Sir I could literally watch you build anything all day everyday!!! It’s called damn you do pristine work!!! Love the way you edited this vid. Just showing the process and no talking. Unintentional ASMR haha. I can’t believe you just happened upon that circular stone piece in the woods. I think I’d call that divine intervention my friend. Looking forward to many more like this!! ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
@@TheFixerHomeRepair Haha yes it certainly is. I wrote the comment before the end of the video so now I know that you knew it was there but still what a great fit!!! Superb job as always!!!
I don’t care what anyone says this is the best way to work at home in peace and I have done something’s around my home some good projects and some not so good but just being out there is therapeutic 😊
You did the best job! My back was killing me just watching those tree roots lol! Such a good video showing the whole process! I think this might work for my parents yard! Thanks VM👏👏👏
Just a tip many don’t know for anyone who is abutting two pieces of wood: the half-lap woodworking joint is easy! Easier to search for it to see a picture, but; If you have a 4x4, at each end, cut a chunk halfway (2”) down for just the last 4”. Do the same with the wood it abutted, then just put the two cut ends together. This way, you can nail through both pieces from above, creating a clean connection that won’t shift back and forth.
I loved the no commentary! Before this video I started watching one with a couple building a deck and their commentary was so over the top I lasted 10 minutes of a 39 minute video. Yours was perfect, I saw all the info I needed 👍👍
It was very satisfying watching you methodically create the patio and freshen up your yard. There's so much to do in my own yard, and it was nice to see someone make progress, even if it's not me!
Looks amazing!! We just overhauled 3 huge flower beds, rebuild our front deck/porch and reseeded a section of our grass that was all weeds by our sidewalk so I can appreciate the huge amount of work you just did in this video. You always make it look easy meanwhile there I am red faced and dying doing my stuff 😂
Not to take away from the beautiful work this man did on his yard, but that's even more amazing that your work taxes you like that and yet you're still out there getting it done. Good stuff SaltySeed 👍
I must say, that patio looks brilliant and very inviting and comfortable. I did miss the commentary, but what you said at the end made sense. Great job and great filming 👏👏👏
I foresee A LOT of relaxing family and friends time there. Beautiful job. Your sad plant is a daffodil bulb, I think. It’s doing it’s thing by dying back as spring turns to summer. Plant taller bulbs in the back, shorter bulbs in the front (like crocus) and a few perennials in the middle like more peony (the pink flowering plant already there) and hosta. Thanks for saving the existing peony.
Very helpful video; we're thinking about doing a similar project in our backyard and this gave me a good sense of how to get started, thank you! From what I could see, the plant that "looks a little sad" is probably a daffodil bulb, which will regrow/rebloom in the spring. If it didn't bloom this year, it probably didn't have enough sunlight; you can always dig it up and plant it somewhere sunnier if you like.
Now that you have shown me how, with a strong back to help me, I think I can finally do this in an area that has been worrying me- when it gets cooler!🥵. Thank you for showing all of the steps needed. 👍👍
Working on the storage/ woodshed today. Just finished with my raised bed garden. Feel for you with the shovel work, filled raised bed by shovel and five gallon bucket. 20 yards worth turned out great though. Love the patio
Man, the way you have basically rebuilt your house entirely is something to be admired. I'm still pretty young (22) and it would be my DREAM to buy a house that needs work, just to update it myself.
finally a video that I could leave the volume up on. No chippy background music, no attempts at cutesy commentary with your arms flailing about, just work. Good job!
Matt, holy cow my dude! Your new outdoor room is amazing. You already had the best house on the block...you've taken it to a whole new level now! Also, I like the no commentary style, but I prefer the comments. I've learned so much from you by the way you describe what you are doing.
I love this video! The dig was interesting to watch. Every little touch up made the transformation more than incredible. You are really good at details 👌🏼. Everyone doesn't have that capacity. It's usually from lots of experience or a very detailed woman in your corner 👍🏼
Fantastic job. You are a hard and dedicated worker. I see that you can do anything you set your mind to do. Dare I say that you are a perfectionist. That is a good thing. You remind me of my son. Can do anything and a perfectionist.
Love the outcome but will say that I personally enjoy narration instead of the ASMR stuff. I like to hear you explain what you're doing, why you're doing it, etc. Totally get why you may have switched it up and tried this ASMR thing but just giving my two cents in case you were hoping for feedback to gauge if you should do more.
Yes I appreciate the feedback! I like to try new stuff every now and again. No worries, I am not pivoting to an ASMR channel haha just worked out for this project so I thought I would give it a shot. Thanks!
Just AMAZING!!! Can’t believe I just watched this from start to finish and I didn’t care about the narration. I was glued. You did an epic job, keep up the good work. Thanks for sharing.
Great as always! Someone else commented as well but the “sad plant” is a daffodil bulb and past its season. Just cut the greens off and it will come up next spring. Also, I have really good luck spreading peat moss over the seed. It keeps it moist after watering, helps germinate, and keeps the birds away. Hey, sometime can you do a quick shout-out to your family so we can meet them? Thanks for all your tips! Christine
Cool! The careful selection of materials and the meditative process of construction created a unique sensory journey. It's a must-watch for those seeking relaxation and inspiration for their own outdoor projects.
I thought he was going to put a🔥 beat behind this but it was better to hear how much tension was present as he formed a fulcrum to pull the roots out and drive through the dirt with the spade. The Fixer has done it again
Your kids are going to have lots of fun filling a pail with rocks that they will distribute throughout your lawn. It’s a beautiful patio and I hope you enjoy it.
Interesting approach with no editorial commentary by you. I miss your usual catch phrase at the beginning 'And we're going to do it right now'. But, seriously, I like your approach either way - with comments or without. Thanks and continued good luck with your projects and your family. Sincerely yours.
It may be sparse at first with a lot of annual weeds...just continue to water, mow them down, use a weed & feed and overseed bare spots if needed. Rule of thumb with new lawns and plantings...1st year they sleep, 2nd year they creep and 3rd year they leap.
I am so use to you talking Mr. Fixer. Great video and self explanatory. Thank you the patio space & fire pit LOOKS AMAZING. Great job as usual 💜, I Love it 🥰.
You do excellent work & made it look so easy I hope you enjoy your deck & patio for a long time to come. This video was so awesome to watch & I learned so much from it. Thank you for sharing your skills.
You did an amazing job! For your grass, get some Epson salt. If you drink coffee, save your ground and toss that in the yard also. This will boost your soil and help your grass grow. Just sprinkle water and watch it grow.
Fantastic job. I have the marshmallows, Hershey's chocolate bars, and graham crackers....what time should we be there? 🤣🤣🤣🤣 No, but seriously, absolutely beautiful place to relax and unwind. Hope you enjoy yourselves. Thanks for sharing. 👍🏼👍🏼
Ah, that took me back to one afternoon where I had a job shoveling and wheelbarrowing a few yards of gravel in 105 degree heat..... fun times, fun times.....
You did an awesome job-it's beautiful! It's so refreshing to watch someone complete a project and do everything involved with such care and preciseness. (Is that a word ? --it is in my world). I'm serious, you have no idea how wonderful it is to see someone not half-a$$ it. Thank you-this is my first video of yours to see and I hit that "subscribe" button about 8 minutes in. Fantastic video! I normally don't enjoy ASMR videos, but this was great. You put so much work into your videos and do such great work on your home. Thanks for the great video, and happy Father's Day a little early!
First time viewer, and I am beyond impressed. Just watching you work was so meditative. I sure hope someone gave you a cold beer, a big hoagy and a backrub after all that. I can only imagine how nice it must look at night with that firepit going.

Thanks Emma, much appreciated!
I definitely loved the silent no commentary style. Would like to see more like that
