I think you misunderstood about the R value. Yes, R-8 and R-16 are 90% and 95%, so it looks like only 5%.
But what you need to understand is, R-8 let's the heat flow 10% while R-16 let's 5%, which means R-8 loses the heat twice as fast as R-16, so what people often think is correct, the double the number, then the double the insulation.

Hmmm never thought of it that way great point. Nevertheless I’ve been very happy with the insulated R-9.05 door during this winter season and has done a great job blocking out nearby traffic and lawnmowers. Hope you enjoyed the content!

Have you had any issues withthe color fading?

Great question! Honestly one of my biggest concerns in going with a black door. Since installed for 2yrs I haven’t noticed any visible fading and it gets quiet a bit of sun. I wash it lightly every year with dawn dish soap/microfiber. The paint job is very high quality and I’m sure it will fade slightly over the course of 10- 15 years but holding up strong so far to the naked eye.

Hey how’s it going. I actually don’t mountain bike at all lol. The Mongoose bikes in the video was my dads who use to be a spin instructor. Thank you for your support and I hope you enjoy the content. More to come in the future when I get time.
