Just so you know there is another Madoka Magica movie (originally scheduled for release this year) coming out next year that will most likely wrap up the main franchise. Though there is plenty of spinoffs.

The 1st teaser of/for Walpurgis Rising literally says "the beginning of a new chapter" and literally nothing relating to a end, so, I doubt it, it's also too literally completely much of a masterpiece to be ended imo. But, who knows, the staff/ads and marketing, literally, everything, for Madoka Magica is extremely (in)famous for tricking their audience and giving/setting extremely major false expectations for/to the fans/audience and in general.
Ok! So at the end of the series the universe is rewritten so that when magical girls succumb to despair Madoka as the Law of Cycles takes them away with her and the girl dies but never suffers becoming a witch. Mami and Kyoko are the only magical girls left because Madoka doesn’t exist and Sayaka succumbed to despair and was taken. Homura explained to Kyubey the concept of Witches from the last universe and the species got interested. The new system of energy collection is to fight Wraiths but it’s slow and Witches are theoretically much more efficient to the Kyubeys. So when Homura eventually succumbed to despair the Kyubey isolated her soul gem so the Law of Cycles couldn’t come and collect it. Homulily, the witch, is made inside her gem and her labyrinth of ideal happiness invites the people she cares about inside, including the Law of Cycles in Homura’s most ideal form of desire: Madoka.
In the end, Homura with the containment field destroyed is supposed to be collected by the Law of Cycles by instead breaks from it the part that used to be Madoka, and takes the rest for herself. She rewrites the universe so that Madoka can exist. I think the Law of Cycles still exists Madoka just isn’t part of it anymore. How? My theory is that since her original wish was for the power to save Madoka, everytime Madoka got stronger she became stronger as well so she always theoretically has the power to save her. But that’s where this movie ends and the upcoming one starts: Madoka feels like she is bound for something beyond her life, Sayaka (and presumably Bebe) need to return to their afterlife in the Law of Cycles because they shouldn’t exist, and Homura knows that she will have to fight everyone to keep her ideal world when everyone else who is aware something is wrong wants to send Madoka back to the Law of Cycles
So the reason why Mami and Kyoko were still alive is because in the original series both of their deaths happened fighting witches, bebe and sayaka respectively(Bebes witch though her head looked like cheese so nom), so since witches no longer exist those two are still alive in madoka's rewritten universe.
It's been a while but yeah lol Mami is generally the strongest magical girl of the quintet. (Madoka's god-mode aside)
Most of Homura's experience comes from running time loops over and over again where she's trying to save Madoka and defeat Walpurgisnacht and she wasn't actively trying to fight the rest of them during that time. She's still very skilled but there's an experience gap.
Mami is considered a veteran magical girl even before we meet her in the main series. I don't know if I'm vaguely remembering stuff from the spin-offs or I'm just making shit up but I'm pretty sure she's fought other magical girls before and it's often emphasized that she'd being going it alone for a long time.
In both Madoka Magica and Magia Record it’s mentioned that Mitakihara didn’t have a fight for the territory because Mami was there and no one of them wanted to have to deal with that. In the manga she even defeated a magical girl with a similar power as Homura, that for fun went around killing other magical girls.

Homura said "After all the wraiths have been wiped out,... I suppose I can be your enemy then." But humans always curse others, so the day will never come when wraiths wipe out. Homura knows that.

Omg..Madoka Magica has been my favorite series since I first watched it a decade ago, SO EXCITED to see this! There's a gacha game called Magia Exedra for the series coming to Steam sometime this year and I am so pumped

Sorry, but the dub is just unwatchable for me. You guys missed out on an amazing performance by Homura's VA and instead got a very mid reading by the dub actor. There is a very interesting video about how they recorded 2 separate readings of Homura's monologue when she is becoming a demon, they are almost identical, except one is a little more vindictive and condescended sounding and the other is more subtle and solemn/sorrowful. They used the later, but the dub version sounds a lot like the one they didn't use. You should have spent the $3 bucks for the sub and request a refund for the dub.
They can always rewatch it in Japanese offscreen. Besides, at least they watched the original 12 ep in Japanese. I think that only the original series took the most liberties with the dub. Let's just hope they watch magia record.
I prefer the dub for the movie sub for the show so this was awesome for me

Like it's perfectly fine and realistic and human like a real actual irl person would do, Sayaka grew as a person, became stronger, learned and knew Kyosuke wasn't worth her time, effort, and love. Realistic. Human. Completely realistic and human, like a real actual literal irl person would do with a crush/love as oblivious, unrequited, heartbreaking, dumb, ignorant, as him. Hitomi also has him, girlfriend and boyfriend, and Sayaka, again, grew as a person and accepted both of them being together and she literally says "Kysosuke doesn't deserve Hitomi".

Boycott SHAFT and Magia Record for Walpurgisnact Rising to be cancelled. And for the sequel to Rebellion be remade into a series instead of a movie. Which includes the other magical girls from the spin-off manga alongside the main cast. And, Mami Tomoe has a boyfriend who would play an important role in the story 💖
