LOVE... Seeing and hearing Gabby... talk about DIGITAL PR... You can feel the passion... and to top it Off she's a true prodigy... an vet!!! (RARE FIND!)
I'm super excited to watch Gabby talk this authentically with so much knowledge and professionalism, and with such ease! This is what a true leader of an industry feels like - trustworthy, humble, empowered, empowering and compassionate. I would really love to see her back on the podcast!
20:25 I think that was the problem with my PR campaign. I spent a week scraping, gathering and cleaning data, and in the end I got 1 response and 0 links out of 100 emails. It was aimed at the UK and my angle was "Here's something where a bunch of small towns and cities beat London!" It was based on something I saw working in a different niche (a brilliant campaign on "The best cities for coffee lovers" done by a real estate website). I thought that was good enough, but maybe the media just thought it wasn't relevant to them :/ Anyway, thank you for another great episode! It definitely gave me some food for thought...
@markjohnston5730 Yeah, that actually might be it... My angle was similar to what she said - a ranking of English cities based on how many establishments they have are for practising my niche. I guess I'll need to broaden my outreach list...
Haha, thanks! It’s a combination of being born in Romania, moving to the states at 8 and growing up in the San Francisco Bay Area, then moving to the Netherlands for 4 years and then settling back in Northern California. 😅
Great Video! But I was wondering that if I work on a website that does not really cover a broad social niche i.e. Musical Instruments, then how does digital PR work for me?
You can do a lot with that niche actually! Start thinking of themes related to musical instruments: art, creativity, expression. You can also type in "musical instrument study OR poll OR research" into Google News and you'll see some interesting studies come up. There's one about how learning to play a musical instrument while young can help keep the brain sharp when older. You can come up with a creative idea related to this, (e.g. run a poll to determine the % of adults in each state that wish they had learned how to play a musical instrument when younger, or a poll to determine what % of Americans believe that music education should be a standard part of school curriculum) and maybe even reference that study from the Journal of Psychology and Aging.
Hi Mark, If they are a digital marketing agency, why is their DR only 21 and their organic traffic less than 100 users? Considering they've been in business for at least five years, it made me curious. Thought about reaching out to them, but it's a bit puzzling that they aren't applying these strategies to their own website. What are your thoughts on this?
Hi there!! Our website functions as a business card more or less. We don’t do any SEO for that site as we thrive on word of mouth referrals. But maybe I should put more time into it 😉
@gabrielacovay @markwebster1 so many golden nuggets. Thanks. One thing I missed in the episode is the entire topic of press release distribution via wire. Gabi are you guys doing that? W Csion or someone else? 🙏
Hey there! Thanks for the great feedback. We don't send press releases via the wire. It's all sent to journalists' inboxes directly. That way we know exactly who we are outreaching to and can monitor open rates, etc.
Thanks to Mark and the Authority Hacker team for having me on the podcast! What an honor!!
Brilliant content. Thanks for sharing!

Excellent interview. Thanks!!
@gabrielacovay Really enjoyed this. Whats the average cost per campaign provided by your agency?
Glad you enjoyed it! $6-8k is the range (performance-based pricing)
What's your budget . I am also into this.
Great episode with lots of thoughtful questions and Gabby's very generous insights.

what was your angle? usually boils down to not being newsworthy or also not being the right time (news chedule/current events etc)
Also did you listen to the fact that she sends out to 200-2000 journalists ;) Its a numbers game, but all you need is one!
@markjohnston5730 Yeah, that actually might be it... My angle was similar to what she said - a ranking of English cities based on how many establishments they have are for practising my niche. I guess I'll need to broaden my outreach list...
Being hones, 100 emails are not enough.
You are so smart @Gabby with super cool discussion. Thanks for your Honest opinion. Next time I will refer my friends to you... Thanks a million.
Great episode! Super interesting! 🙌
Can I get the link to one of The PR she did for your site? It would be really helpful
Great show… What was the 3rd party survey company mentioned please? I don't think it's in the show notes. Thanks! 🙏
Pollfish 😃
So much value! Thanks for doing this🙌

By using your dumb brain. That’s how it works pal.

It's not a big deal if they can demonstrate their abilities in other ways, such as in the campaign they did for us for this podcast.
I want to be Gabby when I grow up 🥹 she's so knowledgeable, what a boss babe!
@gabrielacovay @markwebster1 so many golden nuggets. Thanks. One thing I missed in the episode is the entire topic of press release distribution via wire. Gabi are you guys doing that? W Csion or someone else? 🙏
That's not really a thing for digital PR like this when we are trying to build links.
