I was having a hard time procrastinating, so I put this on cause of the title. I'm still procrastinating a bit but now I have these sick beats that make me feel like I'm doing something productive!
Had to wake up early for work, so I got up an hour and a half early, had an apple, a cup of coffee, and enjoyed the sunrise from my backyard. It looks like today is going to be a good day.
How to run: Step one, desire to run. Write what you say you want, and write the reasons why, and ask why for those reasons too until you hit the base reason… and be sure by asking why to _that_ too. You cannot force yourself to want to run. Tape up the reason, easily readable, somewhere so you don’t lose sight. Step two, look at where you want to go. Write it down. Be specific. Now make it even more specific. Break the distance into smaller stretches with landmarks in the park, so you’ll know how far you’ve ran and how long it took. This is your roadmap. Review it every morning and night so you can track your progress. Something might move in the way, and you might have to change your path or even destination, but without having that destination in the first place, you’ll never know where to go. It’s unwise to fire an arrow without having a target painted. Step three, grab something to pull you up to stand. You’ve never done this before, so don’t trick yourself by thinking you’ll start off as a marathon or sprinting champion. That’ll only demoralize you. Grab onto any old park bench, your simple introduction to the complex craft of running. Step four, observe what happens when you move your legs. Use your eyes and mind and sponge-absorb what happens, and try to figure out why they happen like that. Step five, take a step. It’s okay if you fall, falling just shows you a new method and its result. Write down why you fell so you can refer to it when you try again. Figure out new techniques and play and test things out while you walk towards your destination. You’ll fall down a lot, wobble, and flail like a dolphin-chicken, but write what went wrong and get back up. When you get frustrated and you can’t understand why things aren’t working, take a break and get plenty of sleep. Then think about what was going wrong and maybe even ask a fitness coach about it. Ask multiple fitness coaches! Sometimes things just don’t “click” until you hear the right wording. Step six, review the reason you started this. You’ve taped it up where you’ll see it every day, right? Make sure you’re looking at your roadmap often too. Don’t spend that effort getting your sight only to close your eyes. Step seven, start to run. All the while, enjoy the journey! A doggo doesn’t take a car ride to go to a destination, he gets excited to go on a car ride because of the sights and wind. And the most important thing: pray and read the Bible. God knows His plan for you. Trust in Him ❤️ Edit: changed order, small edits
