It is weird to think that people watching 8 years after it aired would be less "spoiled" than the fans before the episode first aired. When the season first aired, Moffet knew that the BBC public announcements and timetables were common knowledge, so he deliberately used that knowledge to make this episode more surprising.
But also: 99% of people watching Doctor Who doesn't follow every bit of casting information out of BBC. Moreover, some people deliberately skip all kinds of promotional materials, just to avoid spoilers. So I don't really understand why Katrina even touched the subject of Oswin's actress.

Paula, I am not sure if Katrina mentioned this, or if she even knows much about it herself, but throughout this entire episode you can see examples of classic Dalek models. Lol at “All we know is that Moffat is already up to his shit”. I wish my wife would watch Doctor Who. She would like it, but she won’t give it a chance. We watched all of Buffy together and she loved that so I don’t see why she wouldn’t like DW. I think she has an incorrect idea in her head of what it is. Ah well. At least I have reaction videos so when I’m crying my eyes out over Amy and Rory setting a dinner place for the Doctor at Christmas, I know someone else is also feeling the feels.
Did you get her to start DW yet? If not, the answer is simple. Either make a bet you know you will win for her to watch season 1. OR make a bribe.. bribe to do whatever she has been hounding you to do if she will watch first season. Then repeat for each season.

Probably because she has that anti sci fic bias a lot of women have. And not it's not sexist people calm the fck down. The truth is your average woman just doesn't consider sci fic until someone puts it on for them and they can see that it's not all robot dogs, spaceships and ray guns. OMG Paula, your hair has gotten so long in quarantine. I LOVE IT! Hi Katrina, I loved your new 'do when you cut yours too. BTW, I've always loved Mickey, even during his early, 'cowardly' days. His was the first voice of Those That Get Left Behind.
“THIS IS OUR LIFE NOW!” Katrina invents Les Miserables: Covid Edition. P.S. Rory waited 2000 years for Amy. How could she ever think he wouldn’t want her?
I quite liked the series of "Pond Life" minisodes which set-up the start of this season. They were mostly-fun, with the Doctor repeatedly popping in and out of Amy and Rory's lives. There's an Ood involved too. But they also showed a bit more of Amy and Rory's break-up too. Anyway, I loved THIS episode when it first came out. It made up for almost the complete lack of Daleks from Season 6. I liked that they repainted the Paradigm Daleks from Season 5 to look darker and more-threatening. Sadly, this is their last appearance. Another highlight for a long-time fan like me was seeing the many different Dalek designs from both Classic and Modern Who scattered throughout the Asylum. It was a nice throwback.
Mickey’s an interesting character because, if one tries to distill his personality, at least in terms of flaws, down to one word, “cowardly” would probably be it. But that misses so much because, as the Doctor describes himself, he is also cowardly. “Coward. Any day.” At least if the alternative is being a mass killer (which he learned the hard way by already having done). So sure, Mickey is cowardly. He’s afraid of losing Rose, which is understandable, esp. at their age. They’re young. Not really super mature emotionally. (And she’s very much flawed too, as all characters are.) It’s his journeys, primarily because of the Doctor, where his experiences with life and death make him learn to decide what is important (and what not so important), that he becomes both braver and able to stand up for himself, not just against enemies but also when standing up to his friends/relationship. And that was important because Rose really *was* stringing him along. Emotionally, Rose was clearly always “shopping around”, with the Doctor, with Jack, with Adam. Yet she was resentful when Mickey started seeing that other girl because Rose had been gone for months at a time, and didn’t miss him or his presence enough to want it along with her. Then she was resentful when Mickey asked to come along in the start of S2. And it’s only when he chose to remain on Pete’s Earth to fight the Cybermen that she realizes she emotionally depended on him being there for her, but that he was finally moving on, emotionally and physically, because she honestly wasn’t going to reciprocate. (I mean, god, how many people figure that out by the age Mickey does?) I think, your followers who were put off by your initial reaction to Mickey, the character, is because, while some fans are turned off by his initial character, quite a lot of others find him very relatable. Some fans, like Sesskasays, found him the most relatable and easiest to identify with. (I personally wasn’t super impressed by his early character, but I didn’t dislike him or his presence in the stories either. He was a bit of the secondary human, whose occasional presence was perhaps intended for slight comic relief.) Because the Doctor is really rather alien, and Rose just taking off with a complete stranger isn’t exactly perhaps the most likely response for the typical person (but the Companion is often simultaneously the (more) relatable human character, as an inroad to understanding the Doctor, and unusual from most humans in that they *do* tend to chose to wander off with a space-time-hopping alien). Also, I recall Davies mentioning several S1 stories were also conveying to viewers unfamiliar with the Doctor why he chooses certain companions (Rose) and not others (Adam, early Mickey). Lastly, I think early Mickey being just “cowardly” misses a lot because, despite being a flaw, a lot of people probably consider it forgivable. First, he’s young. Second, where Mickey began as a bit too cowardly, Rose had the slightly opposite problem in that she sometimes threw caution to the wind a tad too much (Father’s Day, anyone?), at least after meeting the Doctor. Perhaps, before the Doctor came along, she and Mickey were more alike and this was a point of divergence. I’ve seen a number of reaction viewers who found *Rose* annoying, and the main reason they even started to find Mickey annoying after a while was because he’d keep pining after her. Third, we don’t really understand what might have occurred in Mickey’s life that made him as cowardly as we find him at the start of the show (the show is about other characters, at least more than it is about him). We know he lost his gran early who seems to have raised him, so perhaps he had few family beyond Rose and Jackie? But also, if cowardliness is Mickey’s primary flaw, maybe the best way for him to get over it wasn’t just constantly insulting him the way the Doctor was doing a *lot* until rather deep into S2.
Everyone has their own opinions. That said, Mickey was NEVER a coward! He wasn't interested in following the Doctor around, only ever did it to be with his gf who was crushing hard on this other guy! He was too hard on himself in this cameo! (I saw the cameo he did for Sesska, who also is a Mickey supporter, but I won't start reactionary reaction fights.)
I've never understood how Mickey could be classified as cowardly. He's not the icon of heroism, but his response to the Doctor is one of the most realistic. A space man shows up, clearly insane, starts flirting with your girlfriend, almost gets your girlfriends and yourself killed a half dozen times, before begrudgingly offering to take you into space while clearly sending signals that he doesn't want you along. No way am I going with him. Realistically, you're best outcome is ending up brainwiped and a drooling idiot. From a storytelling standpoint, your going to be killed off to clear the way for the Magic Space Boyfriend. Mickey saw that train coming and got the hell off the tracks. Good for him.
One thing that I didn't see mentioned is that they actually used old Dalek models from past seasons, including, if I recall correctly, braking out some actual museum pieces back from the classic era. Specifically, the Dalek models used in the episodes the Doctor referenced earlier, as well as some others.
wonderful reaction as always, My favorite Dalek story, also love love love Oswin Oswald, get chills every time the line "RUN, YOU CLEVER BOY AND REMEMBER" happens, also that was awesome Noel Clarke is great
That display of Katrina's gifts in the background was kind of heartwarming for me. I might have shed a tear. But Mr. Clarke's message was too! So glad you're back with these videos and you are still able to see each other in some capacity. Stay awesome you two!
Easter eggs in the dalek intensive care section when the planets are listed Aridius (1st doctor) Vulcan (2nd doctor) Spiridon and exillon (3rd doctor) The daleks that survived the doctor
There’s always something disturbing about the special ward. Not that it not disturbing already, but something everyone missed. Those were the Daleks who survived The Doctor. If that’s what he does to a Dalek, the most vile creature in the universe, what would he do to anyone else?
Each of the next 5 episodes was designed as a "mini movie" and as such, each had a movie style poster designed (u can google them) and each of the next 5 episodes have "slightly" different intros to match the content of the episode, ie 1 the dinosaurs on a space ship episode has a slight lizard scale tinge to it... etc etc...
Thank God. Doctor Who reactors who haven’t had major hair re dos since their last uploads! Glad to have you back! “We haven’t seen Daleks for a while.....” - Paula super prescient on this one!
I am just so glad you two are still making videos. I watch a lot of reaction channels but I have to say you are in my Top Five channels. You have kept me company while I nearly fell apart completely in my isolation. I know I am not alone in how I feel and that you have been far more to many people than just a reaction channel. Keep on keeping on, you are both so awesome!
Noel Clarke's story arc is WAY better than Mickey's. Essentially an unknown actor before Dr Who, then 13 years after 1x01 Rose, he had a TV show he created, wrote three episodes for, and executive produced, Bulletproof, run for three seasons. It's on my list of things to watch so I haven't seen it yet, but that guy definitely wins the acting career path. Oh, and his family is insanely cute, so I think he's winning at life all around.
Hi Paula! Hi Katrina! Just a quick comment to remind you to take a deep breath and let your shoulders relax, because going through these comment sections on every video must be Hella stressful. Reading the comments on this one alone makes me want to headbutt the door. You're both troopers!
Credit to Moffat where it’s due - when he sits there in the writers’ chair and goes “MUAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!” we’re all going “oh, god, this is going to break us” because we know it’s going to hurt.
I realised I hadn't watched your reactions to the very early stuff, so I binged it last week. I have to say, you didn't dunk that hard on Mickey, and it was fun watching you warm to him as he developed.
the star trek video says blocked in your country for me (in US) and when i click it says copyright of cbs and all that. if i use a vpn to change countries can i see it? and if so any idea which country?

It made me mad at Amy. Her decision was supposedly made out of love, but she denied Rory from being part of the decision. It reminded me of her first outing with the Doctor, when she chose to hide the truth about the star whale from the Doctor. I loved the Amy character in general, but twice she chose to deny people she loved the right to an informed choice about something really important.
@@shadout I have a little quote for you that I think you'll be satisfied: Amy: I didn't kick you out...I gave you up. Hanna: BULLSHIT!!!!! 😡🤬 (Amy and Rory pause their argument and whirl around to look at Hanna) Rory: Hanna???? Hanna: That is absolute bullshit! Of course he loves you more! He waited 2,000 years outside a box for you! And... (She marches forward towards them and stands in between them. Rory behind her and Amy infront of her. She tackles Amy and strikes her down to the ground. Knocking her away from Rory and coming to his aid. She then gets right into her face and snarls) Hanna: Don't you dare say that it doesn't matter because IT DOES!!!!!!! (Amy looks at her, frozen in surprise. 😳 Caught by her attention. Hanna continues with a snarl) Hanna: He was awake and conscious the entire time, but for you, it was passed in the blink of an eye! He has loved you unconditionally, pretty much for as long as you can remember him. But all you EVER did to him was treat him like a spare part! You were marrying him, and yet, on your wedding night, you *NEVER,* not even one moment told him that you loved him! You weren't capable of waiting for 40 years for him and yes, I know that you were aging, but so what! You knew that it would've been Rory who would've to come for you and yet, you couldn't! (Amy gets herself back up again and retorts Hanna) Amy: I don't remember any of that. It didn't happen for me. (Hanna gives her a really hard shove and comes back at her with a snarl) Hanna: But still, it happened for him! Did he ever tell you what he said when he found the older version of you???? HUH?!?! (She looks over her shoulder at Rory for a moment and then back to Amy to see if she would answer. Amy doesn't say anything and Hanna breaks the silence) Hanna: No! Of course he didn't! He'd want to spare your feelings but quite frankly, I do NOT give a toss about your feelings! He told you that you growing old did NOT mean _anything_ to him. He told you that all he cared about when seeing you old is that you hadn't been able to grow old together. So how in all the damn universe could you EVER think that he would have thought of you any differently, just because you can't have kids?! Have you never heard of *"adoption"* ? And did he ever tell you that he can *remember* it? That he remembers EVERY second of sitting (she points to the right side) outside of THAT box. He did not have to do it! You would've been perfectly safe on your own, but he waited anyway. Because YOU 👈 (she points sharply at her with her finger) were ever so slightly more safe with him there! He single-handedly, dragged the Pandorica out of a burning building! He was made of _plastic_ and he walked _through the fire_ for you! And honestly, I cannot see why. He deserves someone who loves and appreciates him, but he settles with just needed by you! As long as you need him around he is happy, and yet, somehow, (she inches closer into her face and yells at the top of her lungs) *YOU'RE TOO HIGH AND MIGHTY TO SEE THAT!!!!!!!!!!* 😡😡😡😡😡 (Hanna inhales a really deep breath. Just as she was about to scream more at her, but pauses as Rory clips the nanoblocker around her left wrist. Hanna whirls around and stares at him and the nanoblocker for a minute then turns back to meet Amy's gaze. Amy doesn't say anything and Hanna says some final words to her. She says it in a low, stern voice. Hanna: It needed to be said. And you needed to hear it. (Amy looks at her and watches Hanna walk away to the far side of the teleport pad with her face buried in her hands) So what do you think about this quote??? Comment back to me what you thought about it! 😊😁
How bout this: What if Amy and Rory did *NOT* married each other but fell in love with 2 friends that were also in their childhood years? Because there are 2 siblings: an older brother and a younger sister who both had crushes on the same people who were (perhaps) unaware that they already had feelings for each other and that the siblings both had crushes on them??? The brother's name is Drew Sheridan and his younger sister is Nicole. Nicole was Rory's old friend. Both attended the same class together and were both the same age of each other. During their childhood, Rory and Nicole were always close. And Nicole had a *HUGE* crush on Rory and she still did as an adult. At the same time, her brother, Drew, had feelings for Rory's person, Amy. Drew was just about a couple years older than Amy but he still loved her a lot. And he planned that maybe in his near future, he will get the love of his life. So this, is how I feel about this. I feel that this would've been better and would've also made things a WHOLE lot better than if Amy and Rory didn't marry each other, but married the siblings instead, NONE of this would've happened! *Does any agree with me?????*
this is probably my favorite episode of the first half of season 7. once the second half starts i enjoy them loads, but I tend to find the first half stretching my willing suspension of disbelief.
Was starting to wonder what happened to you two. Hey,we all need a break sometimes, right? Too bad about Oswin, she was fun. Could you imagine her and Amy becoming buddies while traveling? Both them being way too excited about getting into danger? Maybe Oswin would have kept making everyone souffles?
I have a soft spot for season 7, as it was the first one I bought complete on DVD. Thinking about what's coming up, I can't wait until you get to the last episode of the season... and what that leads to. :-) "All we know is Steven Moffat is up to his s***". That is my new favorite line. :-)
Noel Clarke is great with DW fans. Love Paula justifying the reaction to Mickey in series 1 lol. ;) Great episode. Just realised I'm watching all your reactions to Amy and Rory's final episodes in one go, I predict sobbing.
Amy's wrong. Rory loves her more. Possibly because he's had more practice, as it took Amy a long while to figure out Rory was in love with her. Also there's the 2000 years of protecting the Pandorica...
You skipped over two of the best scenes - 1: After that Dalek self-destructed, and Rory wanders in,and says 'Who killed all the Daleks?", and 2 : The scene in the special care ward - Oswald lists the names of the wars that those Daleks survived - Spiridon, Kembel, Iridius, Falken, Exxilion. - referencing events the from the original series.
Without providing any spoilers, I hope that they react to all the 'additional material' that was produced for this series. One thing I have noticed is that no other reactor I have seen realises who plays the parking attendant who says "That's not how we do things at the...". I'll leave that vague.
AWWWW Noel cameo was so cool, wanted to get one for my daughter from Jennifer Hale, but she stopped doing it. Didn't care for Amy in this story. She got too much of a pass for being unnecessarily cruel to Rory under the middle school girl view of "sacrificing" for someone else's own good. The slap was too much. Oh and Rory was right, he was always way more invested in that relationship, Amy ran off with a time traveler, and whether Moffat liked it or not he had her come onto the doctor and literally try to fck him. So sorry fans, Rory was right.
"She looked right into the camera." Yes, she did, didn't she. I wonder what the implications of such an act could be. I wonder I wonder what that could possibly mean, or what it might mean for the future of the series.
That moment when Paula says Oswin is too much like the Doctor... I'M DEAD.

Since the other Daleks forgot about the Doctor, it might actually have worked.

Yet again, Katrina and I will soon be crying together apart like little girls.
Easter eggs in the dalek intensive care section when the planets are listed
Aridius (1st doctor)
Vulcan (2nd doctor)
Spiridon and exillon (3rd doctor)
The daleks that survived the doctor
love the Noel Clarke bonus this episode I was so looking forward to anyway but wow unexpected ..so gr8
Karen Gillian is afraid of moths.
When did you hear about that?
And how do you know that she is?
There’s always something disturbing about the special ward. Not that it not disturbing already, but something everyone missed. Those were the Daleks who survived The Doctor. If that’s what he does to a Dalek, the most vile creature in the universe, what would he do to anyone else?
You ask for Daleks and they appear! How's that for service. Another great reaction, ladies. 😀
Each of the next 5 episodes was designed as a "mini movie" and as such, each had a movie style poster designed (u can google them) and each of the next 5 episodes have "slightly" different intros to match the content of the episode, ie 1 the dinosaurs on a space ship episode has a slight lizard scale tinge to it... etc etc...
SO glad you've started posting reactions for Season 7, this is gonna be quite a ride!
its coming, its coming, its coming
Thank God. Doctor Who reactors who haven’t had major hair re dos since their last uploads! Glad to have you back! “We haven’t seen Daleks for a while.....” - Paula super prescient on this one!
Ha, ha.....Daleks, not Dales! (How does YT know where I am?)
Is this a failwhale reference?
@@iz723 and Shayla. Haven’t seen Sesskasays yet....could have gone prematurely pink for all I know. It’s all very disconcerting.
You're both so sassy in this one! You're both amazing😂
Ironically enough, I recently found out that Noel was in the 12th Trek film(second one set in the Kelvin timeline)
He also wrote, directed and stared in kidulthood and Adulthood which were critically loved films
oof

Master: i always drezzz for the occasion
Daleks: egzzzz..........terminate
15:50, Katrina worried about Soufflé=Eggs(terminate) connection.
I am so excited to see your reactions to this season!
Hi Paula! Hi Katrina! Just a quick comment to remind you to take a deep breath and let your shoulders relax, because going through these comment sections on every video must be Hella stressful. Reading the comments on this one alone makes me want to headbutt the door. You're both troopers!
How do you make a Soufflé? Eggs, stir... Min Ate
Love this episode. Love your reactions. Love Katrina giving us the knowing glances. Oh, uh, pay no attention, Paula.
OMG. Finally, the season that ruthlessly broke my heart. Prepare your tissues
Is "Emptying the tin" some sort of euphemism I'm not familiar with!?
The dalek oswin would have been an awesome companion.
18:30 One of my all-time favorite Doctor Who emotional scenes! Their acting here is simply PHENOMENAL!!!
Make her wait 3 months between seasons 3 and 4 of ST:TNG like we had to do when it was new.
Yeay.. The start of Season/Series 7.. im so excited.
The timing of the cameo video was incredibly unfortunate 😅
Paula...don't wait to spoil but don't put on eye makeup this season.
Use the waterproof stuff
Yay the Gals are back! Eggs! Eggs! Get ready for a serious Moffating...
I believe Amy loves Rory as much as he loves her, but she should not be surprised he thinks that, she has given him every reason to think so.
the star trek video says blocked in your country for me (in US) and when i click it says copyright of cbs and all that. if i use a vpn to change countries can i see it? and if so any idea which country?
hahaha Paula oh Paula... i'm so excited for this journey for you
One of my favorite season/series openers
.....about time 🤪 I love the ground this episode lays for the upcoming season. Oh Paula that's not nice(I realize the Pond Life is a bit traumatic, but given what's coming on get Warped) I look forward to more Wibbly Wobbly adventures
Season 7 is one of my favourite seasons
I hate that the writers drove Amy and Rory apart. This is my frowny face. 😒
@@shadout I have a little quote for you that I think you'll be satisfied:
Amy: I didn't kick you out...I gave you up.
Hanna: BULLSHIT!!!!! 😡🤬
(Amy and Rory pause their argument and whirl around to look at Hanna)
Rory: Hanna????
Hanna: That is absolute bullshit! Of course he loves you more! He waited 2,000 years outside a box for you! And...
(She marches forward towards them and stands in between them. Rory behind her and Amy infront of her. She tackles Amy and strikes her down to the ground. Knocking her away from Rory and coming to his aid. She then gets right into her face and snarls)
Hanna: Don't you dare say that it doesn't matter because IT DOES!!!!!!!
(Amy looks at her, frozen in surprise. 😳 Caught by her attention. Hanna continues with a snarl)
Hanna: He was awake and conscious the entire time, but for you, it was passed in the blink of an eye!
(Amy gets herself back up again and retorts Hanna)
Amy: I don't remember any of that. It didn't happen for me.
(Hanna gives her a really hard shove and comes back at her with a snarl)
Hanna: But still, it happened for him! Did he ever tell you what he said when he found the older version of you???? HUH?!?!
(She looks over her shoulder at Rory for a moment and then back to Amy to see if she would answer. Amy doesn't say anything and Hanna breaks the silence)
Hanna: No!
As long as you need him around he is happy, and yet, somehow, (she inches closer into her face and yells at the top of her lungs) *YOU'RE TOO HIGH AND MIGHTY TO SEE THAT!!!!!!!!!!* 😡😡😡😡😡
(Hanna inhales a really deep breath.
(Amy looks at her and watches Hanna walk away to the far side of the teleport pad with her face buried in her hands)
So what do you think about this quote???
*Does any agree with me?????*
there was a dalek in series 6 last episode wedding of river song
Hello Gals. Happy New Year🥳. Paula I know you love it when they say the name, but I’m waiting for someday when they say Doctor What 😮
Yey your bak on doctor who! I hope you dont take anothr little break after the xmas special thats right in the middle of series 7
I cried watching this the first time. Damn. Oswin was amazing.
this is probably my favorite episode of the first half of season 7. once the second half starts i enjoy them loads, but I tend to find the first half stretching my willing suspension of disbelief.
Wow I didn’t think Micky smith was going to be joining the cast of gallery gals reaction videos lol 😂😂
Belated Happy New Year to all!
OMG its started!! I love this era of Doctor Who!
A place where even the daleks are afraid to go
Was starting to wonder what happened to you two. Hey,we all need a break sometimes, right?
Too bad about Oswin, she was fun. Could you imagine her and Amy becoming buddies while traveling? Both them being way too excited about getting into danger? Maybe Oswin would have kept making everyone souffles?
Where did she get the MILK ?!

Mickey's arc is so amazing!
That was some fancy wibbling and wobbling. 1:00
The song made me cry.
they finally met clara!
I have a soft spot for season 7, as it was the first one I bought complete on DVD. Thinking about what's coming up, I can't wait until you get to the last episode of the season... and what that leads to. :-)
"All we know is Steven Moffat is up to his s***". That is my new favorite line. :-)
John Barrowman is on cameo as well, I wish I could book him for you but I can't afford it.
Can someone do rough calculation how long will it take more for them to reach heaven sent/hell bent?
Noel Clarke is great with DW fans. Love Paula justifying the reaction to Mickey in series 1 lol. ;)
Great episode. Just realised I'm watching all your reactions to Amy and Rory's final episodes in one go, I predict sobbing.
MIKEY!!!!!!!!! Well done, that was sweet!
Respect to Noel Clarke 👍🏼👍🏼
I was looking for the 'Pond Life' reaction(s) first, I guess they were off camera?
We did watch and react but it's currently only available on our patreon! It might be something that we release a little later on RUclips ☺️
Amy's wrong. Rory loves her more. Possibly because he's had more practice, as it took Amy a long while to figure out Rory was in love with her. Also there's the 2000 years of protecting the Pandorica...
So true!
Happy new year 💝
Meeting Oswin is always one of those moments... Looking forward to more.
So ready for this episode! One of the first this time!
Speaking of Firefly....next show to watch?
The Doctor is in for a surprise
wow...11.5 minutes before the reaction starts! New record?
Without providing any spoilers, I hope that they react to all the 'additional material' that was produced for this series. One thing I have noticed is that no other reactor I have seen realises who plays the parking attendant who says "That's not how we do things at the...". I'll leave that vague.
I'm looking forward to when we get to the next confuse Paula episode! Run you clever boy
"how can you say that"
Seasons worth of evidence.
Noel Clarke was in a Star Trek movie too
AWWWW Noel cameo was so cool, wanted to get one for my daughter from Jennifer Hale, but she stopped doing it.
"She looked right into the camera."
Yes, she did, didn't she. I wonder what the implications of such an act could be. I wonder I wonder what that could possibly mean, or what it might mean for the future of the series.
This comment section is full of spoilers. Remember guys, one of the ladies is a newbie
Wouldve been so fun if they somehow managed to drag Oswin’s dalek back with them
Run You Clever Boy And Remember.
I really like this episode, can’t say too much about why but... I like it a lot , things will be called back to... that is all
Well you're gonna get a lot of daleks in this episode
Where does she get the milk, or the eggs?
