He used to sing this “piya nahi aaye” everyday evening in his routine evening riyaaz. My father’s voice closely resembled his voice. Thanks for posting such video…. During the 60s an organisation named "Swar Sadhana" used to organise regular programmes of classical music in sector III, R K Puram, New Delhi. I remember Mr. Tawakaley as the one who was in the forefront in organising the programmes. I have heard ustadji in at least two of these programmes. Though too young to understand the intricacies of classical music, I distinctly remember ustadji, as his singing made a permanent impression on me.
Ustad Naseer Ahmed Khan of the Dilli Gharana. Singing a thumri in what sounds like Sindhi Bhairavi. The composition is very similar to the more famous thumri "Ka Karoon Sajni, Aye Na Balam".
FYI the accompanist are in this video They're also from delhi gharana, on tabla we've got ustad shakeel ahmed khan sahab who's the younger brother of ustad naseer ahmed khan sahab, & on the violin there's the violin wizard ustad zahoor ahmed khan sahab who's the cousin of ustad naseer ahmed khan sahab.❤️

I had the previlege of hearing Naseer Khan Sahib in Delhi in the Seventies. A true gem of the Delhi Gharana, which had Ustad Chand Khan to mentor
