I'm Italian, and I was just a kid watching the final match while on vacation with my family. I remember being so excited and then feeling so sad that day. Still, it’s one of my best memories, one I'll never forget. We Italians love Brazil and Brazilian people, and that match was all about sport and healthy competition, making us proud of our boys even though we lost.
People as years went by finally started to understand how good that brazil side was... by far the champion in the last 30 years who created the most chances and conceded the least amount of opportunities to their opponents. They only git the reputation as a conservative side due to the extreme heat so the pace was a bit slower ans the fact that they really did waste a bigger amount of chances than average so most matches ended by 1 goal. But they were incredibly dominant, led the WC in shots, passes, possession and all defensive categories at the same side. Incredibly underrated team who from 1 through 16 might have been the deepest out of every WC winner in the laat 30 years. Think about it, they had Cafu, Branco, Muller, Raí, Ronaldo on the bench... only 02 brazil and 10 spain might have an argument for a deeper squad really

I'm Romanian but when my national team doesn't play (and sometimes even when they play), I usually root for Italy (just not the current day Italy, with the exception of Barella and probably 1-2 more players whose names I don't remember at the moment this Italy team is pure garbage, can't even compare to the legends that I have absolutely loved as a kid / young adult: Baresi, Maldini, Pirlo, Totti, Del Piero, Inzaghi, Zambrotta, Nesta, Perotta, Panucci, etc...)
Netherlands' games are almost always entertaining. Netherlands are an attacking team and - more importantly - they're a "direct on goal" type of team (ie. they don't beat around the bush in the middle of the pitch like the retarded Barcelona were doing in their Tiki-Taka era), they get the ball and move it forward with each pass, and this is always entertaining to watch because there are as few dead moments as possible. Besides, the Dutch are a very rational, cerebral, pragmatic nation, so they try to be efficient in everything they do (I've been to the Netherlands between 2018 and 2020, I've worked with them, so I got to know them better)... And their efficient, rational mentality transpires in football too, and it's a beauty to watch if you don't like champagne football (Spainish, Brazilian, etc)... Almost every knock-out game that Netherlands play in the Euro or the WC is a guaranteed show, the outliers only reinforce this rule... And the fact that they've faced Brazil (a naturally technically gifted team) could only ensure and reinforce entertainment even more. You've been truly blessed to have watched that match live, especially in an era when football was still relatively clean (ie. not infested by conglomerates and state-corporations), the 90s and 2000s have been the best decades for football fans born in the 80s (ie. me). Probably the 60s, 70s and 80s have been great for football too, but I wouldn't know this since I've never witnessed matches live until the 90s. But yeah... for football fans who were born in late 70s - early 80s the 90s and 2000s have been truly magical, and you're one of the luckiest fans of them all to watch this match live... I wish my Romanian team would have not lost to Sweden in the quarters, we would have met Brazil in the semis and we would have had a chance (Bebeto or Romario - I don't remember which one - had even said in an interview later after the WC that they have prayed that the Swedes beat us because had we won against Sweden we would have probably won against Brazil too, Brazilian were very concerned that they might face our golden generation with Hagi, Dumitrescu, Raducioiu, Petrescu, Popescu, etc... we were really someone in the 90s, I miss that generation so much...) Anyway, sorry for digressing, but yeah... lucky you that you've attended this match live. What I'd give now to be able to travel back in time and be present at this game... or at Argentina - Romania game that we won 3-2 I believe... Oh well... time can not be reversed despite of what the fake scientists tell you, so we gotta try to make the most of our time on this planet because we only get 1 chance to living how we want...
Actually you are wrong about that. This was an ugly and defensive football team (by Brazilian standards). No flair. 1982 and 2006 teams much more loved and they didn't win the WC, but the played that lovely Joga Bonito.

Crap. That miss by romario in open goal in EXTRA time was shocking. Generally I don't think romario is skillfull. Not in front line anyway. Nah, I don't think much of romario as a player.
