have fun with your new to you bike Mate 😁👍 love the KTM 500 and Husky501 😎 if it wasnt for how much they are worth i would have one (Husky 501 ) 😉🤣 keep well and ride safe-ish 😁🍺
@@holden3083 bloody 500 left me for dead on Saturday - broke down, middle of bush.... 3 hrs pushing it uphill before mate came with strap to help tow. Replacing fuel pump and see how I go. Nav is Garmin Zumo XT - it's super easy to read on the go but I have no idea how to mark waypoints or anything technical - just never sat and played with it.
this certainly ticks more boxes for me over the drz, I'm looking to buy a new bike and am not sure if the service intervals of the ktm are enough to stop it being an adv bike?
Honestly mate, the KTM is a way more enjoyable bike to ride. In that vid I still had 'DRZ in sand anxiety', the KTM just cuts and slices through beautifully. Has a 14L tank, so good range. I haven't tried riding with camp gear, etc so can't comment on that. Changing oils, air filters, etc are an afterwork day activity for me every so often - not a big deal really.
I appreciate the reply mate, cheers. It definitely looks like the way to go. I've also been considering a crf300 but it's obviously a budget bike which means you have to upgrade a lot for better quality components Whatever bike I buy could potentially be replacing my 4wd so I'm a bit anxious about how often I'm potentially having to service a ktm if I ride it daily but for the extra few grand you get a lot more for your money
@@JoshSinnott97 ah ok, I just use them to muck around with on weekends and holidays mate, so take my advice with a grain of salt. Good luck with whatever you decide
Can't wait to see it in action on the holidays!
Yeah mate, when we do a more adventure style... still love the Xtrainer in tighter stuff 🤙✊️

It's a 2017 with 11 5km/240hrs, so not the freshest but still pulls well. New they're a bit pricey hey. Was a straight swap after selling DRZ.
@@AdvHQ now that was a great swap on your part Mate 😁🍺 got many more ks to put on it 😉👍
Are the wheels balanced? It makes a massive difference in vibrations on the road.
KTM has weights on it and feels awesome. DRZ felt fine on the highway with MT21 tyres. Very vibraty over 85km with MX tyres!
Go the 500. What nav setup are u using pease?

@@AdvHQ are the good old fuel pump strikes again. At least u don’t have to worry about your calories for the next week. lol.
Cheers.

Not getting rid of the Xtrainer are ya?
Nah, just switched out the DRZ for the KTM. Now I feel like I have the best combo 🤙✊️
You still glad you made the switch ?
100% mate!
