    I fed mine Thursday with agrothrive, just as you did in this video. I will see how they go. Seems like last year we talked about the same issue with peppers being so slow. Mine eventually took off and got huge and did fine, so I think doing this and when the heat comes they will be good! Great video as always!!

    I just found out that tomato horn worms Love Jalapeño Peppers ans Grapes. 😢 I removed 4 THW's today. I also removed by hand and put 8 japanese beetles in soapy water.. And thanks to your video I know about the red and black flying insects that live in the tree of heaven. I found some of those too. I also found a small brown bug that doesn't quite look like a ladybug.. it's smaller, brown, and has no spots. I bought Neem Oil, Peppermint Oil, and Rosemary Oil from your shop, along with some heirloom tomato seeds for next year. Thank you for helping me spot and isentify these pests 🙏❤️❤️❤️🌻🌻🌻

    This was just in time. I have 6 that just don't seem to be growing at a good pace. I was going to hit them again with a liquid but was apprehensive to do so. I thought I'd ruin them completely. I'm definitely going to do this and see how they look in a week. My biggest fear has been over fertilizing. This really helped. Thank you.

    I grow my peppers in containers. Several of them were looking yellowish. They had already had Blood meal and Bone meal and some organic fertilizer.
    I sprinkled some wood ash around them and dosed them with Cal mag. BOOM! In just a few days, they were back on track with rich green leaves and lots of flowers and little peppers coming on. I don’t know why it happened but I have never had this problem before this year. It was an easy fix, and cost very little to do it. Thanks for a great video!

    My peppers survived 2 hail storms, and continued to thrive, regrowing lost leaves, I've been pruning off the damaged torn leaves, but then aphids attacked.
    I've been squishing & a spraying. I hate those things!
    Recently I found holes in the new leaves, yep, now I'm squishing grubs too! 🥴😖

    Just a couple of my pepper plants are looking like yours, yellow and smaller than they should be. Most are looking good, although some years I notice they're a deeper green & more lush than they're turning out to be this season. I fertilize on the 15th and last day of the month, instead of my usual 5-1-1 I think I will hit everything with Miracle-Gro this one time, except for the tomato plants, they're growing like crazy and already bearing fruit.

    The issue I experienced with a couple of my pepper plants last summer was green leaves with yellow veins. I'd never seen anything like it. I tried water-soluble fertilizer and they improved a bit but never returned to looking "normal."

    • @THERUSTEDGARDEN

      A paling yellow is often nitrogen related. Veining is sometimes do to other nutrient deficiencies. It can be confusing but a good place to start is with a water soluble.

    My peppers look good and most things in my garden are doing great except for my asparagus. I went back and watched your video from 5 years ago on planting asparagus and it looked like you were planing in mostly clay soil with bone meal and some fertilizer with compost on top. I have mine growin in raised beds loaded with compost and they start off ok the first couple years but they've been dying off now that I'm into year 4 or 5. Very disappointing after all the work and time invested. Am I using too much compost you think? How did your do in the clay?

    • @stupidvids0
      @stupidvids0 3 месяца назад

      How raised are the beds? They need to be in the ground to handle the freeze of winter... Try using a thick mulch on top and insulating the sides of the raised bed !

  • @dustyflats3832
    @dustyflats3832 3 месяца назад

    The problem I’m experiencing is organic fertilizers I think are drawing in night prowling animals. Yes, to liquid fertilizer of any sort to get the plants going. Higher nitrogen to start then once the fruit start raise the phosphorus and potassium with less nitrogen.

    • @THERUSTEDGARDEN
      @THERUSTEDGARDEN  3 месяца назад

      Remember compost is well below a 1-1-1 NPK and plants can thrive in that. Adjusting the P and K is true and can impact flowering and thus fruiting, but dont over spend on it. The plants really just need access to what they need to grow. But there is benefit from going from a 5-1-1 water soluble fish emulsion to a 2-5-4 water soluble Agrothrive. My point is when you are on a budget you dont have to over worry about this. Money can be spent elsewhere.

    What does it mean that my peppers are green, growing and producing new leaves but no flowers/peppers?

    What about Urine? That is good for nitrogen right? If diluted?

      People use it very diluted.

    @THERUSTEDGARDEN I'm new at all this and I want to know about watering. I see that you water your plants oiverhead in the sun. I thought that it's a bad thing to get the leaves wet??? Can you advise please? Thank you

      Thats a myth. Think rain on day where sun pops out after. The plants are fine. You can pretty much water how you wish.

    What about iron? Colorado soil is deficient in iron and nitrogen.

      Start with nitrogen and if it doesn't work, iron is next.

    2 questions. If we put a low nitrogen granular on recently could you then use a liquid type now to kick the plants in gear?. #2: I have always grown California wonder and started them myself. This year I wasn’t able to start seeds so bought a different variety, Revolution, from a local farmer. They have been doing well but I notice that in each leaf crotch the plant is black colored. Leaves are healthy green, just not a lot yet. Plant is growing and fruiting good. Just curious about this.

    Gary, I foolishly planted my pepper plants in oversaturated soil that I amended, but perhaps didn’t mix enough. There are signs of root rot going on. What should I do? I don’t think it’s too late for me to pull everything out and remix the soil and perhaps plant some new seeds…?

      I think you can dig them up and try to fix it.

    I have a very small garden and spending so much on Agrothrive isn't reasonable for me. Can you suggest another liquid fertilizer to use instead?

    • @THERUSTEDGARDEN
      @THERUSTEDGARDEN  3 месяца назад +1

      Well lots of compost means less water soluble. Any of the chemical types are safe and effective. They just have a bad rap and are a lot cheaper. I might do a mix 1/2 agro 1/2 chemical. That is cheaper or just use chemical type. As for organic, fish emulsion is expensive too overall. Most of them are.
