Ill just say that 06 is why i got back into sonic since the Sega genesis (i thought sonic died with the console cause i was young and got other games). Then i got a PS3 and that was the game that my mom got from a used games section or something. Since it was the first of PS3 games i got most of it was passed from the issues people pointed out about it (didn't use internet until 2010 and even then it was the talking fruit only then valve showed up with the TF2 shorts and one thing led to another now i mostly play on PC) and the one thing i will still defend about 06 is the story in the end unlike unleash if anything. The whole origin of the chaos emeralds didn't feel as epic imo about it being keys to keeping a generic planet monster from doing something bigger. Making Eggmans motive to destroy the planet so he could use one chunk to make his theme park as well as harness/control Dark Gia with no real plan on how to control Gia himself. Also that reveal about Chip was ineffective to the player since nothing is really explained about him that well, and what i mean about that is how did this go the first couple of times that Dark Gia was resealed with Chip doing all that he could do. I could go on a bit about that but that might be for another time, maybe in Danny's discord in the description. Join it, we have sonic memes.
I think in a certain way some of your old points and your new ones complement each other Old Danny be like "Mephiles is a narcissistic who see himself above others because he believe himself to be Solaris and this is why he want to become complete" Current Dany is like "Mephiles IS Solaris, but he see himself as incomplete which is the point of fusing with Iblis and there's no mention of he being narcissistic, but he definitely have a grandiose complex" If you put both together you get something like "Mephiles see himself as Solaris because he technically is Solaris but incomplete, which is why he can't be completely narcissistic besides having no confirmation of that, but he sure do have a grandiose complex because of that and see himself above which can be seen as narcissism, ultimately seeking to achieve completion to become his "true" self."
