People should understand that this a part of FBA culture that belongs to a specific segment of our people and that this is considered flag waving. Just wondering how many people who are not, 1. From South Central LA, 2.Never has been or even been around a Real Gang or 3. Is just obsessed with the “Hood life style” is really on here trying to learn it cause it’s “Cool bro” not understanding this dance in the wrong place will get you beat the hell up and possibly killed.

This brings me back. Back in the 90s, we [LK's] got into a gang war with several sets of Crips. It ended up with 14 of us from LK's from two different cities at a house surrounded by over 30 Crips from 3 sets in 6 cars as well as the Crips from the house across the street. Having two rival gangs live across the street from each other was a product of a social experiment that eventually got rolled into section 8 housing where politicians would move impoverished people to nice neighborhoods with no police presence to show them a better life - lol. I was at the edge of the driveway with my 280lb 6"6' homeboy behind me with a sawed off. Everyone else on my side were hiding in the garage. On the Crip side, they were hiding behind the cars with guns except for 3 OG's. I wanted to just get our asses kicked even knowing I was the one who started the war in a sword fight that put their boy in the hospital. Everyone on both sides was scared of the other shooting though. I remember the 3 OG's all Crip-walking in sync; I threw out a grito and was ready to charge when the guns went off over my head hitting one of them. Police stripped me down at county and sprayed me with cold water with a female officer watching on until I winked at her. I think some dudes from Mexico did something because when I got out, one of those OG's wouldn't even make eye contact with me, but I knew it wasn't because of me. Zero-tolerance from police, new policies, and all the mistakes that involves reduced both our numbers, and I just walked away.

@@CJayWalker There were always too many Crips, so unless you just plain hated Crips, you were friends with some of them in our area. We actually got along with the Crips in our neighborhood, but one disrespected us leading to the war described above. Due to the housing issue that mixed gangs together, we actually tried to get along. The Bloods and Crips actually tied rags and made peace along with the nation-wide effort at my homeboy's house several years prior on the same street as the incident above. This was a Kings neighborhood, and we got respect, but for various reasons, our numbers dwindled. We warred with the Bloods early on, earned their respect, and they were forever our friends after. The Crips were always off and on though depending on relative strength.
I'll say this though; I actually found the the Crip-walking to be beautiful though I only got to see it as an enemy. What's missing from the video is the gang signs, which would probably get you booted off of RUclips - that's what made the dance more intricate. I used to throw beautiful crowns too. But I got what we jokingly call, Gang-Sign-Throwing-Cramp in my hands now - OG problems. lol
