He was the most sane. Clear sighted that evil is real and must be eradicated and could never accept anything short of slaveries completes destruction. John Brown is one of the few real American hero's and one of the few that deserves emulating

Ethan Hawk is without a doubt one of the most underappreciated actors in Hollywood... has been around for decades, has a lot of very solid performances on his resume and has hold his own next to recognized legends... but you never hear him being named in conversations about great Hollywood actors... and he definitely should be.
It took a lot of heart and balls for John Brown to do what he did back then. Sacrificed not only himself but also his sons for people other than himself in a time where that was completely unheard of. He could’ve just sat back and enjoyed the fruits of other people’s labour. Salute to the man and his family. An extremely rare breed. I hope this series does his name justice
John Brown in this country, has always been considered as a villain, terrorist and crazy. Even in school ( I grew up in Va, not far from W Va and took field trips to Harpers Ferry) when we learned about him, it was always in a negative light. Him and Nat Turner. My father taught me otherwise.
@@nicolesmith5240 also glad your pops was able to tell you the real story! That’s so incredibly important… we need to be more involved with these kids and tell them the truth 💥

Love this song “Electric Powwow Drum” by a tribe called Red! It’s been in my playlist for 2 yrs now and it’s a perfect match with this movie. Absolutely!🤗
Ethan Hawk is such a brilliant actor. He had so many good movies and it`s really sad that we can`t see him inside more new movies. Hey hollywood give him more roles !!!!!!!
Have you seen the movie, “Tape” with Ethan Hawks? It’s crazy because the entire movie takes place in a motel room and there’s absolutely no action. Its all dialog between two friends and Ethan’s acting in that movie was just off the charts. He plays psychological mind games with his friend, lol It’s one of my favorite Ethan Hawks movies.
Damn this was such a good show, I wanna give it a rewatch now, sad that not many people before or after this even knew who he was, he took a stand for what's right when the whole world called him crazy for it, if that isn't integrity then idk what is. Also, Ethan Hawke was outstanding on this role, I couldn't imagine anyone else for it, if this was a movie then he should have won an oscar.
Everything about this trailer is incredible. The music, the speech, the text “.44 caliber abolitionist” I’m 3 episodes in. Decent show. Ethan Hawke’s acting alone makes it enjoyable. Incredible actor.
John Brown is one of the greatest Americans who ever lived - though obviously a complicated character like all of us - not sure how I feel about portraying him as a sort of enthusiastic eccentric gunslinger, when all writings seem to indicate that he was very well mannered and respected... But I think the most important part is not sugar-coating the sort of violence required to combat injustice, and how John went from being a pacifist to brutal terrorism.
Agreed. I bet about 10% of this is true. John Brown was more of a peaceful person that resorted to violence to get his message across. Too bad they had to go comical with it. Oh well.

I hope this show does well, but I'm thinking it might not since few people today even know who John Brown was. It looks good as hell to me, though! I will be watching.
You know what Ethan Hawke is always getting better and this series is one of his best so far. But then Squid Game guy Lee Jung Jae is nominated alongside of him in the same acting award spot and that left me speechless, seriously. I would want Ethan Hawke get Gotham this year but I think I'm going for Lee Jung Jae. No hurt feelings. They are both real good actors. Just not the right timing

i expected the show to have written John Brown as a white savior trope but after finishing the whole season, it was really good. the acting, cinematography and writing was well done and had intense emotions just as much as dark humour
