The Pipe Organ is one of the mightiest instruments in the world and, as a keyboard player, my favorite. I know it's not the same, but thank God for Haupt Werk, witch allows us to bring these nice organs into our studios.
Thanks Paul for playing this beautiful piece of Dutch composer Jan Pieterszoon Sweelinck on a great sounding instrument, ....beautifully played as well. Maybe you can play it on one of your Sweelinq samplesets. 😊 Greets from the Netherlands.
I was delighted to hear your wonderful performance of Sweelinck's setting of this famous melody. What a wonderful instrument. I have a shorter setting by Peeter Cornet named 'Aria del Granduca' It was a very popular melody and ground bass thought to date from about 1592. It became well known all over Europe and many Renaissance composers used it in their compositions. It's a pity that we do not hear more Sweelinck considering that scores are more readily available than in 1964 when I copied some variations by hand in a university library do learn as a self-prepared work for my final piano exam! 'Dover Publications' inexpensibly publish the complete keyboard works.
Delicate yet extremely intricate stops, like a rare kimono silk for a geisha. Once again, a maestro delivering & unearthing historic organs around the world including this treasure❤❤❤. Thank you Paul, love every moment of it.
Dear Paul, just amazingly well done! I had never heard that piece or composer , but I am so uplifted by its beauty. I love your solo stops. What color to those registrations!! You certainly are a master at the organ and it inspires me more than you can imagine!! It’s so wonderful to be consistently practicing music that compels me to play. Your showcases of organs from all over the place and playing your brilliant compositions do more than just entertain me. It’s uplifting and motivating! I can’t thank you enough for what you’re doing. God bless you and my prayers are with you, Royden
Never having knowingly heard any Sweelinck before had to do some homework!! This is just great - majestic for a Grand Duke yet with contrasting sections Am hoping now for more of his music Thank you for something new.
I just noticed you aren’t utilizing early fingerings. Now I’m really impressed because I can still hear the strong and weak beats and measures. I’ve tried to use modern fingerings in renaissance and early baroque music, but it always sounds forced so I have to revert back to early fingering. You sound very natural. Wow!!!
Oh, thank you so much!! I‘m trying my best with the modern ones, but I haven’t had the chance to get into early fingerings yet. Its definitely on my list! 😀
An interesting piece that sounded Baroque. I recently heard Sweelinck's "Est-ce Mars" on Michael R. Kearney's URC Psalmody channel. Seems that both of you are exploring Bach's predecessors. More please! From Chicago. U.S.A.
What a unique sound this organ has. Very nice. However, my very favorite organ is the Laurensekirk which I hope you get to play again soon. Thanks for sharing this. You have a talent I envy.
At 3:23 this sounds so familiar, something I’ve read through, but I’m sure I haven’t played much Sweelinck before so I don’t think it was his music… I’ll have to come back after I’ve thought a little more on what it could be. But I’m thinking it’s Andrea Gabrieli or another Italian composer.
Hallo, lieber Paul Fey.
Paul - your fifth finger is larger than my middle (third) finger. Helps to explain why I struggle with full-hand chords in some of your publications. 😅😃 - or you just really well endowed? 😜

Majestic!
Très belle et rafraîchissante exécution. Au frais dans une belle église 😉…
A beautiful performance on this historic and rare Spanish instrument. Your videos take us to places and organs we did not know existed. Thank you.
Respighi used this tune in his Ancient Airs and Dances. It was driving me crazy where I had heard this before and then it came to me.
Oooh, does he? I have to check it out! Thank you for letting us know 😀
Was will man mehr? Great, Paul!
Vielen lieben Dank! 😀

I love Sweelinck's music. 🎼🎶💕
Beautiful rendition on the pipe organ.
Thank You very much Paul, I didn't really know that the longest organ was in Spain, in Mallorca! Thanks a lot!

Utterly amazing sound from the Plé, lovely and rich but not at all harsh. The builder knew what he was doing. Thanks for your lovely playing too :)
The work of the organ builder Jordi Bosch (1739-1801) influenced the young Aristide Cavaillé-Coll.
What a beautiful and interesting piece! Great job Paul!

Thanks Paul! You never disappoint! Beautiful!
Beautiful Paul, as you make the organ speak! Really something special.

Beautiful organ and pipes!
Thank you for watching! 😀
Total guter Video ❤👌👍👏
The mixtur is cool and all, but I need more of those spanish trumpets.

Hi, Paul. It appeared there were 5 or 6 knob-like “pedals.” Is that, in fact, what we saw?
Hi James, yes - thats the pedal board of that organ! It only has the natural notes and has a span of an octave 😀

Wonderful job! Just out of curiosity, what do you use for your tablet/the auto-flipping pages?
👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

Is that console built into a wall?
