I've just came back to this and realized that this is very similar to a fanfiction I read on AO3. It's called "Trapped In Caring Talons" by Lily_Wishes and it's pretty good. Maybe we need more crazy SBI family dynamic in this world or that could be just me.

honestly the idea of tommy dying and upon his death wilbur, techno and phil realize they took tubbo and tommy for granted and didn't show them enough love and getting obsessed with mending bonds with tubbo (who clearly wants nothing to do with them) as a coping mechanism is just SO good
wait, so tommy died and since tubbo has picked up some of his mannerisms and was the closest to him before death the rest of tommy's family either blames him or wants to treat him like they couldn't treat tommy when he was alive to try and cope with their grief? i love this au

I love Steven Universe so much and so me knowing the story behind the acutual episode really puts it into prospective how the sleepy boys are so much like the dimonds. I love the concept of what would happen is the sleepy boys where actually close in the SMP and how it would effect them if they all thought tommy died or if what your implying if he actually died, and that they might reach out to tubbo for a support/ filling in for tommy, filling in the whole that tommy used to fill. You did an amazing job on showing how tubbo feels so guilty so he does want to help them but knows he could never do the job that tommy did to keep he family together or just be the comfort and support he was for the sleepy boys. also at the scene ( 0:21 ) where tubbo is standing in front of what looks like a famliy portrait of tommy and the sleepy boys shook me to the bone. IT JUST LOOKED SO COOL!!!!
YESSS. Also the 0:21 moment with the portrait and the line being spoken is 'theres a room waiting for you' which implies that they would just give him Tommy's old room. That's really sad considering how Tubbo is also sad about Tommy's death and they would give him TOMMY'S OLD ROOM. That would just remind him more of Tommy!!! How unsettlingly cruel...
Once I realized what was happening with Tommy this went from already kind of sad to just morbid to see SMP!Tommy’s family using Tubbo and possibly trying to shape him into their image of Tommy to cope with him being gone and that’s just scary
I can imagine the SBI being a royal family.. Philza being a king and ruling the world (A.k.a Antarctic empire) and being the father of Wilbur, Techno and Tommy and the most experienced out of all of them and the most hardworking (His Hardcore series). Techno being the eldest and prideful son helping his dad Philza with conquering the world (Antarctic empire) and being an incredibly strong warrior and strategist (*cough* The great potato war). Wilbur being the rebellious, sadistic middle child making weird deadly tournaments for his own enjoyment (like his 100 people challenges vids). Tommy the youngest child that is naive and irresponsible but actually pretty mature when he wants to be, plus he is the most morally good person in the whole family (Philza being a conqueror, techno being the psychopathic warrior and Wilbur as the guy who makes people do stuff for his enjoyment) Tommy seems to be the child who does strange shenanigans around the castle for fun and doesn't think about much. And maybe without him, the SBI castle will be a little quieter and empty. Please, someone, make a fan-fic about this, I would like to but I'm not a good writer.

I'm just gonna write something, dont mind me. (This is going off the SBI family dynamic and maybe a bit of royalty?) "I think that went well!" Tubbo smiled satisfied at what he had done as he stood before 3 men. He was in a palace like place, where the men supposedly lived, the walls covered with historical scenes and rather interesting portraits of the family. These portraits made it look like they were actual royalty, when in reality, they were just powerful and influential figures in anything. The room was also lavishly decorated, with thrones at the end of the long room, a red velvet carpet leading to them. There were also pictures behind the thrones, each one representing where the respective person would sit. The walls had a mix of windows and portraits of the 3 men and Tubbo's best friend, some serious while others were fun memories encased within frames. The curtains were drawn, blocking out the marvelous view that Tubbo would have very much enjoyed with a certain someone, so no light from the outside could enter, and torches lit for a rather lair like look overall. Tubbo found it weird that Wilbur had asked of him to join Philza and Techno there, but said nothing in hopes to lighten the room from the recent events, and quickly completed what he was asked off once he arrived. The task was simple really, just a quick chat and some change of rules so that L'manberg could run as smoothly as possible. He was also very impressed with the trio, since they had not caused any trouble what so ever, ever since the tragedy. "Well.. I guess I should leave now..." Tubbo stuttered, deciding that he should leave before the silence became too suffocating to bear. He could already feel the pressure that emitted from the 3 men in front of him, almost like a silent pleac for him to stay. He turned around to leave when... "Tubbo please," Philza started as he saw Tubbo try to leave through the open door, with Technoblade quickly saying, "You can't go." And Wilbur quickly catching on, almost pleading as he said, "You must stay..." "You're all we have left of Tommy..." Philza trailed, eyes dropping to the ground. The trio looked distraught at the thought of Tubbo leaving at best and outright terrified that the moment he left, Tubbo would be gone forever at worst. Tubbo turned around as he saw the door to the entrance of the room shut, courtesy of Wilbur who was trying to get him to stay. He urgently turned his head to face the trio once more. He looked at them in slight fear, but seeing the overwhelming pain in their eyes, he relaxed and felt a wave of sadness crash over him. Their postures were all slumped, and even with their outfits, fit for the terrifying terrorists they once were, they looked numb. Sad and weak, unlike the enemies they once were; Technoblade the Anarchist, known for ruining governments like his, Philza, Techno's assistant and a powerful figure in general, and Wilbur, the man who had lost himself to insanity and blew up his own country, and in the attempt to redeem himself, asked his own father to stab him right through the stomach leading him to painfully return as a ghost. These were the people who were standing in front of him now, who had, surprisingly enough, stopped their mischief and asked if he wanted to chat. Tubbo was behind confusion at this point, but being trapped in a room with them was probably not good for him. Before Tubbo could say anything about wanting to leave, Philza started talking again, saying, "Tubbo, you belong here with us!-" But was cut off when Tubbo shook his head and replied, "Erh.... Thanks, but no thanks..." He remembered everything they had done and would rather go back to where he wanted to be, L'manberg. He decided to try to get to the button that would open the door. That's when the three walked up to him and with amazing talent, sung in perfect harmony, "Come live with us in the palace, there's a room waiting for you..." Tubbo looked confused and terrifed as he backed away from them, only to come across a family portrait in which a certain figure was prominent, smiling as he sat in the centre of the family with a red and white shirt under a long flowing robe that everyone wore. He slowly backed away, as they individually held out their hands and sang, "Come on," Techno stuck out his scarred hand from all the wars he had and from every weapon he had held; "Come on," Wilbur stuck out his hand, ghostly pale as he himself was technically a ghost as one could say; "Come on," Philza stuck out his hand, clean and pristine. Techno and Wilbur then walked up to Tubbo and leaned against him in a brotherly fashion, shocking Tubbo as they harmonised, "Just let us adore you." Tubbo frantically tried escape Wilbur and Techno, who were both much taller and probably stronger than him, and laughed nervously saying, "You guys have really gotten better at showing affection!" He was desperate to leave as the palace like room filled to the brim with pictures only gave him more painfully joyous memories of when his best friend was still alive. Tubbo was also mildly terrified that they might have thought that he was the exact same person that Tommy was, and was thus treating him as such. So he quickly reminded them that, "I've got my own life to get back to. Guys, don't forget that I'm not Tommy!" He then advanced to the button and clicked it, opening the main entrance once more. Tubbo faced the main entrance as it opened up to a nether portal and sighed in relief, hoping to finally get out when they started harmonizing again. "Yes we know that you're not him, but you were his..." Philza was gently gripping onto a picture as they sang, depicting Tubbo and Tommy, who were laughing as Tommy slung his arm around Tubbo. It was a perfect moment, both their eyes alight with joy, their smiles glinting in the light as they seemingly laughed at something just not visible in the image, all perfectly captured and framed in Phil's hands. He held it up to Tubbo, as the boy in question laughed nervously again, and they sang again, singing, "You know what is meant to love him..." That was when Wilbur grabbed a familiar red and white shirt and held it up to Tubbo as they sang, "And you remind us so much of him..." Tubbo quickly but gently pushed away Wilbur as he compared the red and white tee with Tubbo's green collared shirt. He was scared, terrified that they thought they could replace Tommy with him. He wanted to leave. "Thanks! But I really got to go!" Tubbo said as his voice waved ever so slightly seeing Wilbur hold onto the shirt. He started to bolt for the door when the trio once more stepped forward, saying his name in mild panic. "But Tubbo!" Tubbo came to standstill as he watched the 3 talk. Philza started, saying, "I disbanded my armies!" pointing to a rack of armour and weapons to showcase the once cruel and merciless army that Philza had now disbanded, "I liberated my colonies!" He then pointed to a map of SMP Earth and it showed that there was no territory taken by his faction at all besides his homeland. Wilbur then took over, putting a hand on Phil's shoulder, "I never make anyone cry," Wilbur stated, before continuing, "And I don't blow up countries anymore!" This made Tubbo shiver ever so slightly as Techno took over saying, "And I've been saying please and thank you even to lower life forms Tubbo!" This made Tubbo hold back a facepalm as he replied, "What did we talk about?" This made Techno sigh as his face scrunched up. "Equal lifeforms." He sighed. Philza then took control of the conversation once more, explaining that, "Tubbo, we've done everything you've asked!" Tubbo replied with a smile and said, "That's great! Good job! Keep up the good work!" As he slowly inched towards the entrance, hoping for a quick way to get out of this mess. Once h reached the nether portal, he waved and said, "Bye!" Leaving before anything else could be said. Once he was away from the palace like place, flashes of Tommy skipped through his mind. Tommy in his flowing cape from the family portrait, Tommy's unusually sharp canines when he smiled and laughed at jokes and Tommy's grave, with flowers, a L'mamberg flag and his discs lying beside it. Tubbo shook his head, trying to forget the events that had taken place and decided to just forget. He just wanted his Tommy back in all honesty. And he knew that Phil, Techno and Wilbur probably did too. But making him the new Tommy was not right. And so, Tubbo say next to Tommy's grave and started talking to the wind, hoping that just maybe, Tommy might be able to hear him. And if he could, then maybe he would know that everyone missed him and that he was never alone. okay I'm done bye
this reminds me of the book i've read called Pretend She's Here about a girl who's best friend died of cancer a year ago that got kidnapped by her dead friends mother and forced to pretend to be her dead friend, very creepy book, very good read if you're okay with heavier themes.
If you think about it, this is actually really sad. Just imagine it, Tommy dies and loses his last canon life. And sleepy boi’s inc. try to get Tubbo to replace Tommy because he was his best friend, and all that’s left of Tommy. But Tubbo refuses because sleepy boi’s inc. needs to move on and get over his death.
I think this AU could go like this: where basically, in my mind, Instead of Wilbur dying Tommy does. Wilbur presses the button to explode L’manburg and phil protects wilbur and wilbur gains his sanity back but then Tommy dies from the impact of the explosion thus leading to Phil, Wilbur, and techno going half-insane eventually they have a very sad coping mechanism by mistaking tubbo for Tommy and thinking that tubbo is Tommy due to the fact that tubbo was the closest thing to being Tommy despite him also being related to them (adopted) And so they try and convince Tubbo to take the role of Tommy despite Tubbo’s protest and efforts... QwQ And to fit peoples AUs where turbo is not adopted then Tubbo was Tommy’s closest friend and basically they were like twins, two peas in a pod and so wilbur, phil, and techno felt obligated to have Tubbo in their family as a way for them to have some sense of normalcy in their broken life Q^Q
I like to think in this AU, Spinel is Tommyinnit’s Chat (TV Head and all) and is used like Spinel in the movie and seasons (idk maybe transforming into instead of a face it’s one red eye in the middle of the screen with static in the back)
Where do I start, well, it's a beautiful masterpiece, and the fact that it kinda has an unsettling air around it, making it seem like they are slightly going insane over loosing Tommy is just perfect.
my theory from this is that, this could've taken place during SMPearth and during this the sleepy bois were part of the biggest empire in the world called the Antarctic Empire. during this, a war took place and Tommy, instead of siding with the Empire, joined Business bay instead. Because of this betrayal, the others were heart broken and mad. So the war took place and, when Techno was about to kill someone (probably one of the business bay members) Tommy jumped in front of them and got stabbed by Techno instead. Philza was the one who allowed the war and could've even Initiated it. Techno was the one who stabbed Tommy and Wilbur tried to save Tommy but was too late. After this, the sleepy bois were stricken with grief and guilt from what happened during the war. Then they met Tubbo. who was the one who tried to fix everything and carry out Tommy's will which he left for him before the war. soon, the others started seeing a similarity between Tommy and Tubbo and they started trying to cope with Tommy's death by trying to get Tubbo to "replace" Tommy. Doing everything Tommy would've and could've wanted to the point that they were disbanding their lands in hopes that Tubbo would stay with them. This is just my thought process, it does say "DreamSMP" so i could be completely off XD i love their designs and this song has been one of my favorites from the movie so i couldn't help but create a storyline from this XD

Instead of being dead,what if Tommy was abandoned and left abused by Dream? Tommy tried to escape but Dream always finds him He finally gave up, and just stays there with Dream Since noone came to save him, he thought that Dream was his only "best friend" One day, Dream eventually leaves him,and said... "Tommy, I want you to stay here" "i"ll be back soon"... Tommy nods, and wait.. Years past, and Dream is still not back He had enough of waiting and decided to look after him When heading to the the nearby villages, he started to hear people gossips about the L'manburg and the Dream SMP Out of curiousity, he started to ask the villages about it..... And when they finished.... Tommy was shocked..... Dream had already move on without him... Everyone else on the SMP including the Sleepy bois inc and Tubbo... Everyone had move on... Without him... Devastated, he started to cry..... He punch the stone,the trees, every block on his sight out of anger He didn't care if it was painful.... He is already in so much pain.... Nobody cared about him when he disappeared..... When he "died".... "ISN'T IT LOVELY?" "ISN'T IT COOL?" AND ISN'T IT CRUEL AND AREN'T I A FOOL TO HAVE HAPPILY LISTENED....... HAPPY TO STAY....... HAPPILY WATCHING THEM DRIFT AWAY......

I love Steven Universe so much and so me knowing the story behind the acutual episode really puts it into prospective how the sleepy boys are so much like the dimonds. I love the concept of what would happen is the sleepy boys where actually close in the SMP and how it would effect them if they all thought tommy died or if what your implying if he actually died, and that they might reach out to tubbo for a support/ filling in for tommy, filling in the whole that tommy used to fill. You did an amazing job on showing how tubbo feels so guilty so he does want to help them but knows he could never do the job that tommy did to keep he family together or just be the comfort and support he was for the sleepy boys. also at the scene ( 0:21 ) where tubbo is standing in front of what looks like a famliy portrait of tommy and the sleepy boys shook me to the bone. IT JUST LOOKED SO COOL!!!!
YESSS. Also the 0:21 moment with the portrait and the line being spoken is 'theres a room waiting for you' which implies that they would just give him Tommy's old room. Once I realized what was happening with Tommy this went from already kind of sad to just morbid to see SMP!Tommy’s family using Tubbo and possibly trying to shape him into their image of Tommy to cope with him being gone and that’s just scary

Philza being a king and ruling the world (A.k.a Antarctic empire) and being the father of Wilbur, Techno and Tommy and the most experienced out of all of them and the most hardworking (His Hardcore series).
Techno being the eldest and prideful son helping his dad Philza with conquering the world (Antarctic empire) and being an incredibly strong warrior and strategist (*cough* The great potato war).
Wilbur being the rebellious, sadistic middle child making weird deadly tournaments for his own enjoyment (like his 100 people challenges vids).
Tommy the youngest child that is naive and irresponsible but actually pretty mature when he wants to be, plus he is the most morally good person in the whole family (Philza being a conqueror, techno being the psychopathic warrior and Wilbur as the guy who makes people do stuff for his enjoyment) Tommy seems to be the child who does strange shenanigans around the castle for fun and doesn't think about much. And maybe without him, the SBI castle will be a little quieter and empty.

"I think that went well!" Tubbo smiled satisfied at what he had done as he stood before 3 men. He was in a palace like place, where the men supposedly lived, the walls covered with historical scenes and rather interesting portraits of the family. These portraits made it look like they were actual royalty, when in reality, they were just powerful and influential figures in anything. The room was also lavishly decorated, with thrones at the end of the long room, a red velvet carpet leading to them. There were also pictures behind the thrones, each one representing where the respective person would sit. The walls had a mix of windows and portraits of the 3 men and Tubbo's best friend, some serious while others were fun memories encased within frames. The curtains were drawn, blocking out the marvelous view that Tubbo would have very much enjoyed with a certain someone, so no light from the outside could enter, and torches lit for a rather lair like look overall.
Tubbo found it weird that Wilbur had asked of him to join Philza and Techno there, but said nothing in hopes to lighten the room from the recent events, and quickly completed what he was asked off once he arrived. The task was simple really, just a quick chat and some change of rules so that L'manberg could run as smoothly as possible. He was also very impressed with the trio, since they had not caused any trouble what so ever, ever since the tragedy.
"Well.. I guess I should leave now..." Tubbo stuttered, deciding that he should leave before the silence became too suffocating to bear. He could already feel the pressure that emitted from the 3 men in front of him, almost like a silent pleac for him to stay. He turned around to leave when...
"Tubbo please," Philza started as he saw Tubbo try to leave through the open door, with Technoblade quickly saying, "You can't go." And Wilbur quickly catching on, almost pleading as he said, "You must stay..." "You're all we have left of Tommy..." Philza trailed, eyes dropping to the ground. The trio looked distraught at the thought of Tubbo leaving at best and outright terrified that the moment he left, Tubbo would be gone forever at worst. Tubbo turned around as he saw the door to the entrance of the room shut, courtesy of Wilbur who was trying to get him to stay. He urgently turned his head to face the trio once more.
He looked at them in slight fear, but seeing the overwhelming pain in their eyes, he relaxed and felt a wave of sadness crash over him. Their postures were all slumped, and even with their outfits, fit for the terrifying terrorists they once were, they looked numb. Sad and weak, unlike the enemies they once were; Technoblade the Anarchist, known for ruining governments like his, Philza, Techno's assistant and a powerful figure in general, and Wilbur, the man who had lost himself to insanity and blew up his own country, and in the attempt to redeem himself, asked his own father to stab him right through the stomach leading him to painfully return as a ghost. These were the people who were standing in front of him now, who had, surprisingly enough, stopped their mischief and asked if he wanted to chat. Tubbo was behind confusion at this point, but being trapped in a room with them was probably not good for him.
Before Tubbo could say anything about wanting to leave, Philza started talking again, saying, "Tubbo, you belong here with us!-" But was cut off when Tubbo shook his head and replied, "Erh.... Thanks, but no thanks..." He remembered everything they had done and would rather go back to where he wanted to be, L'manberg. He decided to try to get to the button that would open the door.
That's when the three walked up to him and with amazing talent, sung in perfect harmony, "Come live with us in the palace, there's a room waiting for you..."
Tubbo looked confused and terrifed as he backed away from them, only to come across a family portrait in which a certain figure was prominent, smiling as he sat in the centre of the family with a red and white shirt under a long flowing robe that everyone wore. He slowly backed away, as they individually held out their hands and sang, "Come on," Techno stuck out his scarred hand from all the wars he had and from every weapon he had held; "Come on," Wilbur stuck out his hand, ghostly pale as he himself was technically a ghost as one could say; "Come on," Philza stuck out his hand, clean and pristine. Techno and Wilbur then walked up to Tubbo and leaned against him in a brotherly fashion, shocking Tubbo as they harmonised, "Just let us adore you."
Tubbo frantically tried escape Wilbur and Techno, who were both much taller and probably stronger than him, and laughed nervously saying, "You guys have really gotten better at showing affection!" He was desperate to leave as the palace like room filled to the brim with pictures only gave him more painfully joyous memories of when his best friend was still alive. Tubbo was also mildly terrified that they might have thought that he was the exact same person that Tommy was, and was thus treating him as such. So he quickly reminded them that, "I've got my own life to get back to. Guys, don't forget that I'm not Tommy!" He then advanced to the button and clicked it, opening the main entrance once more.
Tubbo faced the main entrance as it opened up to a nether portal and sighed in relief, hoping to finally get out when they started harmonizing again.
"Yes we know that you're not him, but you were his..." Philza was gently gripping onto a picture as they sang, depicting Tubbo and Tommy, who were laughing as Tommy slung his arm around Tubbo. It was a perfect moment, both their eyes alight with joy, their smiles glinting in the light as they seemingly laughed at something just not visible in the image, all perfectly captured and framed in Phil's hands. He held it up to Tubbo, as the boy in question laughed nervously again, and they sang again, singing, "You know what is meant to love him..." That was when Wilbur grabbed a familiar red and white shirt and held it up to Tubbo as they sang, "And you remind us so much of him..." Tubbo quickly but gently pushed away Wilbur as he compared the red and white tee with Tubbo's green collared shirt. He was scared, terrified that they thought they could replace Tommy with him. He wanted to leave.
"Thanks! But I really got to go!" Tubbo said as his voice waved ever so slightly seeing Wilbur hold onto the shirt. He started to bolt for the door when the trio once more stepped forward, saying his name in mild panic. "But Tubbo!" Tubbo came to standstill as he watched the 3 talk.
Philza started, saying, "I disbanded my armies!" pointing to a rack of armour and weapons to showcase the once cruel and merciless army that Philza had now disbanded, "I liberated my colonies!" He then pointed to a map of SMP Earth and it showed that there was no territory taken by his faction at all besides his homeland.
Wilbur then took over, putting a hand on Phil's shoulder, "I never make anyone cry," Wilbur stated, before continuing, "And I don't blow up countries anymore!" This made Tubbo shiver ever so slightly as Techno took over saying, "And I've been saying please and thank you even to lower life forms Tubbo!"
This made Tubbo hold back a facepalm as he replied, "What did we talk about?" This made Techno sigh as his face scrunched up. "Equal lifeforms." He sighed.
Philza then took control of the conversation once more, explaining that, "Tubbo, we've done everything you've asked!" Tubbo replied with a smile and said, "That's great! Good job! Keep up the good work!" As he slowly inched towards the entrance, hoping for a quick way to get out of this mess. Once h reached the nether portal, he waved and said, "Bye!" Leaving before anything else could be said.
Once he was away from the palace like place, flashes of Tommy skipped through his mind. Tommy in his flowing cape from the family portrait, Tommy's unusually sharp canines when he smiled and laughed at jokes and Tommy's grave, with flowers, a L'mamberg flag and his discs lying beside it. Tubbo shook his head, trying to forget the events that had taken place and decided to just forget. He just wanted his Tommy back in all honesty. And he knew that Phil, Techno and Wilbur probably did too. But making him the new Tommy was not right. And so, Tubbo say next to Tommy's grave and started talking to the wind, hoping that just maybe, Tommy might be able to hear him. And if he could, then maybe he would know that everyone missed him and that he was never alone.

But Tubbo refuses because sleepy boi’s inc. needs to move on and get over his death.

I think this AU could go like this: where basically, in my mind, Instead of Wilbur dying Tommy does. Wilbur presses the button to explode L’manburg and phil protects wilbur and wilbur gains his sanity back but then Tommy dies from the impact of the explosion thus leading to Phil, Wilbur, and techno going half-insane eventually they have a very sad coping mechanism by mistaking tubbo for Tommy and thinking that tubbo is Tommy due to the fact that tubbo was the closest thing to being Tommy despite him also being related to them (adopted) And so they try and convince Tubbo to take the role of Tommy despite Tubbo’s protest and efforts... QwQ
And to fit peoples AUs where turbo is not adopted then Tubbo was Tommy’s closest friend and basically they were like twins, two peas in a pod and so wilbur, phil, and techno felt obligated to have Tubbo in their family as a way for them to have some sense of normalcy in their broken life Q^Q

Where do I start, well, it's a beautiful masterpiece, and the fact that it kinda has an unsettling air around it, making it seem like they are slightly going insane over loosing Tommy is just perfect.
my theory from this is that, this could've taken place during SMPearth and during this the sleepy bois were part of the biggest empire in the world called the Antarctic Empire.
during this, a war took place and Tommy, instead of siding with the Empire, joined Business bay instead. Because of this betrayal, the others were heart broken and mad.
So the war took place and, when Techno was about to kill someone (probably one of the business bay members) Tommy jumped in front of them and got stabbed by Techno instead.
Philza was the one who allowed the war and could've even Initiated it. Techno was the one who stabbed Tommy and Wilbur tried to save Tommy but was too late.
After this, the sleepy bois were stricken with grief and guilt from what happened during the war. Then they met Tubbo.
who was the one who tried to fix everything and carry out Tommy's will which he left for him before the war.
soon, the others started seeing a similarity between Tommy and Tubbo and they started trying to cope with Tommy's death by trying to get Tubbo to "replace" Tommy. Doing everything Tommy would've and could've wanted to the point that they were disbanding their lands in hopes that Tubbo would stay with them.
This is just my thought process, it does say "DreamSMP" so i could be completely off XD
