"Despondence wore upon his face like an ill-fitting shirt of a model." is a pun and allusion to what Patagucci (fictionally) does as his occupation; also despondence is his facial expression and another layer in that sentence is that of course he would be sad if shirt couldn't fit the model or his model couldn't wear a shirt properly on the runway or he's constantly depressed whether the model or he have fucked up or not. All this for the sake of the joke
as a European, I especially love those Vegas videos. everything is so larger-than-life and over the top, we simply don't have anything like that in here - that's what makes them so fascinating! I loved the amtrak video too.
If you do ever go to Vegas or a big casino you should have a amount of money that you are willing and able to spend and then stop. Or just go to the casinos for the buffets

When I saw the clip with Martha's mum cooking pierogi, I thought they look just like the ones we do in Poland (not to mention 'pierogi' is just a straight-up Polish word), so I looked it up and it turnes out that Martha Stewart has a Polish heritage and a Polish maiden name! As a fellow Marta (we skip the h in our language) from Poland I am weirdly pleased with this fact.
$40 for Kaiserschmarrn??? As an Austrian, this pains me to see. Kaiserschmarrn ist usually a pretty cheap dessert. I do get that he did his own twist and you pay more because you're in Vegas, but DAMN. Other than that, the food in each restaurant looked amazing
I am a German so my perspective may be skewed, the Kaiserschmarren I'm used to is quite a bit different from what was shown in the video, but I agree that it is usually very cheap. They serve it in high school cafeterias over here! Celebrity chef prices are something else...
It looks more like a "Salzburger Nockerl" since it's so fluffy and airy. Real Kaiserschmarrn is basically just pancake dough broken up in the pan and served with some kind of fruit jam (typically plum). Both veeery delicious though
I love this series for a couple reasons, one: I would never go to Vegas and two: I could not eat any of what you tried (there would be major problems with my guts...). I appreciate the detail and enjoyment on your faces! I live vicariously through you!!!

Kaisserschmarrn isn’t quite presented like the ones I’m used to in the austrian alps, but it’s literally the best dessert around! I’ll never forget the day I went up a mountain, had kaisserschmerrn for the first time and then couldn’t button up my salopettes to snowboard back down the mountain 😂

I gobbled up your LV videos around the holidays last year as I had just made my first visit to that wild city in October and loved it, despite only doing a handful of experiences and not eating at any of the popular restaurants except for Best Friend (I did very little research going in). I love this part 2! I do have one note about Nellie’s chicken and dumplings. I do realize the concept of the dish is odd but as a person who is southern you kind of have to have that background to appreciate it or to at least understand why it is what it is. I’m so glad you were able to find good things to say about it even though it wasn’t quite what you wished it was.

Haha I find this so interesting - Vegas seems to be a foodie town. I have to point it out. The Kaiserschmarrn looks rather like "Salzburger Nockerl" which is also Austrian, but the preparation is different. The dishes are kind of the cousins of sweet main courses/deserts in Austria, though.

Haha I find this so interesting - Vegas seems to be a foodie town. I have to point it out. The Kaiserschmarrn looks rather like "Salzburger Nockerl" which is also Austrian, but the preparation is different. The dishes are kind of the cousins of sweet main courses/deserts in Austria, though.
