The new competitive changes are a huge W. It makes competitive more watchable. No siphon and this lootpool will allow competitive to actually be competitive and enable players to use insane tricks, clutches, combos and coordination

As much as I hate how aggressive some people are when they fight me, I would love siphon to return. I play passive because of no siphon. It's just a great mechanic to have.

To fix this, they should keep those Arena conditions (siphon, etc.) to the Unreal ranked only.
That way everyone wins.

Is definitely cool that the web shooters are back, but honesty, I still think the ODM gear is way better it gives you the same type of mobility, but you get to also attack other players. In regards to ranked and competitive, I think you're definitely right. I couldn't care less about competitive cuz everybody is sweaty and because there isn't any special items the games are always boring. So maybe this will finally hype things up and if the pros are complaining, then it's finally our time to tell them what they have told us; get good noob.
I totally agree with Sypher, but I think epic not putting in siphon is for the goal of people to play more passive because wasn’t that the point of ranked mode to begin with. Even sypher said it in his ranked video how the point of ranked was for stacked end games so this would prove that point
I think they should have siphon in some way in ranked and pubs but everything else is fine (maybe beside some mythic should be taken out) it all about adapting these bro players need to learn how to adapt to these changes

I think I can answer for the reason why they are changing it. I play Fortnite casually with friends and never touch arena, I however have already played ranked games. I never watched tournaments because without all the items it felt bland to watch, however I would watch ranked tournaments becuase the outcome of fights is determined by more things. It seems like they are trying to cater Ranked to more casual fans rather then the people who consistently play it

Happy with the changes !!. Tournaments should be just like "Real Gameplay " They were becoming very boring to watch and play in . It should not be all about building and throwing shield bubbles when there's so much more in the game that can determine a win .🎉
I'm pretty sure it was the grapple glove that had the slide trick to delay the cool down. Thats why nick eh 30 really liked them

If you look at other games with a competitive aspect, they don’t change the game for the competitive side, the whole idea of competitive is to make the normal game, competitive.
The only thing I can understand is siphon cause of third parties, but they can have it where it enables as a perk or from the 4th zone closes

I dont know why but the webshooters seem hugely nerfed. It’s practically impossible to run away with it now. If youre in a forest you cant get above the trees with it.

I get what they were aiming for, most ranked modes in games don't remove half of the items and change up the gameplay (like with siphon) so they wanted to make it the exact same. OW, Val and whatever there's not a disconnect, but also there's not insane stuff. As much as I get tired of every tweet replies being L tweet L change blah blah blah, I do think people are right about the siphon, being third partied for playing well and eliminating someone is rough. I'm split on if they're right on keeping all the pub mythics though. On one hand yea some of them are over the top, I think most people have flashbacks to Season X everytime a mythic is good, I think they could stay if they just get tuned (stat changes between pubs like how arena used to be, longer cooldowns). Sure it changes the game every season but so does introducing Heroes, Agents and other Character additions to games in other modes. Removing everything so players don't have to adapt and even just removing stuff like cars, falling trees (really?), and gas pumps just seems silly.
TLDR: What Fortnite needs the most is a community manager like all other comp games have, to talk these changes out with people. Siphon is good for helping people not be punished. Both sides needs to learn how to make compromises instead of just crying for everything to be removed.
I agree with you 100%. I only ever hear “pros” complain about how it’s harder for them and what items they wanted and taken out. When I mention this, I think back to in chapter 3 when boogie bombs were in the game and they were in arena. I felt like it made it fun and interesting but then pros complained and cried about it so epic would remove it. This is what I always remember. That’s why there were no snipers, fire, falling trees, nothing like that in arena. Maybe it was fun for them, but as a casual player, it felt very bland. Idk I think there needs to be some type of compromise. Siphon is good but maybe not 50 health/shield or maybe try a different mechanic.

@@angelcasanova5779 Competitive players didn’t actually complain about half of those things.
They were removed because from the start of Chapter 3 the servers would struggle in stacked end games because of the lag those things caused.
Cars for instance were greatly missed but it was accepted that to have stable performance in tournaments they had to go (that was EPIC’s reasoning).
I’m actually really interested to see what happens with the servers with all this stuff added back in because intuition would tell me that tournaments are going to have all the same performance problems again.

There needs to be another no guns mythic gamemode again like in ch2 season 4. Imagine the naruto mythic buffed, kamehameha, nimbus cloud, deku smash, thunder spears and odm, spiderman mythics, lightsabers with force and darth vader's lightsaber, and some of the best marvel mythics (iron man unibeam and gloves, dr doom mythics, thor and groot). That would be so much fun, but fortnite can only collab for so long
When you were talking about the scenes in Fortnite, I look at Apex Legends, the thing is that no where is safe for casual players because they get destroyed by preds or high level players, but then those high level players don’t want to go up against other high level people so they go to pub for easy kills and dubs. I don’t know anything about tournaments but that’s my take when it comes to the casuals and competition players

I feel bad saying this, but I think ODM Gear is better than the Web Shooters, because you can attack them, which is very useful. Also, it just doesn’t feel the same as Chapter 3 Season 1. 😢

Siphon does exist in both modes... they're called augments
Also just as a friendly reminder, you don't take fall damage after you fall from a swing, _however_ if you or your web gets shot down, you will take fall damage (unless you land in water or something). This also applies to ODM gear

sypherpk' aim is insane even he knows it!
Something you can do with the webshooters that they didn't patch, is resting your cooldown. Normally, your cooldown is dependent on how many times you swing (I think it caps at a 15 second cooldown). But once you hit the ground, there's a brief window where you can start swinging again. So you can reset your cooldown by swinging once and it only takes 3-5 seconds instead of 10 or 15.

I think sypher got confused with the grapple glove because you could slide then swing but I don’t remember sliding and swinging with the Spider-Man gloves in chapter 3 season 1
