I just love Makita products. this router is excellent and in fact reasonably priced. I wish to get their band saw, but that is expensive. Thank you for information sir.
@@makitauk Would you be good enough to tell me the PART NUMBER of the FINE ADJUSTMENT SIDE FENCE that is compatible with the plunge base (196094-2) when used with the Makita Palm Trimmer Router RT0701C? Many thanks!
It would be nice to have a vertical adjustment knob on the router base in order to adjust the height after the the router is locked in its base. I know it would mean a full reengineering of the router base, and I doubt it will be available in the price range the RT0700 is sold though.
Would it be possible to fit a 6mm shank Garryson tungsten carbide burr in this router to cut lock slots in steel tubing? Perhaps a video demonstration? The speed range is suitable, the bosch palm router is too fast. Not sure if the 6mm shank will suit 1/4" router.
The problem I am having is that the drive pulley wheel that is supposed to replace the collet and nut for the offset base is running into the spindle lock housing before it bottoms out on the threads on the spindle. Either I'm missing something or my spindle or the pulley wheel is out of spec.
@@edwardmorrisby6842 Well younhave this one www.amazon.co.uk/Makita-194935-6-rip-Fence/dp/B0083PVNW8/ref=mp_s_a_1_19?dchild=1&keywords=makita+guide&qid=1603103987&sr=8-19 Check the size of the rods as you need a diameter specific to the router. Thr guide itself accepts 2 different diameters. Anyway you can buy the 2 rods at any diy shop i would think I got this one from amazon.fr and it comes with the 2 accepted sets of rods so youd be on the safe side if you order from the french site and get delivered to the UK www.amazon.fr/gp/aw/d/B0193EJAYA/ref=yo_ii_img?ie=UTF8&psc=1 Mine works like a charm.
3/ 8 inches = 9.525mm Make sure this is the right size in the collet. Mine was shipped with a 8mm and a 6.25mm (1/4 inch) I assume you're talking about the shank diameter of the bit.
How time flies by. I viewed this video 12 years ago then bought one. I prefer using my cordless version more.
What an excellent video! Clear, precise and all the details and options well illustrated.
You just explain so well
Thank you
I have one here in Brazil. It's a perfect tool and I love it!!

Hi There, sorry to hear you're having issues. Could you please contact servtech@makitauk.com and let them know the issues you're having ? Thank you
why it comes with 120 volt only
At 1:29 in the video you have it attached to an edge guide - can you tell us which one that is?
I noticed that I don't have that parallel guide in my kit
Its the makita straight guide that can be bought separately. Around 40 pounds /50 euros
@@alainprostbis Do you have a UK link to the straight guide fence for purchase. Thanks

Always use 2 wrenches to tighten, not a button!
Yeah the button is silly.

2:58 Why not make this a hex key? Has that engineer ever used it? star screw is very bad. I'll have to buy spare parts! 😡😤
