May I ask, how is the formula derived? I keep on searching and searching but one thing, for me, is that I can never fully do something without understanding it first. Please tell me.
Great question and I have the notes but have not finished the video to answer it. The short version is we are dividing the variability of X and Y separately by the covariance of X & Y to determine the strength and direction of the relationships. The regression equation uses the change in Y and the change in X to create a prediction slope/line. Obviously too much to explain in the comments section but hopefully it will help
