My uncle introduced me to AOE1 when I was only 2/3. I still remember my first "you are victorious" haha. Grew up playing the entire series and hold AOE in high regard. AOE1, 2, AoM and 3 were all great
@@philnone1004 some guy on AoE heaven got dawn of man and he streamed a gameplay of it Sadly that foolish haven't shared the archive with AoE heaven users.
I didn't play Age of Empires, but I did play Age of mythology, to bad I was spoiled because someone said "pandora's box" was something you could use; so I cheated the entire game. But I felt in love with those kind of games so I play rise of nations and the old cesar's games made by sierra.
Honestly, thank god they revamped this whole idea and made it into the Age of Empires game we know these days. This early prototype is interesting but it looks too much like a weird mix of Stronghold, The Sims and Civilization all in just one place, in fact, I think Bruce Shelley and a few other developers did work in the first Civilization game before creating Age of Empires.
Maybe there are no new releases, but the old games continue to live on! Check out Age of Empires II, it's still really large these days, including tournaments, modding, twitch streamers, youtube videos - and of course the corresponding online communities.
Age of Empires Definitive Edition came out just last year and people are making content and mods for classic AOE up to this day. The game still has a following it's just not as big as it used to be. And AOE2 comunity is MASSIVE, and was actually booming a couple of years ago. It just cooled down a bit but AOE2 tournaments are still being held and thanks to AOEDE AOE1 and ROR plus DE also have minor tournaments ocasionally at AOE2 events.

Age of empires was probably one of my favorite pc games to play
Damn. This is one of my all time favourite franchises.
The game design sounds a lot more like what Stronghold became.
I hope this prototype is able to be made public some day, would love to tinker around with it
If only it wasn't given to a cheap museum! I mean hell like what's the point if it's kept there if no one else can see it right?

I love the age of empires series and have been playing it most of my life
This man has a fucking treasure.

Mr. Sarcastic yea I used “Isis hear my plea” and would use all of the heroes. Demigod Arkantos was cool.
Please let there be more of this series. It's awesome.
Can you download this somewhere?
What is the most recent game informer magazine? I HAVE THE ACO EDITION. Is there a new 1???
To bad we can't have access to this demo. It would be lovely to see some of these buildings and unites in an AOE mod.

What a great discovery
This alpha sounds like Stronghold, the Sims, and Civ had a baby.
Nice seeing this teeths in 1080p Full HD.
Has this prototype ever been leaked yet? Stuff like this should be documented on Unseen64 and Cutting Room Floor!
He's like a competent Ben Pack
Really fascinating!
How can i get it? :(
