These latest episodes were definitely great. Superman awakened, kidnapped again, only this time he's lost in space. As misguided as Kara is shown to be, deep down, she does want to bond with Clark. Despite not agreeing with each other, Clark and Kara are definitely bonding. I can't help but enjoy how Clark teases Kara when he realizes that she has a crush on his friend Jimmy. Of course, Kara gets him back by pretending that the helmet part of her suit is malfunctioning, only to reveal to Clark that super powered kryptonians can survive in the vacuum of space. It was nice seeing them play in space. Apparently, Clark is aware of the moments when he suddenly gets more powerful and how it's usually due to a moment when he needs to protect someone. Kara seems to show signs that such a phenomenon has never happened to her. When Clark and Kara arrive on Thanagar and see it destroyed, this is where we start to see the cracks in Brainiac's conditioning over Kara. Kara showed signs of not knowing what Brainiac had her do to the planets that are made a part of the new kryptonian empire. Brainiac, tired of waiting, sends his drones to get Kara and Superman back on course with his ship, which apparently is this show's version of Kandor. We are also made painfully aware that Kara has no knowledge of her biological father, Zor-El. Her adopted father is Primus Brainiac, and he's quite the villain in this episode. Around Kara, Brainiac acts like a father, but he shows more of his true personality around Clark when it's just them. Brainiac revealed to Kal-El that he knew both of his biological parents, Jor-El and Lara, using that knowledge to lure Clark in. It marks the first time Clark learned about his biological mother's name. Then, to test what Superman is capable of, he has his drones take on the form of a Green Lantern, Parademon, and a Thanagarian. After seeing Superman's great potential, Brainiac is convinced that he can use Superman's powers to restore the kryptonian empire, starting with the conquering of Earth. Naturally, Superman won't let Brainiac take over Earth or use him as his weapon, but Brainiac clearly is going to try to force Superman to his will. Despite Superman's best efforts, once Brainiac used a red sun energy field, it was easy for him to subdue our kryptonian hero. To make things worse, we start to see the full effects of Brainiac's conditioning over Kara. It's a combination of raising her, manipulating her, and even brainwashing her. However, her time with Jimmy and Clark influenced Kara to learn the truth of what Brainiac had her do, which seemed to set her up on a path to redemption. A small glimmer of hope is shown when a ship reaches Kara carrying Lois, Jimmy, Malah, and the brain.
The episode afterward, while not as good as the previous, is a good episode. Superman isn't even in this episode beyond his image being used and him being mentioned. Of course, Amanda Waller takes advantage of the situation to tarnish Superman's good name and use her human defense Corp to take over Metropolis. As if I needed more of a reason to hate Amanda Waller. Fortunately, I don't think that the people of Metropolis buy her propaganda against Superman. Unfortunately, when someone tries to discredit her claim, Amanda dismissed it and silenced those who disagree with her. Lois is obviously still dealing with the break-up that she caused. She's determined to do whatever it takes to make things right with Clark, even if it means teaming up with Livewire to steal a spaceship from S.T.A.R labs. Of course, Jimmy has to be the one to pay her. I was a bit surprised that he used up all of his remaining money to hire Livewire, but it shows what he's willing to do for his best friend. You even see that Jimmy does live by what Superman stands for. It's both surprising and unsurprising that Livewire and Heat Wave are a couple. Nice to see Mallah and the Brain return to help. It is such a shame that all the planning doesn't go according to plan. The part I didn't like but is still good for Lois' character development is how she feels about Kara. Lois is just angry at Kara to the point that she's willing to use kryptonite against her. If only she knew that Clark and Kara bonded. Jimmy was right about the situation with Kara not being so simple, and it makes sense since he actually spent time getting to know her. Lois doesn't really know anything about Kara, and Jimmy called Lois out on behaving just like Sam did with Superman. Lois just saw Kara as the enemy without really knowing her, just like Sam did with Superman during season 1. Interestingly enough, just as Sam was willing to at least try to see Superman's humanity, Lois was willing to at least try to give Kara a chance, even if it takes some convincing from Jimmy. It's understandable why Lois is just lashing out at Kara when she's still hurting from her last conversation with Clark, but we the audience know that Clark wouldn't be happy if Lois used kryptonite against his cousin. It's also weird to see Livewire give Lois love advice, but Livewire and Heat Wave make a nice couple. Apparently, she overhead what Lois said and seems to know about Lois having feelings for Superman. Hopefully, Livewire didn't hear the parts about Clark. The tension of this episode is lessened because we know Lois, Jimmy, Mallah, and the Brain make it into space, but it's still nice to see how they got there. We also see more of Deathstroke's rivalry with not only Livewire but with Lex Luthor. Amanda Waller seems to be favoring Lex over Slade. Now Lois is aware of Jimmy having feelings for Kara, and the episode ends the same way as the previous one, with Lois and Jimmy finding Kara. I really hope that they can put aside their differences to save Superman.

You were basically correct saying he was fighting "prisoners" except its way worse. Brainiac took these warriors brains, put them into robots and has them fight his army and most likely Kara for training repeatedly. And since the last thing they remembered most likely is fighting for their lives their "anger and rage" makes for "great training" in his own words.
And since telling them their "dead" probably wouldn't do anything, they most likely think their still alive fighting for their planets, survival, or just slaves fighting for freedom.

Was wondering if Brainiac was controlling Zod and has him in that suit but who knows now.
