👍👍🇺🇸🇺🇸I have been doing snow and everything with Michelin ltx a/t on all the trucks mud is the only draw back. But no one tire does everything great

I have them and I like them until deer hunt season everyone says you're going to get stuck on wet grass. They are such a great tire.

☝☝ This, and this. I went to Michelin ltx around 2008 and haven't looked back. I guess now now it's Defender LTX. No, it doesn't out snow or mud a dedicated snow or mud tire... but it comes damn close and excells in rain and gives pretty good longevity. Lil' pricey but once you're done crying they'll give 4 or 5 years of solid service. Maybe a tad noisy if I had any complaints.

Prices on these are crazy high now. I bought a new 21 Ram 1500 hemi, 4x4 Lonestar for under $50k.

I wonder how these fair against some other 3PMSF options. Sometimes the rating isnt sought despite similar performance. Sounds like they are generally working well for him though so cool to see an update on them.

The biggest issue I've had withe the A/T tires was that they were better than others in deep, off-road snow but no better than M&S tires for thin, slippery snow and ice. Which is what I encounter on snowy roads most of the winter Like he said, without sipes and surface area, tough to grip. I have 3PMSF A/Ts but still swap to Blizzaks come December.

@@Dusdaddy true, though I have had good luck with my 3PMSF Hankook ATs on ice. Don’t have much to directly compare to but I was rather impressed by them during our PNW ice storm last month that blanketed everything in a few inches of solid ice.

Can you not add your own siping for pretty cheap? That may change the characteristics for the positive in everything from wet (and dry) pavement, snow, ice, rocks, or really any slick or smooth surface. Would wear more quickly, though 🤷‍♂️
