+Honda NC750X Stuff Haha not meant to get ya down! Just pointing out the common things I see, that way we can make your stuff better every time! All good mate be stoked! 💪
Pacific Arc Tig Welding it worked, still looked pretty ugly but I was able to get both pieces fused without burning a hole in the top one for the first time! 🙂 Your advice to get the pieces well fused together at the start was what did it for me.
Awesome dude. Definitely focus on the start is massive. Hard to make corrections on the fly. Best to get it perfect to start, then just adjust and babysit as you go:)
Like the pliers that I modified for the corner joint, I also modified a pair of pliers for the T joint. It will handle up to 3/16" thick material. PS: I weld left hand most of the time, but can weld right hand if needed.
I’m currently working with steel. Saving aluminum for once I’m better with the basics. Anyways I’m burning up my filler and chasing it before it gets to my puddle. Is that due to torch angle?
Nice instruction! I am assuming that if your weld is sitting low in your joint that you need raise your arc more to the vertical plate of the fillet joint? Due to the gravity effect. Maybe I missed on how you correct it
You got it:) That’s why practicing in the V position (or called Flat technically,) you can learn to make the leg lengths even. Then when you switch to gravity pulling more to one side, you can compensate by aiming a bit to the high side:) Cheers!
Sir , we pretty much have the same machine, is yours a 275 precision TIG ? are you using the advanced panel ?what are your gas settings to include tungsten type/color? I agree on the 1/8 tungsten for 1/4 aluminum but for some reason im still not getting it down perfect. are you using the minimum amps setting or all at once ? what is the type of filler rod being used here ? are you using any balance (cleaning vs PEN) ? please let me know here, im trying to dial in my machine and any insight would be appreciated
Was that 1/8 aluminium material ? I dont think you confirmed that. Also is there any document that guides on machine settings for various material and thicknesses and joint types for beginners.
I’d dab it up with more fill right off the top. If you’re melting the edges away before giving it filler- that’s what’ll help. Give er a hand to join up🍻🤙
Dang thank you! Glad it was helpful to you! I enjoy making these a lot, so always happy to hear that someone enjoys! Thank you for reaching out with a comment! Cheers from Canada 🇨🇦
@@PacificArcTigWelding Your presence in front of the camera is good right off the bat and you are getting more and more comfortable as the videos continue. I've certainly enjoyed them as a beginner and look forward to more. Any instruction on feeding rod would be good as like most, it's what I struggle with the most at this point; that and fillets...I hate f&$#ing fillets! LOL
@@markrand652 Oh man thats a huge compliment! I felt so awkward filming at first, It's funny- I can stand in front of a classroom full of people and instruct no problem, but turn a camera on, and I was all kinds of awkward at first. Getting more confidence now so it's becoming a lot of fun. That's a great video idea, I'll plan to put that one together, so thanks for the idea! It may not come out for a little bit, but It'll come out sometime...too many ideas for the moment! haha How long have you been Tig Welding for? Where are you located? Cheers Dusty
@@PacificArcTigWelding Off and on for the past year but basically all together 4-5 months. Hey is that .250 thick ? I got another practice kit from weld metals online this time with with some .125 thick & 1/16, I'm using 1 amp per .001 & man I keep blowing thru or (Fucking shining up my tungsten lol). Yeah t-joint isn't my friend oh and by the way I haven't duplicated a successful t-joint since I did 2 weeks ago, although I didn't have anything to practice on either.
It’s a tough one. If you’re struggling, I’d step back to the previous joint to get on track. It’s sometimes best to go back to an easier version that you can already do, it’ll help to dial in some details and get confidence up again. It happens, sometimes you nail a new weld and then can’t duplicate it, leads to getting frustrated. I’d recommend just step back and try that approach with some lap joints and really dial them in. Then when you’re feeling good you can jump back at the T joint. And yeah it’s 1/4” material 🍻
@@PacificArcTigWelding thanks Dusty. That's what I'll do, I'm going back to dialing in running beads actually I can still get better at that. I'm going to get a ig account & I will show you. 1 more thing how far down do you take you argon bottle before you trade er' in ?
Usually when I catch the first bit of cloudy stuff in my weld pool. Then she’s gone. Under 500psi somewhere usually...? And yeah hit me up on Ig also! Here is fine too but pictures help for sure.
Haha I am indeed a lefty. Flipped it for the demo as 99% of people I teach are right handers. I asked the few lefty’s I know if I should flip it and we all said we have an eye to learn from a right hander, but right handers seem to have trouble learning from lefty’s. Strange hey? 🙏🙏🙏
Was hoping the vid showed welding with the plates at 90 deg horizontal / verticle - can't always tilt to make life easy. Do how have a vid that show this , especially if the plates are different thicknesses, not sure if I need to weave or angle or what? Thanks for doing these they are a big help!
Awesome question! I haven’t gotten that vid made yet; I wanted this to be for beginners practicing. But great idea! I’ll put it on the list! I appreciate the suggestion! Cheers my friend!
Excellent video. I've been MIG and stick welding as a hobbyist off and on over my 73 years. I just started TIG last spring when I got my Everlast TS221STi. Great machine, although I'm limited to 200A. I started my education on RUclips with Chucke2009 until he decided to digress from his expertise in welding and started doing political videos which resulted in him being pulled off of RUclips. Then it was Bob Moffatt and the crew at weld.com, Jody at weldingtipsandtricks.com, Justin on the fabrication sight, This Old Tony et.al. You've been a breath of fresh air. You are the first guy I've seen using 1/8 electrodes and filler. And your amperage settings seem to be substantially higher than the old rule of 1A per .001 inch, but it seems to work well for you and I suspect you're backing off the pedal substantially as you roll? Do you have any issues with arc start on thin material/low amperage with 1/8 electrodes? Any thoughts about 2% Lanthenated v E3?
Hey Rodger! Great questions and thank you so much for the kind words! I typically don’t find an issue with the 1/8”, as for smaller stuff I taper myself the electrode to a point, and then I tend to ball my tungsten quite small, so it basically acts as if it were a 1/16” with a ball. I do use 3/32” in some other vids but if you run your tungsten to a point with a small ball, it helps a lot with start up. As for the lanthanated tungsten, I’ve been using 2% lately with either of my machines for my channel and both seem to work really well with it. I’ve just got some new LayZr tungsten from Ck worldwide, so looking forward to trying them with dc- Thanks so much for your message, I really appreciate hearing from you! Keep in touch:) Cheers🍻 Dusty

I’m currently working with steel. Saving aluminum for once I’m better with the basics. Anyways I’m burning up my filler and chasing it before it gets to my puddle. Is that due to torch angle?
Awesome video. What do you do if anything to clean the first section of weld before restarting for the second half?
I actually don’t Do anything. If I’ve cleaned it properly before the first pass, then the second should go down nicely:)
Welcome my friend. Please more movies. I watching movies on my country in Poland

You are using a stubby gas Lens. I ordered the standard length gas lens/cup by mistake. Is the stubby a big advantage

What tungsten color are you using in your everlast machine for aluminum?
Thanks for this, this is the only joint I have trouble with when doing Tig welding
Great! Let me know how it goes!
Yeah, me too!
God the reason I live tig is that beautiful arc noise, sounds like lightsabers Clashing

When you say "back off the heat" how do you do that without changing settings?

Got any with just the tungsten no additional rod?
Why does the edges curl back and away from each other when I’m tacking the plates together for aluminum?
60% bal
120 hz
1/8 plate
3/32 tungsten.

Do you weld with your doggo in the room? If so does the UV light damage a doggo's eyes if it looks at it?
My tungsten needs to be cleaned after each pass, the arc hesitated in the second try and then stop.could be the machine?
What about frequency and balance ?
I've been failing to do 1/8 Fillet. But I've been trying with 120~ amps. Not hot enough? 17 torch with 1/8 tunsten
Always good to try a bit hotter! I usually bump up by 10-20 amps to experiment:)
