For some reason the title caused me to expect a device that would launch a full can of beer like a shotgun slug. Granted that would pretty much be the same thing as a potato cannon.

They actually do make a "can cannon". Uses the gas pressure from blanks to launch cans out of an AR-15. Like the above comment, Demolition Ranch has also done plenty of such videos.

As someone over 35 the only appropriate thing to shotgun is an 8 oz can. Or better yet open the beer like an adult and pour it into a glass rather corroding your stomach lining and esophagus with beer which hasn’t had any of its carbonation released.
