Thanks for the info this was a life saver for my 1999 C230 Kompresser, my 1991 420 SEL code didn't work but I think the original owner may have switched it out to a different O.G. Benz radio. 😊
Do u no how 2 fix the radio from shutting down after u Rais the Valium I fixed it before but can't find the video there is a small button when u open the cassette deck but don't remember the steps I have a 02 Mercedes Benz C240
I have a 2002 clk430. I unhooked the negative battery terminal. hooked it back up, radio did not work after a few min. it was flashing CODE with an EJ under the C flashing. I got the code from the dealer but when I put it in & hit OK it goes back to flashing CODE & EJ again. Got any thoughts on that? thanks. JIM
I havent had my Mercedes in a while now, but I never had that issue. did you look online to see if anyone else has had the same issue? also, how many times have you tried inputting the code? try pressing the different numbers to get it to turn on if you can
@@DaylyDriverDayly I haven't found anyone with the same issue. When it came on the 1st time the EJ under the C in code was flashing too. I have tried it about 15 times in the last 6 mths, that's how long it has been off. Put in or (press what other numbers?) the dealer gave me the whole sheet & I verified the VIN yr, make, model its all good. I ask the dealer about it but he said "it must be a different radio so we can put in a new one for $3,000" I checked with the previous & he had it since 2004 & had to get the code from the dealer 3 or 4 times & it worked each time. I did have the factory CD player fixed 3 yrs ago but both have worked fine. Till now. Thanks JIM
I'm also having the same issue for my 1999 S320. Called the dealership, they gave me the code, but when I enter the last number, the first digit blinks. I'm guessing since my model doesn't have an OK or Enter button that either there's a secret button that works as the Okay / Enter does for newer models, or that the ignition has to be in a certain position similar to the oil & service counter reminder. They told me to bring it, but I'll keep troubleshooting bf I drive it in. Thankfully, it's only 20 minutes away.
You had me cracking up I'm sitting here in my 1999 Mercedes sport SUV and I just had all this money to have this amp and this subwoofer hooked up to my radio in my but it's a it's not the radio that came with it's not the stock radio it's a regular it's called a duel it's a cheap serious it's decent enough till I can afford to get another one but anyways it's locked on me I went and took it all the way up like an hour away I went back to the place that I had it hooked up for them to turn it back on they said connect and disconnect that's all you got to do it was disconnected I'm thinking it's this major thing so I get back I'm driving all the way back home an hour ride and I pull into my driveway and my radio goes up just like you said and I cannot get it back on and I'm getting ready to go on a long seven hour trip to my family and I can't get the radio on you had me cracking up cuz I can relate
What if you're replacing it with same looking one out of another Benz? I have owners manual and it has code card but that code won't activate the new radio. I tried one of those online generators but it wouldn't accept all the serial number characters. Kept saying incorrect field or something. Just wanted to maybe have a backup. Only cost $25 at wrecking yard and looks as good or better than mine. Mine fires up with code fine but new one says WAIT which I read means wrong code. Guess I gotta call the dealer.
@@DaylyDriverDayly I ended up fixing it there was a cassette tape jammed up in there. And the car was letting me know that the cassette door was open. Now the music sounds fine
Tell me about it Curtis Brown. I'm driving an A160 from work and the radio won't work because of the code. It's a second hand. Now what must we do? 😩🙄🤦🏾♀️
@@tebogomodiba1994 A MB dealership can supply you the code from your vehicle VIN. Or, if you still have it, check your owners manual. Mine was written in it! Inside the back cover with no note as to what it meant. We tried it and it worked. Good luck.

That's an idiotic comment cause there's no other way to retrieve the code if you can't contact the previous owner. It's not stamped anywhere unless someone did in the owners manual.
