They won't still let him in until they get a call or confirmation from a higher authority. As a security person, your job is always at a risk if you take a decision without authorization from a higher authority. Unless it is not a reputable security firm.
In addition to the above suggestion, your bodyguards should carry atleast 2 pump Action or M16 just to make it look more real
