    ASML is one of the highest quality companies in the world, but it is not American, it is from the Netherlands and has been spun off from Philips. Cymer is owned by ASML.

    If it was all US technology, why don't you have such a company in your country? Obviously ASML has technology in which your country and any other countries trail... and not by a small margin either, there are claims that they are 10 years ahead of the rest of the world. It's really a superpower, and way ahead of the rest.

      Their systems were developed in the US.

      @@RajDeelish I mean.. when we look at manufacturing sites, there are some in the Netherlands, the United States, Taiwan, and Germany. Besides this, they also have offices in many other countries. Sure, some parts were probably developed at an office on US soil but to say that it's American technology is kinda weird.

      @@RajDeelish EUV was developed and made production ready in the Netherlands. The original research into EUV was in the US. When ASML bought SVG with consent of the US-government in 2000 all patents were then owned by ASML. US based equipment companies then were not competent enough to develop EUV in something very usefull.
      So all credits to Martin van den Brink.

      @@kwintdeknegt9326 wrong. Cymer and the U.S research did the plasma EUV light source tech. That’s why the U.S is able to block their export to China. Please do more research. Cymer holds the patent and the was acquired by asml.

      Cymer fue adquirida por ASML que es de Países Bajos. USA debería pagar un canon a ASML si pretende prohibir sus exportaciones a China!

    Dutch Tulips - the highest and finest.

    There is a non-zero chance that the new Dutch government will cut off the supply of highly skilled foreign workers to ASML. Their population doesn't want them, their business climate is deteriorating. Maybe that company should move elsewhere.

      @Broodjemetbeleg 3 месяца назад +1

      Not true at all. They mostly live in Veldhoven, where the company is. The only thing changing is the tax breaks for foreign employees.
