmes that greet us on Saturday mornings nowadays!
I remember all of this. I also remember the other feature they had which involved a video game and callers shouting out instructions like "down, left, left, right!"
I was born a bit late to fully remember Live and Kicking in it's prime. I have vague memories of watching it one morning shortly before SM:tv started, and then we started watching SM:tv pretty much straight away if I remember correctly. I used to turn over to the final series to watch Monster Rancher until it ended and then I remember we watched the last L&K briefly.
I wish they could find some way of broadcasting old programmes on TV with the original continuity and adverts. I still wonder how they did the Electric Dreams documentary. I have an SM:tv from October 98 with B'Witched-Rollercoaster on.
Zoe and Jamie really were the heart of Live & Kicking and gave it atmosphere and fun. It’s a shame just one year later with a new team how the show went downhill.
Saturday Mash Up on CBBC is the current show. It will be back in the autumn. It's a very modern show but there are many elements that have their roots firmly in the past. Living the Dream even uses the same titles as Cloud 9. There's full screen graphics for the live performances, simillar set, a voiceover person, a bit of gunge (now called slime) and loads more simillarities if you look for them. Sometimes it seems a bit over rehearsed these days but Saturday morning TV in 2023 is definitely alive and well (kicking).
Even as a kid I found it weird that they showed Lois & Clark on Live & Kicking. I know it's still Superman and kids are going to watch it, but some of it was a bit grown-up for Saturday morning.
Shit me. Even though this was only about 20 years ago, the whole culture of TV kids entertainment has changed massively. In fact, do they even do this kind of shit anymore? Are today's kids just on their mobiles Snapchatting? Fuck me. Glad I had proper kids TV growing up like!
@Neil Godfrey Which puts You in the minority, SMTV was a crap show and the content was inappropriate for its target audience and Ant and Dec were the worst presenters, As for L&K Katy Hill, Trey Farley, Ortis and Sarah Cawood were the best presenters, not the duo of Zoe and Jamie.
I just shed a tear due to the substantial amount of nostalgia in this video.

Oh, the memories! This was worth getting up early for! I miss it so much! This was the greatest Saturday morning kids show, ever! EVER!
Oh how this takes me back in time... happy, happy days

I remember watching this exact episode on TV and getting mad at that B*Witched song lol,
That's a classic 1998 Saturday morning opener right there! Where did those days go?! Things are just too blooming miserable these days!
Saturday Mashup Live back in the autumn on CBBC

This kind of show should be back. Ok, so I'm 30 now I know, but there has to be something more enjoyable to watch than Saturday Kitchen

Great memories, 13 years old, laying in bed doing fuck all, zero responsibilities
LOVE THE TITLE MUSIC
Boyzone, All saints, the rugrats, Kenan and Kel, B*witched. I think 1:35 sums up how it is now. 'It's not like the old days'.
I still remember the phone number after all this time
081 8118181?
Anyone know the song at 1:22? Also featured in the generic trails among other things...
I LIVED for Lois & Clark at that point (I was about 5 or six).
Fully Booked and L&K never aired at the same time - FB was 22 weeks over the summer, L&K 30 weeks throughout the winter months.
1: 31, that is Kathy Burke
The Rugrats episode was "Angelica Orders Out"
It's the instrumental of Alda - Real Good Time.
Thank Christ it went off when bewitched came on.

It was on before Live and Kicking started in the morning.
Yes, it was never a children's show! But for some reason it did just sort of work at 830 on a Saturday morning.
oh my god MITCH for the win
Love it
Rip mr onion
I think the guy that says “you’re so right” now plays old man Barry from the Steve Wright radio show and the new Noel Edmonds tv show
Barry from Watford I meant
No, that’s Ben Ward. He’s a comedy writer who helped bring back Danger Mouse
Good times
Now the poor guy been diagnosed with cancer

Martine McCutcheon?
That's the one!
is that Lilly Allen at 1:31 XD
@VideoGameSoundtracks looks like Kathy Burke to me
Wrong sign of BBC's TVC!
Nah before her. It's whats her face that used to be in Eastenders?
Omg
SM:TV used to kick Live and Kicking’s arse towards the end. I remember all the best Guests and Boybands choosing Ant and Dec. It was funnier tho.
Neil Godfrey Only after Zoe and Jamie left.
