Hope y'all are doing great!
I've been super busy lately but I tried my best to still put this up for y'all to watch 😁
Sometime ago, we visited the ancient city of Cabo Verde popularly known as Cidade Velha.
It's a major tourist site and it holds the Forte Real and the Sé Catedral de São Filipe.
I didn't film the whole thing cause it was a long and demanding process but here's the part I was able to capture.
I hope you enjoy watching this.
Much love from me 😘😘
Tchau!
How could I not subscribe when you did a video on such a beautiful island. Cape Verdeans, give the video a thumbs up and subscribe. Vive Cabo Verde.
The serenity and beauty is this place 😍😍
Cape Verde music and dancing is awesome 👌 you should do a video on one of them..
I loveeee how ancient the city looks! Like with brick houses and roads 😍
I know right😁, this was the first city ever built in Cape Verde so you can imagine how old it is 🤷🏽♀️
Cidade Velha was the first European settlement built in the tropics.
That's why it's a World Heritage site.
Used to be extremely important during European expansion and subsequent colonisation of the Americas.
Crops such as sugar cane were tried over there first, then introduced all over the Caribbean.
They made Grogue, later introduced in the Caribbean where it gained the name of Rum.
And very rich too. The city had more than 10 massive cathedrals.
Slaves were "stored" there after capture on the African mainland, prior to being sent off to the Americas.
The bay in front of you is littered with wrecks of the ships that usually come over to attack it and were "done" by the cannons of the fortress on the hilltop.
Francis Drake destroyed it twice; Cassard, a French pirate attacked it too.
And many other pirates.
You went there twice, apparently totally oblivious of where you were.
Thank you for making these videos. I'm Cape Verdean American and I love seeing the islands.
Awww thanks for the compliments. I hope I can continue making videos in the future 😊🙏🏽

Hi
I am your you tube suscriber.
Awwwn I'm so sorry I've been so inconsistent😩
Nice video, nice place!
Instead of speaking English and still have English subtitles, why don't you spice it up a little by switching to Français and have the English meaning as subtitle, comme une Montréalaise. 😀
😂😂
No wahala
I just wasn't sure y'all would be able to hear me in those parts
I will speak French next time 😁
