I just don't like sliding blurays in and out of cardboard slots, because despite supposed "scratch resistance", blurays can in fact, scratch. Plus, fingerprinting. I'm a stickler for keeping my discs mint condition, so what I do is use slimline jewel cases for the discs. Otherwise, excellent box.
I honestly can’t agree with that. I’ve had slip cases for years and not a single scratch. Different strokes for different folks. Thank goodness, we have access to so many custom made cases for different releases. Made specifically to accommodate everyone’s personal choice of packaging. It’s a great time to be a fan of physical releases. Anything you want replaced, you most likely can acquire.
Still yet to dig into my set but looking forward to starting them once I catch up on my backlog of 88 Films shaw movies. Glad to see you liked the collection.
Yes it's a fantastic set. I have not delved into mine anywhere near as deeply as you have so look forward to continuing to do that. Also looking forward to see what the inevitable next Shaw Bros volume will give us ....
The music cd’s are what i’m most interested in (having collected a good amount of shaw scope on vhs in the early 90’s, and the fact i still produce for the hip hop community(beat making)). Cheers Graham for the review, its a bit of a bug on the bank account, but im still watching closely. 👍🏻❤️
The Boxer From Shantung is the daddy of the set. The Crippled Avengers is the funky kid brother. King Boxer is the daddy Mac. Heroes of the East is funny and badass. Chinatown Kid is the deserved Alexander Fu Sheng masterclass. That's me top 5. Shaw Bros and Golden Harvest are my favourite comfort flicks along with Gialli and Eurocrime. What's not to like?
I finally pulled the trigger on this set, sale price I couldn't pass on. I'm really looking forward to making my way through all these great films.
It’s fantastic. Some absolute crackers. I’ve not got Vol 2 yet, but I will.

@@CinematicDependency To each his own.
@Simon Dann Plus you might rip the cardboard to pull them out. I mean, you're paying so much anyway, why not put plastic hubs inside?
@@yournamehere6002 I absolute agree, guys. To each their own. ✌️
I hope you do a review like this for vol 2
Oh I will, once I actually get the set.

Loved it, real mix of films as well. Can not wait for Vol. 2.
I’ve still got several 88 shaw a to watch.

The only thing I know about Vol 2 is that it has 14 movies and one of them is the boxers Omen.
@@manvfilm I've already pre-ordered it in my mind! 🤤

Realistically it’s 12 films and 2 CD’s so it really is good value, it’s just a lot to shell out on at once.
@@manvfilm i’m kidding myself..i’ll deffo be adding it to the collection. Long overdue!! 👍🏻❤️
Great box set - looking forward to volume 2 - I would like them to include some HK horror too
I believe the boxers omen is one of the titles, so maybe a couple more like that would be awesome.

I am so ready for volume 2.
For my shame. Have had the set since release day and not started watching them yet. I really need to start and also catch up on your reviews
Look on the bright side, you have all that goodness still to consume.
@@manvfilm oh yes LOL :)
Graham please cheak out Return to the 36 chambers of Death I recommend ,👍
Will do, maybe it’ll be on volume 2.
