yep how sweet is the first time minji and haerin are allowed to go fully into their more natural deep vocals.. also yes its a breakup song.. but its actually referring to breaking up with hybe/ador.. the video is the world looking on at their 'car crash' moment to see how thing 'pan' out (drone camera panning all over them) .. animals, peoples and inanimate objects like cctv just focusing in on them but doing nothing to help... the venomous spider you noticed visually accommpanies the line 'its simple its like biting an apple'.. this is thought to be referencing the contracts they signed and comapring them to the poison apple in snow white... the ducks are also present thoughout the whole video and are said to represent how newjeans view themselves as the 'ugly ducklings' of hybes girl groups... they get help in the end but their car is still broken implying they are still here for now but their situation is still broken.. given whats happened now... its pretty spot on as far as foreshadowing goes.. also again with their 90s rnb vibes.. this is 90s miami bass.. another clubland/dance variant of RnB :). Bubble gum is more traditional 90s Rnb/Citypop... like their first EP but i feel has a more mature vibe. Bubblegum is also thought to be a precursor to 'ditto' as their is a 6th member of the friend group who is never seen but is doing all the filming... it also has literally the same aesthetic visually as ditto and the ending of hyein asking the camera person if they want to be friends has brought suggestions that its actually ban heesoo from ditto behing the camera and this is the start of her imaginary world with newjeans. also yes they are a 90s throwback group so they always gonna have vcr's and 90s themed videos :P wait till you get to supernatural lol :P.. Their 1st EP aside.. ALL newjeans videos following have deeper subliminal meanings... you just have to scratch under the pretty surface :P
There's actually no problem reacting on RUclips to their latest album, since there's no Japanese company or anything like that involved. It's more of a collaboration in that aspect and calling it a "Japanese debut" is actually kind of dubious, when you listen to it you'll realize why lol. It should be noted that at that time Hyein sprained her ankle while practicing the choreography for How Sweet and you will notice that she appears to be standing for very little time.
I love how sweet, its another one of their super chill songs. Which is wat i love most about newjeans music. Refreshing, r&b, 90's vibe, mellow, and chill. Not everyone likes that kind of genre but its so unique in kpop. Bubble gum was sooo different to hear from them, took me some time to get used to it, but its so cute n sweet. Love and miss my girls 😢😢❤ great reaction!
hyein has a lot of lines in bubble gum, letting you know that most color coded lyrics (at least the ones i saw which are only njs' songs) are inaccurate in terms of who sings this and that line. she sang the first chorus in falsetto after hanni's line, and also in the bridge that leads to the outro and some other parts in the verses. and yes! her voice is amazing (love all of their voices equally)
I thought it was weird that she only got one part. I am not 100% at the point yet where I can tell their voices in songs yet. NGL that usually takes me a bit with groups unless (TO ME) their voices are very distinct.
