    Ash Wood keeps me warm in winter.. If I can get it to burn, it's hard.

    I have 1 that has self seeded had about 3 years in a pot over 7 feet, unsure if to put in a sloping back garden

    Are Fraxinus Excelsior and Fraxinus Excelsior Aurea the same tree?

      Bit of a late answer to your question but they are the same genus and species yes (effectively the same tree) but ''Aurea' is a cultivar meaning it was a cultivated strain which likely appeared in nature or in a garden and a grower/horticulturist propagated it to keep the golden colouring as a cultivated tree. That's the case for all cultivars - plants you buy in garden centres which have been grown for specific foliage or flowers from unusual genetic strains seen in the wild or from strains found in collections. It is effectively the same tree though think of it as a subspecies.
