    Had a buddy in High School that bought a Valliant Signet with a 273 four speed. He used to street race all the time. He had a bumper sticker made that he put on the rear bumper that said "You Sure Didn't Taste Like A V8"! Pretty fast little car!

    Thank you. Fifty years ago we were pretty much an all-Mopar family. Mine was a '66 Chrysler 300 Convertible, red with a white top, 383 4 bbl. Great car, but it was a challenge for me then to keep gassed up and maintained properly while going to college part-time and working part-time. Then the oil shock arrived and I sold it. I'd love to have it now.

    VERY good video, You should do a Smog Era (73-77) muscle car video, Idk where your from/live, sounds like the Northeast, I'm from the Midwest but live in Southwestern Triangle (Northwest Arizona, Southern Nevada and Southeastern California) and go to shows in Vegas, Phoenix and Socal, the 73-77 Muscle cars, by all 4 of the Big 4 including AMC, is BY FAR the most popular builds, They are cheap, often still running and driving and parts are still available in the parts stores. The second most popular is take the late 40's and early 50's hot rod bodies and putting them under the late 70's and early 80's full size and wagon frames and using the engine out of the Fullsize/Wagon's drive train and building a dirt cheap budget hot rod, one of the guys in my car club put a 54 Chevy Fleetline on a 81 Olds Delta 88 frame and spent less than a $1000 on the complete build, He had the Fleetline and spent $400 of the Olds, and drove it home, they have the same wheel base, and there's VERY little modifying and if you wanted to you and a buddy could do one over a long weekend. The 3rd most popular is the Bull/Brick Nose (1980-1991) Ford F150's, they are the last of the Affordable classic trucks and NOS parts plus the aftermarket is still very big.

    • @ultimatemusclecar
      @ultimatemusclecar  8 месяцев назад +1

      Yes, they call it a "vinyl applique" on the rear roof c-pillars. Only for the 4-door and only for the New Yorker, it came standard. The full vinyl roof was available as an option. The applique was not available on the Newport or the 300, just the New Yorker. It was also on the '65 and '66 New Yorkers.

      I think they call that…..INFLATION!
      Classic cars appreciate….current cars, depreciate.

    • @ultimatemusclecar
      @ultimatemusclecar  8 месяцев назад +2

      You have to compare it to today's dollars. If you go to a dealership today I'm sure you're not going to find new cars for $4,000. $4,000 in todays dollars is equivalent to about $35,000.

    • @stephenholland5930
      @stephenholland5930 8 месяцев назад +1

      60 years of inflation might have something to do with it.
