Hello Ivan! Hope you are well! I used to be a beat academy member in 2020 for a year. Loved the resources I got from you! I have a request/topic for a video. The topic is about templates or having a set of sounds or at least drum samples (backbone of a song) to know what works for someone as a producer and helps in being consistent with a style. Or is it just about selecting the right samples every time by scrolling through thousands of samples? How to be efficient with sounds in general? I’m having a hard time explaining this fully but I hope you understand and have some advice for me/us the viewers 😅. Thank you! 😃😃

Two Questions:
1. Is it right that you use "stereo" instead of "pingpong" for the slapback delay? Is it reverb or echo?
2. In original Houdini the drums have more grove than in your tutorial. How was that made? By 16th swing or do they layer the drums in a specific pattern to the moogbase?

Sounds really good! Good work! I think that "Main melodic thing" has other notes too then just octave. I think it is like: D-A D-A-F-A-D-A. or something like that. Or maybe bass-line goes like that. But anyway good job! :)

Love your approach to educating. I also never realize how close the Juno riff is to the song “it’s my life”. I love all the variations of songs. After all, it’s all math. Whether you do 4+4 or 7+1….. it all equals 8
oh I just made that comment haha, they really did try to disguise it, ie I think they knew what they were doing as the 4th chord sounds crap as does not really work, unfortunately the song is nowhere near this classic

Hey, Mr. Factor-wondering if, in your Beatacademy coaching you delve into the *psychology* associated with the process of writing songs? To clarify: i'm someone who has wanted/tried to make music since i was a teen in the 80s, but i have absolutely zero results to show from my various sporadic efforts. In the last 40 years, i started with guitar and then got into synths. But, i don't feel like i have much actual talent for playing. That's not the issue, though. I do have a lot of confidence in my sensibilities and tastes, and hoped that would guide me, in combination with the technology now available. But, here's the thing-it seems that one truly needs a 'healthy' amount of ego in order to be productive. One needs to actually *like* what they are making. That's too general, sorry. So, if you observe a lot of people making 'beats' or writing or whatever, they are typically 'grooving on-' and enjoying each little step they take when writing parts. Someone putting together a drum track or a bass riff, for instance, will literally be bobbing his head, smiling... enjoying that process. Because that healthy ego has him believing what he's doing is "fire" as the kids say. I don't have that. My efforts are largely frustrating, because my aspirations each time i try to write something are likely too high. I'm wanting/expecting to create a song i *love* - and something that will immediately be an 'all time great' piece of music. So, that's one thing. Secondarily, there's the matter of envisioning the complete song. If i were to deconstruct or take stems from even my favorite songs, starting with a drum loop, for example, i doubt i'd find anything 'moving' about it. Yet, when we write, we're expected to often begin with drums, and create something that we believe is good enough to commit to before moving on to the next element. I tend to not get that far, because, again, i'm trying to make something that i like enough to want to commit to, and an unhealthy ego doesn't permit that kind of attachment to anything i do.
To clarify further, this 'problem' is not generalized across everything i do. I'm professionally a graphic designer. I have no such issues there. I've been a photographer. No such issues there. It seems to be a music thing. And i don't see a way to get over it. Sorry for the longwinded screed, but if you haven't considered this, perhaps you might benefit by creating content that addresses it. Unfortunately, i feel that the largest audience for this topic would have abandoned the efforts too soon to find your video.....

could you break down Lady Gaga's song from the album "Born this way" or "Fame"?
While producing the record, Kevin Parker didn't use acoustic congas. Instead he used the Roland TR-727 percussion machine, which kinda gave a "robotic/automated" feel to the congas themselves, so using live congas is not actually a "requirement" for recreating the song.

If you take vocals and use some preset bass, some other preset chords and lead, then you will get karaoke in the mix. Standing alone, your score may sound great, but the vocals sound separate and the score sounds separate.

How can you make a song sound cohesive?
You can, of course, do as in the 1980s - run everything through a ring modulator. But this way you will get an acidic sound, which audiophiles are unlikely to appreciate.
In the case of Dua Lipa, the producer acted differently. He took the singer's voice and reproduced the harmonics of her voice using a synthesizer. Then he made instruments from this blank.
She has a unique voice, with a very rich spectrum. The result was a very strange bass, reminiscent of a mix of bass and harpsichord, and a somewhat creepy organ, as if from a spy movie.

The point of the vids isnt to recreate the songs exactly the same way theyre made with exact same BPMs etc, but to give tips on how to achieve similiar sounding results. He had said this many times in many videos. So thats your own foolishness
