- I, DOLOURS is a cinematic yet intimate and complex portrait of Dolours Price, militant IRA activist, hunger striker and dissident Republican who two years before she died gave a filmed interview on condition that it would not be broadcast in her lifetime. Now for the first time her story can be told in full and entirely in her own words. This shocking film brings us deep inside the IRA and charts one woman’s journey from passionate idealist into disillusioned cynic, haunted by the memories of the terrible things she did for a cause she once so strongly believed in, she killed for it but, for which she believes was ultimately betrayed.
Dolours Price resists easy stereotyping - she was a ruthless revolutionary/terrorist who didn’t shirk any task, however brutal. She demanded her equal place among the male-dominated members of the IRA and was pitiless in her scorn for those who didn’t share her total commitment. She was also a beautiful, charismatic woman, loving mother, devoted sister and friend. She was passionate but fragile, dogmatic, yet tortured. Fascinating, moving and at times deeply disturbing - this is her story.
I, DOLOURS is directed by Maurice Sweeney and produced by Nuala Cunningham and Ed Moloney with backing from Screen Ireland.

I had friends who came to live in England in about 1975. W
Previously they had lived in the Divis Flats. Really good people, but both boys had PTSD. We were in our early teens. I can't imagine what their life had been like.
This was a pretty good documentary.
Can't find this doc anywhere. Seems to be in every country except Ireland
Its on Hulu. I'm looking at it right now.
Where can I see this I’ve been searching for over a year to watch this and still can’t find it
Only netflix from what i know
@@alexisalex702 thanks it only been recently released on RUclips
Can you tell me what cinemas will it be in Dublin?
On Netflix now
Can you tell me when it will stream on the web?
It is on Hulu now.
Just popped up on Netflix, if that helps.
It's also on tubi.
Is it true that she killed a mother of ten children because the woman dared to comfort a wounded British soldier?
The woman was a widow living in poverty in Divis flats, an area where the IRA walked around openly armed. British army gave her a radio to report back whatever she saw. She got a warning once, and was caught again. That’s what happened according to v credible sources. She was disappeared due to IRA understanding the bad optics of murdering a woman like this.
Apparently. The provos said Jean Mcconville was an informer, but I find that hard to believe.
Her sister, Marian, might have been the one who actually did it. I just read Say Nothing by Patrick Radden Keefe and towards the end it started to feel like it was the sister
It’s on Amazon prime
"Kerrygold"
The informer wasn't Jean mcconville and then her children are abused because of you
Kyle-kemmi, clearly you didn't live there, and don't have a bulls notion of what happened, try actually finding out what happened before ye spout bs.
She was most certainly an informer for The British Army. Maybe read the history before you open your mouth next time.
She was a poor mother of 10 children and she was butchered for being a protestant in a Catholic area in the time of the troubles and if anyone says different they are just trying to rewrite history
@@northernwhatshapping6724 Dee it seems she was used by the army according to the Boston college tapes
I do not profess to know. It's all talk. But I can tell you this, she probably had no more say in her life or actions than most poor struggling people at that time.
Its now on Netflix, I am 35 mins in, dont be expecting any kind of un-bias narration, as its totally one sided, and does not give a realistic account of what really happened, or what the situation was like in Northern Ireland.
if Gerry Adams is innocent then why did Sinn Féin threaten the PSNI after he was arrested re McConville
Really? What really happened?
@@babaoriley6294 . Liam Adams sexually abused his own daughter .. Gerry knew but he never told the police. They gave Liam access to kids after that. They let Liam work in a youth club. Jean McConville was murdered and IRA members have publicly stated that it was authorized by Gerry Adams .
@@longmemory1620 and how does that relate to Delours
