To be honest, from my personal point of view and experience, I worked from the age of 15 until now (50's) and although I had responsibilities from an early age, I still had no idea what career I would finally land in. Even now its difficult to sustain a career. I would advocate to not grow up too quickly and to stay young and treasure those years, but remember, its never too late to chase your dreams.

I was thinking the same thing. Usually, it's the oldest that helps out but it always falls on Hosanna. By default, that becomes her identity. Maybe take turns?
Obviously, you people don’t come from a West Indian/Caribbean background so that is why you can criticize about how a big family operates. Coming from a big 🇯🇲 family background, at 9 years old I was a great cook and could do all the household chores. Both parents had to work and work hard because life was not easy for them then and we all know we had to chip in to help each other. We didn’t think anything of it because we grow up seeing our family doing it, especially seeing that my mother was the last one out of 15 kids (no twins, my grandmother had 15 pregnancies). Our home was loud and boisterous but we wouldn’t have it any other way. Now as adults we try to instil this behaviour in the younger generation. You’re never too young to help yourself or each other, this instil good values especially kindness and selflessness. Living in North America now, I see so much selfishness that I strongly believe is because kids are not thought to be helpful and kind to each other.

I truly appreciate your perspective on how an individual that hasn't been taught how to ask for help won't know how to truly cope with stressful situations because they don't know how to ask for help, it was like you spoke directly to my life experience!!! I have always been seen as "strong" and "independent" when in truth, a lot of times I was barely making it. I have three kiddos of my own and as a single mom, its extremely difficult to do everything and be everything for my kiddos, but because I never forgot my challenges growing up, I chose to do things differently and I make sure my kiddos are capable and understand a real team mentality. We work together and we help each other. Breaking cycles and creating healthier patterns. We have a large family and an adequately sized smaller home. A larger house would require more maintenance. We get out and about. A larger home is not always best in my opinion. We are very close too!

You all exude love and that's what matters. So happy to see a group of children who are not looking down at a cellphone or laying in front of a television but are actively involved in each other's life. Criticism is water over a duck's back so just continue on the same path with positive vibes and plenty of love.

You guys are so correct on the “VILLAGE”.! It takes a village to raise a child! I when I was growing up we’re raised on the “ VILLAGE CONCEPT”, that being your family, aunties, uncles,. Neighbors, church members! That’s one way you know someone is always keeping an eye on your child!
You do a wonderful job being family, teaching the children to help and support the work of the household. I am especially reminded that it is very typical of Caribbean families to help each other. So when your Mum and Dad are physically there helping you it is exactly what I would expect based on how I grew up in Belize. Family is the backbone in word & deed. Due to my disability my daughter has helped out since she was about 6 with little things as she grew so did the jobs. She was shocked in 6th for when her peers didn’t know how to use a washing machine!! I think it’s great for chilgdren to learn about the way of the world. X

Your kids help all the time now is no different. But kids do need to be kids. They are adults long enough. As for comments about Tim most husbands and dads go out to work so he is blessed. I will say being a mom of two adults. They are responsible but we’re kids . You are blessed to have help. Many don’t. And have to figure it out. ..
Yes I agree, childhood goes so quickly and you never get those years back. I helped my mother but my main responsibility was to study and be a child, and I am grateful to my mother for that.

Everything you said about children growing up and not knowing what to do and being tossed in a world 🌍 expecting to know what they should do is so to the point. And that is why I admire the way you and Tim raise the children, after all it's hard enough raising one much less 6 working on 7 , you both have done an awesome job and you work well together. The love the connection, you are so insync with each other it's awesome to see. Forget the negative people, misery loves company and we ain't having none of that. Blime Houston is a handful she has so much energy it's exhausting just watching her and I mean that in a good way. She is absolutely adorable,all the children are. OMG why did I get my classroom vibes as I was watching this lol ahhhh I’m not ready 🙈🙈😂I feel like what family vloggers do by sharing videos and people commenting is like having an admin come observe your classroom. I always want my students to be seen in the best light and want my lesson to be on point. It always seems like when they do come in for the 5-10 min walk throughs they make snap judgments that are unfair and incorrect. I love what you guys are doing. I want a large family as well one day. Preach that Ella! It's so true, unfortunately I'm one of those that had to grow up all of a sudden, when going to college. Not to brag but, I turned out better than my mates because I didn't crumble, time management was and still is key for me. I was able to maintain my sanity when I did things on time to avoid stress. I'm trying not to make the same mistake with my kids (in the near future, hopefully by the grace of God) ❤️

Greenwade family, look at the state of the world (not pandemic, but familial situations). You all have a beautiful idea of family that is slowly but surely being lost. I’m married almost 28 years now and hubby and I have 2 adult children (baby is 19). We really taught/teach that family helps family. The good news is that you are creating people who will, like you, have those same family values. That gives me hope for the world. BTW, you could be as perfect as Jesus and people would still have commentary. Please keep doing what you were doing, you are leading a way and showing a light.
