Just wanted to say THANK YOU!! for the instructions. I had the P0011 code and this seemed to fix it. The car was running really rough during low speeds and even stalling. Now my 180k mile rogue drives like its brand new. This video made me a lot more confident in doing this job although I had the misfortune of braking the bolt holding the exhaust solenoid when I was loosing it, but by the grace of God was able to slowly get it out and throw in a new one.😅😅. .

I was hesitant to do this work myself, I'm closing in on 65 years of age, and though I have done just about all one can do with regards to repairing cars, wasn't sure I wanted to tackle this. The video is great, but the parts seemed a bit buried but was surprised when I actually looked at where they were I thought, what the hell, I'll give it a go. It all went very smooth and had no problems. I did not have as long an extension available but found out I could reach the 10-mil bolt by removing the inner wheel well section that you have to remove to change the oil filter. That gave me enough room to use the 2 short extensions that I do own. Thanks for the vid, very helpful!
I’m working on one with circuit codes for all three vvt solenoids has anyone ran into this, chaffed wiring? Vehicle has 50k miles on it. I found the wiring harness behind the valve cover on the intake side and near the throttle body was chaffed and shorting out on a bolt, which blew a 10 amp fuse in the integrated distribution module. All three vvt solenoids and the evap vent control solenoid share a circuit and all is fixed. I hope this will help someone in the future.
Thank you for the video. about to do the same on my rogue this week, if you have to do it again, do you think you can change them without jacking up the engine / removing the engine mount? since you can remove the bolts from under the car?
I think I could try, removing the bolts is possible, but removing the solenoid is questionable. Installing a new solenoid would be the hardest. There's nothing to loose trying it your way. Please let us know if it worked.
@mrOnlinePolice Does this car have an EGR Valve? I can't find literally anything online. It's actually giving me a migraine. If anyone else knows that would be great too.
You did an excellent diy job. That said, no way I would attempt it, out of my skill/ability range. My thought, might as well replace all three solenoids while there. I would think doing the job on a lift would help especially working from the back. I'm wondering what the average cost range is to have it done at a shop. Nice diy vid.
@@mrOnlinePolice I'm a senior so I estimate my capabilities based on some experience. Replacing the three solenoids in a vacuum, no biggie. But I've watched multiple videos on their replacement. No way I would attempt it from the top. The one youtube I saw, mech had it on a lift and worked from underneath using long extensions. Even that was a pita as mech stated, but it looked easier that any attempt from top.
I had p0014 code in my wifes 2015 rouge, so i changed the oil first and the problem persisted. When i checjed the code again, i had code 052b. Im wondering if i should change all 3. Im going to run an engine flush and change the oil again before i buy any solenoids.
My rogue is running just like that now. Im not gonna have any time this whole week to fixed. Do you think thats gonna hurt the engine if i runnid for a while?

The way Nissan designed the engine bay feels like suicide-class design. Getting into this thing has been absolute cancer. Your video is helpful but makes me frustrated with Nissan.
I simply installed the new one towards the back and used a good used one towards the front. That way, if one fails again, it would most likely be an older one, and it's in the location where I don't have to work as much to get to it

I have no code , I have a bank 1 monitor vvt fail. Is this what it could be ? It’s a 2015 Nissan Rogue. 77,000 miles.

When eyes are afraid, hand just do it. But I agree it is a little complicated for a beginner

I dont know to be honest. At the very least you will have worse fuel mileage. What's the worse that can happen, I would not be able to tell you

@@johnwillyn only thing I can say, and I don't advise doing this, I drove mine for 440 miles. It stopped at some point and appeared again.

I read the check engine light fault description and then matched it to the description I have at the drawing presented at 1:56
His code was pointing at the exhaust one which is on the one closest to the exhaust side of the head
