Secondly, 60 volumes covered in half an hour! That's quite the haul, (although a quick look through your other haul videos suggests it might actually be a little less than averagae🤣) and at quite the pace! Looking forward to hearing more about a few of them next week! Especially Cannibal!
Do you have any tips on collecting manga that makes things a little easier on the wallet in general? I've wanted to pick up 20th Century Boys ever since I read Monster, but it's hard for me to convince myself to drop the $150 or so total that I've seen it going for only to turn around and do the same thing again a week or two later after I've finished it for the next series I'll end up wanting to read immediately after! I could read some of them digitally I guess, but I want to own the physical copies of them damn it!🤣 I thought that box sets might be the way to go, but every one that I've found has been significantly more expensive than just collecting the volumes individually! I also have really wanting to pick up all of Parasyte as well, but I'm not sure whether to go for the full color editions or just the regular. From what I've seen, the full color volumes are much more pricey, but they're hard covers and have the added benefit of being in color!🤣 Although I'm not even sure if they've finished releasing the full color volumes yet or not.😅
All I managed to pick up this past month was a very modest five volumes... I think(time is wierd😂) PTSD Radio, No Longer Human, and The Music of Marie. I'm not quite finished with No Longer Human. It certainly isn't a fun read but it is really interesting! It's so complex and downright tragic, I feel like they could offer a college level course just on the themes and psychology on display in it!
The Music of Marie on the other hand was absolutely fantastic! It's a relatively simple story, but it's written and executed to perfection! It sucked me in and I almost immediately formed an emotional investment in the characters. It very nearly had me in tears at the end! Somehow, I completely missed the "twist". I even noticed all of the little hints we got along the way, but somehow never put two and two together! When they all posed for the picture at the beginning, I was like, hmm that's strange. Kai isn't in it. I wonder what that means? And at the end when Kai and Pipi are walking to the docks, I immediately noticed only Pipi was leaving foot prints in the snow. Once again I thought that's odd, but what does it mean?! I knew there was something special/different about Kai directly related to Marie, but I just couldn't figure it out! I thought maybe he's an android or something like that, but knew that wasn't really a satisfactory explanation and only one bit of evidence pointed in that direction. And reading through those last two chapters... man they totally got me right in the feels! It was a ten out of ten, five stars, excellent all the way through!
I’m trying to make 60 mangas closer to my average this year…can’t spend so much on manga (well I can…but I shouldn’t 🤣).
Oh boy, well I don’t think I have much help for you there…I spend so much on manga 😭 but I can’t keep myself!! I do try and look for lots of older series on eBay sometimes you get a nice deal on chunks of series or complete series…and waiting for some deals on sites…but yeah collecting manga is no joke on your wallet I’m afraid.😅
Oh great!! I’m so so happy you loved Music of Marie!! Same here I was totally suspecting something was up with him things were not adding up, but the ending twist still got me didn’t expect it, and totally made me emotional…😭 So happy to hear you felt the same way!!
@@MizzMangaChatz Ok, well thank you for the advice you were able to give me! I kinda figured that's how it was, but I thought, maybe there was something I was overlooking. I figured if anyone had any tips you would considering the size of your collection! I haven't really given Ebay much of a look (I have this inane hesitancy to shop on sites like that and Mercari for some reason😅), but I suppose it's worth checking out. I've found that Alibris usually has the cheapest prices and they frequently give $20 or $15 off for spending over a certain amount. I can usually get free shipping from there too so that's the way I've been purchasing my manga. Oh well... my leg sleeve is practically done though so that will free up roughly a grand a month in the very near future. Picking up any series that interest me should pale in comparison to that! Hopefully 🤣

I am not sure but it can't hurt: YES, READ LILLABY OF THE DAWN but pmease up to zhe end of vol 4. Why? It is as good as Mizz Manga sad ✨️ and there is the bigges fu...clifhangr that will make you swear and want more!
So technically Until the Full Moon is complete at two volumes, but years later the author continued the series. (@ the full moon). I would definitely call it complete at two volumes as the story line has wrapped up (but it continues well in the sequel). The art is VERY different from the original to the sequel. You won't be able to tell from the boysenberry release but the tokyopop re-release has some new panels and I think a new chapter and the change in art is a bit jarring :)
Yakuza in love is cute(?). Lol. Deux released some interesting series when it was active and left some series when it went under that will most definitely NOT get another english license.
Kiss all the boys was good...I think it is in the same universe as Play Boy Blues (which was not completed in english), and Punch Up...but it's been a while so I maybe remembering incorrectly.
I love I shall never return as well! It is definitely angst and drama. There was an OVA that got an English release that I enjoyed. I haven't heard from anybody else who has read it, so I would love to see your take (even if negative) when you get around to it.

Oooh ok well maybe I’ll just have those 2 vols of Until the Full Moon and call it a day then 🤣 unless you think it’s worth checking out! But, if it kind of wraps up the story enough I might be satisfied with the series as is.
I read the first volume!! It was cute (?) 🤣 I can tell it’s going to get darker but zi love Yakuza BL the darker themes and romance just go so well for me hahaha
I’d love to do a video on older BL series at some point, so I’ll definitely read it and share my feelings on it whether I like it or not, but I love me my angst so I’m hopeful I’ll enjoy it!! 😁
Right now, I am loving 10 Dance. It's torturing me that I can't buy it quickly because I'm prepping for a move. But it is absolutely fantastic, great slow burn BL. I've finished through volume 4.
