I love Jack hanna. He plays dumb but I know he is so smart. I love his sense of humor so so much!! If u see his wikipedia he went to 4 different colloges.
I would just like to say, the amount of schools you go to isn’t an indicator of how smart a person is. One could’ve easily dropped out and reapplied to another school
@@Lolmonster777 He wouldn't be teh director of a zoo and make films for National Geographic if he was dumb. He's just trying to be funny to make it more enjoyable
I read somewhere that Hanna also did a few appearances on "The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson" but, in quantity, if this were the case, they would have been surely dwarfed by his Letterman appearances - never mind the two animal handlers Carson usually had, Jim Fowler and Joan Embery. (The latter of whom would go on to appear on the Leno Tonight show from time to time.)
Jack Hanna is colombus zoo version of Michael Scott from office 😂 I bet he did ask for saddle on miniature horse and his employee version of Pam just said yes and packed a normal saddle because they don't make miniature saddle but Michael won't listen ...
DAMN, WE WERE ALL YOUNG ONCE... never understood why Letterman didn't give Jack more time instead of rushing him around... rather see animals than people.
He is a mess but that's part of what he does it's called controlled mess ups. He knows a lot about animals but didn't show it on here wanted it to be intertianing while showing people the animals and Dave being scared when the animal moved any. Love these clips of these two and the animals
Until Jack Hanna, I thought zoo directors had a MS or PhD in biology or some other science related to animals. I thought for a long tome Jack was just putting David on about kowing nothing about animals. He loves animals and he turned that zoo around. I do not know if he started the cheetah breeding program or not and I do not know if it is still there but the breeding program was great. They had the best cheetah breeding program in the US. When we were at the Columbus Zoo, Jack was fixing ti take the twin gorillas on the road and we saw the gorillas but not Jack. The zoo was clean, crowded with people and all of the animals looked well fed and cared for. We had a dog with us and, of course, the fog was not allowed in the zoo. The keepers let us park in the shade near the entrance so we could go check on the dog and they let us in and out of the zoo to do it and made sure we had water for him. I really laughed at all the chaos around Letterman's desk when he brought predator and prey animals in at the same time. It is a wonder he and Letterman did not get hurt. Letterman got in tbere and wrangled the animals along with Hanna. A large cat would growl at Letterman and in 5 minutes he was grabbing the cat to save a bird or other small mammal. If they rehearsed the segments, it did not show. Jack even swore a few times.
I strongly believe that the only qualification Jack has to be a director of a zoo is that he loves animals. And that's all that matters. I guess. A supreme, albeit unintentional, entertainer.
From what I was told by people who lived in Columbus before he took over the zoo it wasn't exactly clean or pretty but he helped turn it around. Made it known that the Columbus Zoo was a good zoo by going on Letterman and GMA. Basically he used good marketing. In 2011 he helped Ohio police capture several animals. He grew up on a farm though with a dad who was a vet. I think he knows his stuff it's just that he wants to get out all this information in such a short period of time and cant always do that when he has a wild animal next to him and when someone's asking questions. Also part of it might just be a joke playing dumb whem he really isn't
Thank you Jack Hanna for letting us see the world through the eyes of the animals. Fight hard and stay blessed
Oh my gosh...there is nothing like these 2 together. Pure comedy! lol

We need a 24 hour livestream of Dave and Jack hanging out with random animals
Jack could have been a model. Absolutely GORGEOUS. Also sweet, kind and intelligent
love dave miss him
I thought it was so sweet how emotional Hanna got - Letterman obviously is fond of him : )
About as fond as Carson was of, say, Joan Embery?

This visit has all of the essential pieces...Jack making stuff up on the spot, clusterf*cks of animals, animal deification, David running for cover
DAMN, WE WERE ALL YOUNG ONCE... never understood why Letterman didn't give Jack more time instead of rushing him around... rather see animals than people.
