10 years for me, which was complicated by chronic stress-induced gout, so we were never sure what was going on... Thank you for this knowledge. I've had plantar faciitis for many years and the heel pain was excruciating. I had no idea this pain along the side of my foot was the same culprit!
I have been experiencing this exact pain on the outside of my foot for many months and my doctor couldn’t find anything wrong. Now that I know what it is, I will be going out and finding some supportive insoles! Thank you!
Thank you from a very fed up lady in the UK! . The video was brief but taught me a lot. Most of my pain is lateral, in fact I was beginning to wonder if the PF diagnosis was correct. This makes sense.

I'm glad you understand why I don't walk right while working doubles and people seem to think I'm faking! I'm just shocked that I basically caused my own tendonitis.

@@andreagunn6895 foot injuries are weird, for me the area that hurts is often changing.. I no longer have outer foot pain, not sure how it went away but I'm assuming with time and rest. Gosh, thank you. I’ve had not one but two “jones fractures” on the outside bone you point out here. My heel never has bothered me. I do, however, have a huge arch and used to walk barefoot all the time. Now I’m having severe pain in my ankle, the outside, I guess the tendon. I’ve made myself wear arch supports and it is indeed better. I should have been the whole time!
I'm suffering from that now. It hurts like hell. I've been wearing special socks, which usually help, but right now, nothing is helping. Thank you for the video. A trip to the local foot doctor is in my future.
Hi, I was suffering from the plantar fasciitis for about 4 years which happened because of the intense badminton I used to play. I consulted a physiotherapist and went through various treatments he used to give like russian, tense, waxing, IR treatments etc and many exercises. This helped me a lot and the main points of pain due to PF are gone. However, I am still suffering from the outside foot pain probably due to 5th metatarsal injuries. There are two points in the 5th metatarsals which are the centre of the pain, and the pain is not going. This is a really serious problem. I wear archfit slippers and shoes as per the recommendations of the doctor. It is very difficult for me to stand for long time even after wearing the archfit footwears. My X-ray and MRI reports are completely normal. One place of pain is just before the cuboid in the bottom, and second point of pain is after the 5th metatarsal bone. Could you suggest something?

This was super clear. Any suggestion for pain relief (even if it's massage or whatever) when you've done this rolling out? Pain relievers never really hit for this pain and I'd prefer not relying on meds to treat when what I might need is a nice foot soak twice a week or something.
Your explanation was spot on. Thank you. What started in the typical area has gotten better but the pain moved to the outer part of my heel/foot. Would the same stretching exercises for PF be appropriate for the outside of the heel?
What about strengthening the arch and foot muscles to naturalize the foot’s structure and the person’s gait? I switched to barefoot sandals and realized how weak my feet muscles are from wearing cushioned/arch supported shoes my whole life. Do you think arch supports are a temporary fix and just treating a symptom? Thanks for the video doc :)
