  • Hi everyone - we have an exciting project I’m starting today! This is my new Read Around the World journal, where I’ll be tracking all the reading I’m doing. My goal is to read a book by an author from each country.. and if I can’t find that I’m hoping to find a book that takes place in that country.
I am including 197 countries in this reading journey - I pulled my list from www.countries-....
I originally saw the idea for the project from Courtney on Tiktok (linked her account below) where she’s reviewing and talking about each book. I also found a few Book Tubers to get some book recommendations from who also have worked on this project before:

    / @bookishrealm
    / courtneyhenningnovak
A big shout out to Psychonaut Journaling for being the ONLY other person I could find who’s done a specific reading journal for this project: • Reading Around the Wor...
She is another great resource on how you could set up a bujo for this project!
Journaling Notebook is Archer & Olive (I used the A5, 192 pages): www.archerando...

I broke down each section by continent:
    North America (23 countries)
    South America (12 countries)
    Africa (54 countries)
    Asia (48 countries)
    Europe (46 countries)
    Oceania & Australia (14 countries)
I left space for two books per page to review between each new continent.
Any other questions on how I set it up, what I used, or anything please let me know! I would love to hear any book recommendations you have for each country too if you have some.

Loved this! I’ve had an idea like this in my head for awhile and the way you set it up makes so much sense and helps me envision what I want to do for mine eventually. Keep us updated!!
I’d recommend The Vampires of El Norte by Isabel Cañas for Mexico. Great audiobook!

Loved your video. I enjoyed seeing your local trips, I live in the same area and have jotted down some of the places to check out in the future!

Kenya: “The River Between” by Ngũgĩ wa Thiong'o
Nigeria: “Purple Hibiscus” by Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie
The Dominican Republic: “The Farming of Bones” by Edwidge Danticat
Spain: “The Shadow of the Wind” by Carlos Ruiz Zafón

If you are looking for ideas for books check out Lullabies for Little Criminals by Heather O'Neill. It's a fantastic book set in Montreal by a Canadian author!

This looks so awesome! I've been wanting to do something like this for so long so thank you for this extra boost of inspiration🙂 As a recovering perfectionist, I understand that fear of beginning (part of the reason I haven't done it yet) and am really happy you did it anyway. I'm excited to follow along with your journey!
